Restaurant VOLT: what do users think?

Keith Howell: Modern restaurant serving modern German cuisine. Really interesting interior in what was once an electricity substation. Food was on the whole well presented. Cooked to a high standard and very tasty. Great wine selection and option of a craft beer. Very efficient service, in particular because we were a large group.

Michael Fuller: Well worth the charge The only disappointment of a wonderful meal was the weather. It was so warm that we sat outside on the terrace rather than in the architecturally stunning interior. Either inside or outside though this is a beautiful location by the canal in an area that is popular with locals for relaxation. While you can order courses individually there are two set menus (one for vegetarians) of five courses which you would be recommended to choose. The main menu costs €79 and can be accompanied by a €44 wine selection. Again this is recommended. The menu changes from time to time. There are also a selection of small appetisers to start. Each course is interesting and beautifully presented, served by happy staff rightly proud of such wonderful food. This is modern German food in a wonderful location. Elegance and complexity in the food in an industrial setting built for form (architectural beauty) and function. Not cheap but well worth the cost. Undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Berlin.

Annekathrin Böck: Amazing interior, food and wines and service. One of our favorites in Berlin. We had the five course menus, both versions (veggie and normal) and absolutely loved everything about it. Nothing to improve.

Oli Chan: The fish dish, the walnut cream for the beef and the last dessert were really good

Morten Mortensen: We had the best evening at The Volt. The service from our waiter was perfect, he was helpful and so kind. The food was out of this world. Will definitely come back!

Guilherme Di Giacomo: Overall very nice dinner. Staff was very nice. One if the courses was a. It disappointing though. I still recommend it.

Ivan Fenenko: Thanks for the great food and service 🖤Enjoyed every course

Natasa Sreckovic: Everything was amazing! Staff, food, venue. Would definitely recommend and come back here!

Weihenstephaner Berlin: what do users think?

C S: Overpriced and bad food! Don’t come here for a meal! We had 5 different dishes and nothing was convincing. The potato salad was not edible. They said we would get sauerkraut, but we got meerretich. The chicken salad was abominable, I can’t believe they served it to me and made me pay for it. The chicken was not freshly prepared, it was cut hours ago and dried out. Very expensive. The staff was not very friendly nor helpful. The beer is good.

Kateryna Gundrova: Well, really great delicious beer, but their main recommended dish for the price 15,90 euro was not delicious. Pork steak was tasty, but potatoes had no taste at all. It’s so strange, how people can spoil just normal potatoes. My recommendation is to come here for a beer and for sausages or meet with fried potatoes. Don’t order this Biersteak (on my pictures). I’m a fan of all kind of potatoes, but this one didn’t taste at all, even with salt, pepper and sause. But the place is nice and touristic, one guy sings always here and plays guitar. So anyway 4 stars. Enjoy!

Praveen Mehrotra: This was second such outlet we visited within a week. They have ample seating space and some excellent variety of beer. Staff is very helpful. The basement seating gives that traditional rustic environment for beer garden and seating here is recommended.

Enmanuel Ortega: Delicious food, i really liked it and the person I was with liked it too. The service portion are a little bit expensive but the size is quite big (at least for us).

Nicholas Vazsonyi: Very busy and noisy restaurant. Outside seating available in the heart of Hackesche Market, next to the S-Bahn station. Weihenstephan is worth the trip just for the beer. The full selection of the Weihenstephan brewery is on offer. It is arguably the best beer made in Germany. I ordered the Schweinshaxe - pork knuckle - and it was quite possibly the best I have had. Super juicy with perfectly crispy skin. Take it as served and don’t substitute a baked potato like one of the reviewers did.

tryon qc: Good beer and food but slow service to start with. The hefeweizen took 15m to arrive and I had to get up and notify the bar. Pretzel also took a long time, server said “its in the oven!” but it arrived cold (Which I dont mind, just don’t say its in the oven) Hopefully it was an uncommon issue and not the establishment.

Yana Chehovska: The best place in the centre of Berlin! The great selection of tastiest beer, amazing food!!!! Definitely recommend!!!!!

Bevin Hook: Omg the pork knuckle is a massive portion but oh so delicious.Atmosphere was good and our waiter Sasha was very nice.Food: 5/5 | Service: 4/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

Morten Skrubbeltrang: We had a quick beer outside this historic and very nice brewpub. The weather called for outdoor seating but we also saw the cellar which looked fantastic. The beer was perfect and service was friendly. Good opening hours compared to nearby places like Lemke.

