Lalibela Ethiopian Restaurant Berlin: what do users think?

Borja Latorre: Really tasty food that you will have to eat and experience with your hands. The mixed flavours are delicious and the portions huge. There are plenty vegan options and all of them great. We ordered 3 dishes to share by 4 people and it was more than enough food for all of us. Service was very nice as well. I totally recommend the place. However, the local is very small so you must need to wait a bit in order to get a place. Really tasty food great for sharing. Vegetarian options: Many nice vegan options

Steph Morph: Nice little Ethiopian restaurant with a lovely intimate atmosphere. The food took a while to arrive, but it was so worth the wait. Tasty and an explosion of flavours! They have several vegan dishes with lentils and cheek peas that are really delicious. It’s recommended to book in advance since the place is not so big.

Isabela Santos: Super tasty food! The vegan options are very delicious. The combo is very big and could be shared between two people, if you are not super hungry. I would recommend to anyone wanting to try it out.

Nils: The food was very delicious. But the restaurant was really tiny and waiting for +1h after ordering made it not perfect. Nevertheless, if you have time and like to enjoy the experience to eat with hands, you should definitely try it.

Samet K.: Nice ambient with authentic food (as far as I can judge)! At Lalibela you can enjoy delicious Ethiopian delicacies. If you go alone or with a group, I can recommend the share plate with all sorts of dishes to try and explore the awesome cuisine of Ethiopia. It’s salty, meaty but also fresh. It’s a light guilty pleasure comfort food :D! Btw. Don’t be shy and use your hands and the bread provided. You can easily clean your hands before and after the meal in a small bathroom. All in all the food is great. The location isn’t very special but overtrumped by the food.

Bejte-Ethiopia: what do users think?

Chris: Food was an amazing experience and the staff there is really friendly. We took 2 big plates for 4 persons which was more than enough. We got some free drinks too after we paid and it felt a bit like we were really in Ethiopia. Also a really good price. Would really recommend to try it once!

Ege Kockesen: A very authentic restaurant in Berlin, Bejte delivered with delicious food and generous portions. The price quality ratio of this restaurant is great, and we tried combination 25, with meat and veggie specialties. We enjoyed all the dishes offered to us, especially the spicy chicken and the lamb, along with the lentil dish. I would definitely go back again.

hagay isaak: Wanted to give 5 stars but then they made me wait 25 minutes for my bill, had to go 3 times to ask for it, only the 3rd time when i went to the bar they gave me the bill finally and i could pay. Food is great and fair prices, too bad they had to leave us exiting with such a sour taste.

Ranu DongraToshniwal: Tried sambussa & Ye.Zom beyayentu!! I had veg and vegan!!If you are looking for Ethopian cuisine, this place is a must!! Amazing taste!! Friendly service:)

Siddharth Godbole: Best and most favourite place in Berlin. I’ve been here 6-7 times and always been outstanding! I always ask for customised teller for the number of people eating and it’s always upto the mark! The tea is a must and my personal favourite is the chicken!

Addis-Abeba-Restaurant: what do users think?

Naura Hyneck Ismail: Our party of 6 adults are contented with the delicious food selection and excellent service. The restaurant was a little busy at the time we sat for dinner but the food was worth the wait. Will definitely come back again. ❤️

Francesca Petrillo: It was my first experience with Ethiopian cuisine ... perfect food and super delicious! Very friendly waiter and ready to explain to us the typical Ethiopian culinary traditions. Addis- Abeba turned out to be a real traditional Ethiopian restaurant with its very native interior. We will return there to try more vegetarian dishes! I recommend it if you want to try REAL Ethiopian cuisine!

lu ha: We have had plenty of home cooked Injera dinners with our partly Ethiopian family and this restaurant rates on the top of authentic experiences- very yummy, very hearty, very hospitable, true to its origins. Thank you for being there for us to enjoy!

V_nemo: Food was good and very authentic, they also have some Ethiopian special drinks dju mango flavour and banana flavour.