Nuna Norway: - Waitress was not in a good mood.+ Good beer+ Good food

Spindler: what do users think?

Zoe McArthur: Really lovely brunch spot. I had the pancakes and bacon - it had the most delicious syrup that really complemented everything. Fluffy pancakes and crispy bacon was the perfect brunch for a cold day. The staff were really helpful and using masks. Atmosphere of the place makes you feel really homey with a fun selection of music playing (fleetwood Mac, Bowie and some 50s hits thrown in).

Attila: Amazing flair, very good food and well designed interior. However, service is so bad that we won’t go back and I would not recommend anyone doing so either. There are at least 10 staff but we waited 20 minutes for our coffee and another 20 for the food to arrive. Waiters have iPads to work with but somehow not all will take your order. Very confusing and this just doesn’t work, especially if you come with children, sorry.

Lena Bakman: The restaurant is really nice and fancy. The menu is not too big but the courses are special, the steak was absolutely delicious and so is the chocolate dessert. The location is romantic, on the river in Kreuzberg.

Karim Dernaika: The is quite an expensive restaurant for the limited menu items they offer, however of the few choices we had, I have to say they were delicious, the fillet was cooked to perfection. The desserts were not bad too.

Sabrina Sciandra: Place is nice with lovely patio..in my opinion it was to hot outside. Service was also really good, the guy even talked spanish!Good brunch options, mostly with eggs…really liked the croque madame and the croissant. For the florentine eggs i just would suggest to mashed the avocado instead of the entire half…and i was also surprised they only offered bottled water.

Yoram Pomer: Fine upper scale restaurant in a great location. Big variety of drinks, small menu ( mostly steaks). The food was great and also worth taking a desert. Be aware that the portions are smaller than average!

Hristiyan Petrov: A really nice place. We went for brunch and got very satisfied. The ambient is really cool. The food is great.

Augustiner am Gendarmenmarkt: what do users think?

Renato Moutinho: Great food and customer service!!! Typically German food and Bavarian beer. We had the “crisp Knuckle of Pork” and it was awesome. We also ordered the “Fries coarse sausage” that is very good. In addition the environment is comfortable and well decorated. If you are visiting Berlin it deserves a visit. I also tried the larger beer and the dark one, both great. The dishes are well served and the two options cited above were enough for a couple. The location of the restaurant is great, pretty close to Gendarmenmarkt square that is very beautiful!!!!!

Cesar Desouza: After watching the excellent show ARISE, we went to this traditional restaurant for dinner. As it was late, they only served sausages with mashed potatoes. They were delicious. We ordered an Austrian wine. Everything tasty. Dessert was an apple strudel. The place was booked. Friendly waiters. We will come back to taste the delicious “pork knee”.

Jasmine LYQ: Food was good but service was below mediocre. We waited more than 5 min for nobody to pay attention to us at the door, and had to ask for a table. The waiter still didn’t want to bring us to a new table and wanted to attend to the others. Nobody paid attention to us when we wanted sharing plates and more napkins. We had to pay $1 euro for the toilet too. At the end the waiter wanted tips and asked for more money, which was awkward for us as we didn’t receive much service. Food and beer was great but we wished for a better experience as we are tourists.

Hannah Grech: We had a great experience here, the food was excellent but be warned that the portions are massive! We ordered the pork knuckle which was crispy on the outside and very tender on the inside, to die for! They told us it was for one person but ended up sharing and it was enough. The beer was excellent and dessert also pretty good. A very safe bet!

Tomilynn Clark: I was definitely a bit reluctant to go to a German restaurant after seeing what my grandparents ate growing up. This was perfect. I would not say vegetarians would enjoy but it was definitely like a home cooked meal!! So yummy on this gray day.

Catherine Corriveau: We had the full plate (special selection) and it was amazing. A lot of food for two bellies!!! We would appreciate more descriptions accompanying the plate, as we had various items provided to us. All items were only dropped on our table, without descriptions. We also had a beer with it.

Justin Shircliff: A nice place to get your German food and beer fix. Super busy on a Tuesday night, there was only room at the bar. I went with the Bavarian sausage and pretzel and it was pretty good. The mustard that comes with the sausages is the real winner, and don’t be shy using as much as you want. The Augustiner was good too. It’s a good option if you’re in the area.

Andy Andersen: Overall nice experience and German style atmosphere and food. Dishes are simple and filling and beer is good. The place is really large so service can be a bit slow but the food is prepared quickly once you order. Recommended if in the area

Ebert: what do users think?

Eypee Kaamiño: This place has really good traditional German food. The establishment is a down-to-earth family business that has been around for several years now. So for everyone who is new to Berlin and wants to try something local, you can come here and try. It is a little bit more fine dining than you might be used to in Berlin though. The staff are a mix of young and experienced people who focus on the well being of their customers. And to top it all off, at the end of the 3 course meal for 2 people, we only paid around 70€, which is imo quite decent for a fine dining experience.

Zane Pointon: The best restaurant I’ve been to in Berlin. Their white asparagus was excellent, as well as their home made sour cream.

Axel Herr: Went there with 9 friends for our annual pre-Xmas Goose Feast. The ambience and Xmas decoration was magnificent and the goose was spectacular, great crust, tender meat - just great!!! Like every year they had a challenge to guess the number of Xmas baubles hanging from the ceiling for a 4-course menue for two - quite a challenge...Food: 5/5 | Service: 4/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

joseph saadeh: I will give it a five stars but: The food is not the best in the world but this is the german food and they are do it well. The old woman (waitress) was not that friendly atthe begining but after a while she became really good. The place is really good and the beer is really good. The service is fast

Michel Van Raemdonck: I took the specialty from the house. It was delicious The service was good and the people very friendly. We came here to taste the typical Berlin dishes as they say on different reviews, unfortunately they were not on the menu.

Kirstie: Really delicious food. The meal included complimentary tasters from the kitchen and bread with their homemade butter/lard. Lots to choose from and really good sized portions. I had the schnitzel for main (two of them) with amazing potatoes! Really impressed. Nice atmosphere and easy to find

Kyra Alas: Great food and awesome service!

Han nes: Free desert ice cream for kids when colouring kids menu. Delicious food (ate beef & schnitzel), best in class service.

Christian Sieg: This family run place has been here for over 40 years and several ( at least 3) generations work here. It is ranked 21 out of 7000+ restaurant s in Berlin for a good reason... Amazing good food. When here have the local Berlin dishes.. the Berlin potatoe soup and try the Berlin liver. Both are amazing.

Dreh-Restaurant Sphere im Berliner Fernsehturm: what do users think?

Tanya Kronfeld: Nice view, restaurant is beautiful, with live piano music. The menu is short and don’t have many variations. About the taste… we took duck. It tasted like chicken. The potato dumplings were without taste. All dishes were not so tasty. And we waited a lot of time for the food.

emma lucas: Great view of Berlin and up in the restaurant, rotation at a nice speed to take in a full 360° sat at leisure. Attentive waiter and treated like guests rather than tourists. We never had food so can only comment on drinks but the menu was reasonably priced considering the fantastic location.

Andy F.: One of the highlights of Berlin and a must for tourists coming to see the city. Perfect views all around. We booked a table at their restaurant. The staff were very friendly and the rotating restaurant was a fun way to see the city. The food was good too and reasonably priced. You need to book in advance to secure a spot, but this was easy enough. You can book as far as three months ahead. Would definitely recommend!

Ghassan Zein: A MUST VISIT while in Berlin. Make sure to book the restaurant ticket online and pick the OUTER CIRCLE ticket which will show you the whole Berlin city from all sides. A really good experience to have while trying good food and drinks. Recommended for couples or even families. With the restaurant ticket you get to walk around the tower. Highly highly recommended!

Šimon Birský: Great place to have a special dinner at! The views on city are spectacular, especially during sunset. The food is of high quality and the menu of 3 course dinner changes a few times a year. Definitely its an expperience worth the money. The staff is also very friendly and speak well english. The restaurant is making a turn twice per hour.

S T: Great to have experienced it, found it a little over rated & overpriced. The food was fine, nothing spectacular. Found the waiter to be very helpful, professional and friendly. We were not under any time pressure to leave on the scheduled 1 hour. Great views over Berlin.

Anaya Alavni: Friendly staff, tasty food, beautiful view, worth going, would recommended to book the panoramic view table.Food: 4/5 | Service: 4/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

Gaststätte Sophieneck: what do users think?

John Durkin: An institution on its small corner of Berlin. Food is German local and massive portions. The salad and Berliner meatballs were more than enough for 2 people and if not enough extras can be ordered ala carte. The salad with nuts is nuts! I loved it. It’s home cooking style so do not expect a Michelin experience. Food is tasty and very meaty. Overall enjoyed it and a nice local experience. A few visitors but mostly locals. Drinks and beer only on the outdoor tables or the indoor pub like bar is ok too.

Murat Aydin: Good atmosphere if you want to meet and talk with your friends. Duck was nice but dumplings and cabbage were not very good.Food: 3/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Mert Hekimci: Great local place with real German dishes and some good beer selection. Far from tourist activity and part of a deeper Hackescher markt community. We had the duck and creamy baked potato dishes. Yummy...

Guy Harel: Great german food. Authentic atmosphere.Food: 5/5 | Service: 4/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Anna-Kristiina Nieminen: Good food, nice location, fast on friendly service.

Bruno Peres: Cozy place to try German food. Fresh, well served and reasonable prices.

Marcos Gutierrez: We were really satisfied by the special attention of Daniel, our spanish waiter. His service was really good, it was really easy as he made the understanding of the menú easy since we are also spanish. Really recommend it!! :)

Aurelien Meyer: Loved the place and the atmosphere. very professional and polite staff. good white wines. A bit disappointed with the food. Bit salty and costly. The meat plate (49 €) is large and delicious, with different typical german meat types. Ice cream was tasteless.

Benjaluck Fai Yuttisee: Tasty German food that feels very German. Meaty, potatoes, big portion. Nothing I would say special but that’s not a bad thing. I was there with friends and everyone was satisfied with their meals. The service was a bit slow but the staff was very nice and very friendly. The atmosphere was nice.

Millie Cheng: Cozy environment and nice staff! Yummy Pork Knuckle although it has only boiled Knuckle, it wont affect their taste Sour, spicy sauce mixed with salty pork is a stimulated option! It served with smashed peas and garlic, thus a few salad vegetables!

Erwin 020: Very centrally located is this typical German restaurant. You find most traditional dishes on the menu. I ordered a goulash soup as a starter, Berlin mix plate as a main course and chocolate ice with strawberries as dessert. All delicious! Staff is very friendly and bilingual. The interior is brown like the old times. The play nostalgic hits from there ‘90s music player. Even the phone is from last century and it still functions. All in all a great atmosphere.

FARANAK AMRAEI: The food , red wine and staff all were fantastic. We found this place through good reviews on Google. It didn’t disappoint at all. We will definitely go back again. We loved it.

Dzmitry Yudo: A bit touristy, but otherwise great. Everything we ordered tasted good and came in decent quantities. There are 7 beers on tap, including Weihenstephaner.

Laura Matuizaitė: Very good service. We like comfort food, so the sausages and meatballs were delicious. A nice place inside. Looks like an old typical German pub.

Rachel Lambert: Had the same dish, Berlin potato soup and Berliner Würst. As tasty as the last time. I was stuffed after. The staff were fantastic, anttentitive and courteous despite being busy.

Tatiana Efremova: Fantastic experience, in this place I fell in love with German cuisine! The portions are huge, so beware :) All courses were prepared with some original touch, and also rather quickly. The staff was super friendly, even though we came without reservation we were offered a sit. Our waitress was so kind and charming all the time, and she spoke English. Highly recommended!

Patio: what do users think?

Nick Hart: Beautiful decor, friendly service and nice venue... let down by inconsistent 4 course tasting menu. Great starters... but steak main was not seasoned properly and chocolate desert was average. Needs refinement to become world class.

Thavyness: We stopped here for a few drinks. The location is very central with beautiful views. There are nice areas on the top deck and lower deck if you want to enjoy a meal with ambiance. At the back of the boat is a small area for a large group that is private with 2 swings hanging over the water. In the lowest level, there is an aquarium and dance floor for parties. If I lived in Berlin, I would definitely rent this space for a private event!

Alex: I had the best meal of my life there, no exaggeration. The food was truly perfect, taking you on an adventure with every bite and the prices are very, very justified. A special thank you to Teo and Marc!

Jared Zimmerman: We had the 5 course vegetarian “land” tasting menu and most of it was quite good (braised fennel was skippable) service was prompt, friendly and attentive, but didn’t quite match the price of the menu. The boat and surrounding were quite nice.

Youqing Xu: Tucked within a hidden corner along the Spree River. This restaurant is an ideal place for intimate dining. Reservations are pretty hard to come by but thankfully the service team picked up my email request and I was able to make a reservation. Service by the crew is impeccable and we were delighted by the wine pairing with the modern take on sumptuous German cuisine.

Annie An Stepec: Really incredible experience! Such a beautiful place! The food was delicious, especially the ‘fish of the day’. The service was also impeccable! Best dinner place on a hot summers evening. Highly recommended!

Jonas Revensburg: What a wonderful place, with a great atmosphere and surroundings. The food is amazing, the wine list is great and the service was top notch.

Paul Gläser: A very nice location for a group. The food was nicely prepared and presented. The service took care and was ready to also solve challenging situations with a lot of humour. I really enjoyed it.

BLOCK HOUSE Am Alexanderplatz: what do users think?

Hafsa Tariq: Really amazing steaks justifying the price point. Cooked to perfection. The only thing I felt was the taste of the meat could have been heightened a bit. I would have liked a bit stronger flavor. But cooked to perfection! Hearty meal! Would love to try their burgers as well.

Jeffrey Barker: Wow. What an excellent steakhouse this place is! After two years and a dozen countries in Europe, we were beginning to lose hope that we’d find a great steakhouse. Block House was excellent. The service was excellent. The venue was tastefully decorated and lit. There really isn’t anything to complain about here. About the only thing that would’ve made it better would’ve been to get our meal for free. If you’re in Berlin and want a great steak, there’s probably no place better than here. Come hungry!

Zeren Cavdar: If you are a tourist, you should definitely come here for the service. Thank you Thomas for your warm and kind service, you made us feel welcomed to Berlin on our last evening. Kids also had good time with colouring pictures and a nice kids menu. Restaurant is very cozy with good beer and food.

Moustapha Mahmoud: A classic steakhouse. Service was fast and friendly. We had the Mr and Mrs Rumpsteakes. Meat was perfectly cooked, tender and very well seasoned. The garlic bread was delicious, fries and baked potatoes were also very tasty all this with a very healthy salad. We were served by a super nice lady with german humour. I totally recommend.

Okan Sayan: Very tasty meats. A nice restaurant in the city centre. Salads, sauces and meats are delicious. Staff is friendly. Toilets are clean. The restaurant is comfortable and nice environment. We paid 90€ for 2 people including tip. Prices are open to interpretation. Many people prefer this restaurant. There are always many customers in the restaurant.

Angelica angi: Recommended! Nice and various steak menus. I ordered T bone steak, it’s came with potato, fresh salad, bread and garlic butter. Very good service, nice dinner with a beer.

Efe Cüneyt Yalınkılıç: It was great. We waited at the door for a bit because it was full inside, but not more than 5-10 minutes and the person responsible for taking customers in was very kind. The service was very good and the food was delicious. The only thing that can be improved is the size of the meals.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Robert: Amazing food, very well presented. The Oysters are super fresh and clean. Great selection of wines. Very good service and overall experience. Will definitely be back.

Jan Kersten: Really good food! I had the pigeon as main course which was amazing and the caviar as an entrance which was also a really great experience. The wine we got recommended was also really good and the service overall was perfect. I can really recommend this place!

Lina Outri: The ambiance is very cozy and romantic. The food is delicious and of great quality. The bread is soooo yummmy and the staff are super friendly. Overall very good experience.

Christopher C: Lovely business lunch in this design restaurant Very busy Nice veal schnitzel and tasty Riesling Charming waiters Nice terrasse on a rather quiet street Recommended Nice menu for dinners also …

Carl Kruse: A beautiful experiment in Franco-German food with lovely, professional service that recently celebrated its 40th anniversary under the same owner. Much creativity in the kitchen, whose staff and ingredients are mostly German, guided by French influences. The restaurant was recently remodeled making it even cozier than before. Unlike other good restaurants in the area they open for lunch with a menu that changes weekly. A solid place for a date or with friends.

Brian Søgaard: Highly qualified and outstanding service. Interesting and well-cooked dishes of high-quality products. Both food and wine is fairly priced compared to the quality. I will definitely come back and recommend others to do the same.

Adam Tabachnikoff: Modern German cuisine cooked to perfection. Such a delightful and delicious Berlin experience. Seamless service, fresh ingredients and a polished presentation. We went for lunch and were not disappointed. Well worth checking out this Berlin tradition that has been around for 40 years. They are doing it right.

Tom Wildes: The food was creative and delicious. The ambience is cozy and romantic yet vibrant. Staff were friendly and made great recommendations. I would absolutely come back, this was a highlight of our visit to Berlin.

Christian Leinert: Must go place… living for years in berlin and upset not have found it earlier… all perfect

Angelo Vassallo: We had the surprise menu with 4 glasses of cremant and one bottle of wine, paying in total for 4 people 250€. The food was good even if at this level I was expecting a much better presentation. Service was just ok. Missing the attention to details for justifying the fine dining price.

POTS: what do users think?

Christopher C: Restaurant in ritz Carlton hotel .. Lovely modern interior ..with an open kitchen Incredible starter (char) Monkfish next ..good , on the boring side And lamb with artichokes to finish …very nicely done Fixed dinner menu German wines by the glass .. Charming waiter …super service Recommended …even for a date , because of lovely interior Summer terrasse ..but seems to be always closed , funnily

Henning Niss: Really nice modern, German food. A little pretentious (part of the Ritz Carlton) but still relaxed enough. The staff was very welcoming and prices are reasonable.

Olena Myronyk: Very very good. My friends and I came for dinner. We took the 6-course menu. Even though I was not not a fan of some particular ingredients, I admit - this was very good. AND. The premium wine pairing! OH. MY. GOD. Every wine was so well balanced, so well developed, so tasty. The interior is so very fine. On Wednesday night, there was not so many people, but I blame it on the Christmas Markets Period. If you would like to spend the whole evening - 3-4 hours - in a cosy restaurant with fine food and wine, this is a place to go. Staff is so professional. Yes, it is expensive, but trust me, this is worth every cent 😋

M. Madsen: With praise and recommendations from German colleagues we went there for lunch in search for a birthday dinner venue for when my father turns 70 next June. We arrived at the amazing Ritz Carlton around noon, walked inside to the restaurant and was greeted by an above average angry and somewhat arrogant young lady at the front desk. I am adopted and with both my parents beeing caucasian, she seemed to have a hard time understanding we were all together. She said very loud and looked very suprised “Are you together??” Even we stood there all together presenting our reservation. Could have been pretty akward had someone else been there :-) A little after she finally understood we were a family, she laughed very arrogant and shaked her head when my wife asked if the terrace was open. (It was bad weather, but my wife was considering sitting outside to spare the other lunch guests from our baby girl). The reservation had been phoned in some days before and we specifically had asked not to be seated at a round table (since they are half-closed and we had a baby carriage with us). The angry lady took us directly to a round table. We ask politely to be moved, unfortunately not possible even there was only 5-6 tables occupied in the whole restautant. Apparently it’s the type of mangement that cramp guests together in sections and that day, unfortunately, the (nicer) end of the room close to the windows and terrace was all closed off. Up until now pretty horrible thanks to the angry lady and the cafeteria seating but the food was really great, especially if you take the price into consideration. Except the bread. Delicious, beautiful plated with great tastes, I had one of the best bisque of my life in that lunch. (Joel at Metropole, Caprice HK, Søllerød Kro). Moreover, the angry lady had left us and instead came waiter Angela (I think). Angela was so sweet and professional. She charmed a lot of the other tables as well and our daugther loved her from first seight also. It felt like she could have serviced all of the tables by herself. She turned around the whole experience.

Özgür ŞENER: I feel bad since I feel giving two stars only. Because the venue and the service is so good. Unfortunately I can’t say the same thing for the food and wine. We liked only the first course. Monkfish was very dry. Lamb smelled so bad I couldn’t eat it. The desert was nothing special. Tried two Chardonnay (1 bottle for 109euro and 59euro each) nothing special. For this price point unfortunately I wouldn’t go there again. Sorry guys!

Valentin Hermans: Nice venue with open kitchen. Interesting wine pairing. Food was nice, but certainly not outstanding. Sommelier and waiter were poorly trained. Got confused with the orders, spilled wine and water. You definitely find a better place in Berlin in this price range.

David Hamann: Staying at the hotel and stopped by the restaurant for breakfast. He an incredible experience. The staff was fantastic. The selection and quality on the buffet was excellent and was also able to order off of the meal.

East London Girl: If you are looking for a treat when visiting Berlin, look no further than POTS restaurant in the Ritz-Carlton hotel which is located in the centre of Berlin in Postdamer-Platz. POTS, with its Michelin star chef Dieter Muler, aims to reinvent German cuisine with dishes focused on sharing plates and experiences. Being a summer month, we chose to have dinner on the beautiful terrace at the back of the restaurant. The interior of the restaurant also looked amazing. We were greeted with a Pots Spritz, Reichstrat von buhl Reisling Brut with homemade douglas-fir syrup. This was a beautifully refreshing aperitif and unique with the fir flavouring. To start, we were recommended the Purple mustard egg, spinach, chive mash potato (12 €) and Matjes style whitefish, green apple, cucumber (12 €). Both starters were flavoursome and we were told modern takes on German classics! For mains, we had the “Burnt cabbage“, parsley, Miso from Berlin (19 €) and Meatballs, Bavarian, Riesling sauce (20 €). Like me, you may have been sceptical about having a whole cabbage for your main course but boy was I wrong. The textures and flavours were incredible and left you wanting more. As to the meatballs, the reisling sauce really helped make the dish a lot lighter than traditional meatball dishes. With the main courses, we were recommended Wittman weisser burgunder 2017 white wine, which paired beautifully with the cabbage and meatballs. For dessert, we could not resist sharing our favourite, Spiced crème brûlée, woodruff ice cream (9 €). Crispy on top and creamy and smooth underneath – perfection! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at POTS and were spoilt by very high end, modern German cuisine. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are looking for somewhere special whilst in town! We did not have time but the Curtain Club bar in the hotel also comes highly recommended and looked like a fantastic location for a pre or post dinner drink.

Brechts Steakhaus: what do users think?

Tech Zilla: Exquisite steak house, it is located next to the river in Mitte Berlin, the restaurant window has a display of different aged meats that are mouth watering, I had the dry aged Argentina steak which was delicious. There are a couple of vegetarian dishes but really this is a meat lover’s paradise. My steak was delicious and the chunky chips were perfect, great wine selection to accompany your dish too. The outside area over looks the river and at night can get chilly but everyone has a blanket on the back of the seat to keep warm if needed. There’s a large seating are inside the restaurant as well as outside so something for everyone. It’s a very romantic atmosphere and a great place to go on a date, the prices are reasonable for the excellent quality of food and drinks that are served. I highly recommend Brechts Steakhaus to anyone looking for a tasty evening with brilliant friendly atmosphere. @Brechtssteakhaus

Kunal Saigal: Excellent steakhaus! Our server Marc took fantastic care of us and my guests from India! Every dish ordered was top class! Especially the Pomernarian steak :)

Felix Nathanael Rompis: Not worth it! If you’re looking for a proper steakhouse - avoid this place. Ordered an Entrecôte Medium Rare. Was offered a mostly Well Done piece of meat. When I had this sent back, the kitchen chef had the audacity to reject my return - claiming that cooking on the lava stone meant that parts of the steak would always be more done than others. Well mate- then i don’t think you know how to (a) cut a steak, (b) cook on a lava stone, and (c) run a service business.

Lucas Dean: It seemed like a great steakhouse, we was seated immediately. The staff initially was friendly and accommodating, however, we soon found this to be a lie after our first drinks order. We ordered a bottle of wine and it took 4 times to remind the waiter to bring what we ordered to our table. We then waited 2 hours for the food after asking a waiter how long for the food only to be replied to and I quote ‘I don’t know’ and walked off. Please don’t eat here, I’d rather give my money to someone who has class and cares for their costumers.

James Birch: Deserves zero reviews from me! In October I made a reservation for the new year meal.Today I messaged them too make sure it was still happening? Good job I did as I would of got there for them too tell me they are fully booked?

Sébastien Michaud: Two things to highlight: 1. Friend and I both got the dry rip agent which was a 250g cut of meat and was priced at €15, not the prime cuts. When we ask the waiter for the discrepancy (it’s €40 on the bill) he took out the menu and showed the tiny ‘ab 100g’ somewhat near the ‘€15 ‘. So: on the menu they showed the 100g price despite the fact that you only had the option to get the 250g (they didn’t even ask how many grams we wanted). 2. We got a bottle. French wine. On the menu it was a 2015. They brought a 2019 and hoped we wouldn’t notice. My friend is French so he spotted. The year’s on the bottles are just a marketing gimmick catered to an audience that doesn’t pay attention. Conclusion: little subtle things a restaurant does to squeeze as much money from you. I have attached the bill to this message so you can all have an idea of price and making an autonomous decision accordingly. Food quality? Acceptable. Price / food ratio: highest I’ve seen in Berlin. Service? Seemed nice but ultimately dishonest. As my usual left a 10% tip but not going there again.

Paulo Manzano: Food ok and nice positioned close to the river, but the staff today (25/08/2022) at 17:00 treats you like they are doing a favor. The worse was when asked for the bill the man just said the value from the machine without showing the itens, when asked the paper to check, he laughed ironically.

Alt-Berliner Gasthaus Julchen Hoppe: what do users think?

Shirley Lim: Love the schnitzel with the fried egg with its oozy yolk. Fried potatoes were also good, great comfort food. Pork knuckle is crispy on the outside and tender inside. Service was excellent, waiter was attentive and friendly. We ended staying till closing.

Arma Zh&: The place is nice, with a Christmas decorations now We ordered fish and Berliner dish the fish was not good, it was too salty and a very small layer of fish. The Berliner dish was good They were fast

Faidra Antoniadou: We ordered pork knuckle as the menu said but we got given something with gelatine that was really cold and bland. The first waitress told us that the dish was not pork knuckle, the second waiter said that the wrong dish was given to us and then a third waiter came up to tell us that the dish was correct and that they were not willing to change it free of charge it, even though the menu did not even specify that the dish contained gelatine and that it was served cold. The sausages were good so this is what the 1 star is for. Overpriced and truly overrated for what it is, would not recommend for any occasion!! Stay away if you want quality food :)

KI SHUN LAM: Great food with good price. Two stars lost as the waiter rudely took my menu, even I told him I want to keep one for the discussion of drinks. He said he need it and left. It is so bad.

Rafael M: The friendliest staff I’ve seen in a while, great food for amateurs and a nice atmosphere that makes you feel at someone’s place. Definitely a good place to discover German cuisine.

Alba Diaz: If you want to taste the typical german food, this is for you. Good place, in a centric place but also good prices compared with other typical german restaurants. Also, the taste of the food and of course, the Currywrust was a 10/10. For sure i will repeat!

Kajal Kapoor: I ordered a spicy sausage wurst, and it was very very good, it wasn’t what I was expecting because I thought spicy would be spicy and it was actually a little sweet, but I think that’s just because I wasn’t used to German food yet!

Liam H Sheffield: Lovely traditional meal that far exceeds its more touristy neighbours up the road. The quality and portions were very good and will definitely be visiting again.

William Dennis: The environment was cosy but the food was disappointing. There was no effort put into it and it was a bit pricey. The food looked like it was made by a University food student.

Alla Tsymanovska: Just a normal place to have some lunch in the center of Berlin. The food was okay, people are nice. The waiter found a table for me without any reservation.

Max und Moritz: what do users think?

Justin Shircliff: I found this place on a list of best German restaurants in Berlin so decided to try it. The ambiance is great, as it has a nice bar area that opens up into seating with high ceilings. There is also live music, which was a nice touch. The food was delicious, from the salad to the bread to the beef goulash. Super friendly service too. It’s cash only, so keep that in mind before you head out. The Barre beer was really good as well.

pronins: Good German pub food. Not the best schnitzel I’ve had but still quite decent. The potato soup with bacon and sausage worked well as an appetizer. The portions are rather large. They offer a good selection of drinks, particularly beer on tap. The servers are all extremely nice and friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. An enjoyable experience overall, but I found this place to be somewhat overpriced, given the quality of food and the location.

Rachel R: Really good food, especially the schnitzel. The menu really gave us some good German cuisine options, and the guy who seemed to be the owner was very charismatic, charming, and spoke excellent English. Great selection of beer/drinks as well. Price was pretty standard to what we’ve been seeing around the area. They only accept cash, though they tell you this as you walk through the door.pork

Ady Coy: With so many restaurants to choose we went to this one because of its good reviews and near where we was staying it was so good we went twice. The staff and food where excellent had two great German dishes and the portions are certainly not small so cannot tell you what the pudding are like. Drinks where very good as well and nothing was over expensive which made it even better. Thank you to all at the restaurant two great meals had by us all

Mark Catterall: Traditional German bar and restaurant. Very much feels like you are stepping back in time. Staff helpful and friendly, enough English spoken for poor German language speakers. Booking is advised at weekends, staff very helpfully fitted us in on a busy Saturday night. Food is traditional German fare and potions are good. I especially enjoyed the Kreuuzberger Mollie unfiltered beer. Well worth a visit...

Ann Faust: This is my "must" restaurant when I am in Berlin.Definitely a German classic, even for a lifelong vegetarian like me.Make sure to make a reservation and remember to bring cash as they are not taking cards.

ellie: Bread was kinda stale but it was free so I guess we shouldn’t expect much. Wait staff told us they were packed and wait time would be longer for our food but we didn’t wait very long. Thank you! Meatballs were delicious and the sauce that came with it was awesomesaucs. The schnitzel left more to be desired but would come back for the chill ambience.