Murod Khusanov: Great place and very delicious food. We have been there with friends and this authentic restaurant made our night. Special thanks for in-house coffee

jo hanna: I went to this restaurant yesterday and I absolutely loved it! 🇪🇹We shared the vegan injera plate for two, which was very tasty, tasted freshly prepared and made both of us full. I’ve went to Ethiopia some years ago and the food at this restaurant tasted super authentic! Also the waitress was really friendly and helpful. We asked her for a little bit more spice and she handed us a sauce and powder and told us that you can order it spicy but if you don’t tell them, they’ll hand you the „German adapted“ light spicy version 🙂 (pro tip! But be careful with the powder, it is super spicy) We’ll definitely come back!

Mr Coupon: First time to try Ethiopian food. To be honest, I didn’t have high expectations but Addis-Abeba easily went beyond. I was greeted and welcomed nicely and service was great. As you can see, food looked delicious and tasted even better than its look. Highly recommended🇪🇹

Mirko Thiesen (Thiesi): Service was friendly and food was absolutely delicious. Only dish sizes could be a bit bigger, especially considering the price. Still a recommendation though.

Atreya Shankar: Absolutely lovely place! Super hospitable team, food was hearty and delicious (mixed plate/meh-haberawi), strong Ethiopian coffee served on the side and authentic honey wine to top everything off.

Langano: what do users think?

Rein: One of my favorite restaurants in Berlin. Delicious food, also caters to vegetarians/pescatarians, heartwarming staff, and extras such as complimentary coffee and sometimes popcorn. If you drink alcohol, I very highly recommend the honey wine. Will never stop coming here, and bringing all my friends!

Max Achterweust: This is a great Ethiopian restaurant that serves the authentic shared dishes. We had the vegetarian dish for 3 and the flavours were amazing! Quantity of food was good and the fruit bears tasty. I would recommend 10/10. 👌Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

A. & T.: The injera is very nice, soft and a little tangy. A must try. Recommend to get a mixed platter to try a bit of everything. Service is good. Cozy atmosphere. Cocktails could be prepared nicer though.

Steven: First time for Ethiopian, exceeded expectations the spices used are so fragrant, thank you!!

Rieke: For me this was the first experience trying African or Ethiopian food. This restaurant definitely made me curious to discover more restaurants serving this kind of food. Me and my friend ordered the vegetarian plate for 2 people (price: 20 euros). This comes with various dips and to my surprise you eat without knife and fork. The food was yummy though I had imagined the dips to be more aromatic/spicy. Unfortunately the plate is not heated from underneath when being served so the food gets cold quite quickly. The service in general was good. I can recommend this restaurant.

BLE: First time traditional Ethiopian food experience and it was outstanding thanks to refined and balanced spicy tastes. The housemade roasted coffee is delicious too. Prices are fair.

Mehmet G.: I wish I could say it was great. It’s a cute place with outside seating. The food is mediocre at best and not cheap. Service is very slow.

Blue Nile Restaurant: what do users think?

Carolyn Breit: When you can’t eat any more pork knuckle or doner kebab, stop in to the Blue Nile for some delicious Ethiopian food. We ordered one of the kombination platters for 2 people plus an additional side of peas with cottage cheese. The portions are generous and we couldn’t exactly finish it all but we wanted to. The cocktails are very nice (planter’s punch and black baby) and the Ethiopian beers go perfectly with the meal. Definitely recommend this little spot off the beaten path for something delicious and different in Berlin!

owen smyth: It was all great at first (4star) then getting check was hairy, tried to charge $10 extra for card until I noticed. Other than that food was great, waiter was awesome, company was great. Miss my grandma, and wanna go have fun on this full belly !

Julia Liepmann: We ate outside. It was a little chilly, given the time and season, but the blankets helped. So did a cappuccino with a tot of whiskey. ;-0 The food was lovely. A variety of beautifully seasoned meats, vegs, lentils, on vinegary flat bread (sort of a pancake for Americans). You use the bread and your fingers to eat. A little messy but fun. Last year I had a mango beer, served in a gourd. Loved it. There are other flavors too. This year I wanted something warm. Another great Berlin food experience!

Fernanda Trancoso: Super tasty, amazing service, great price!!

Niall Bellabarba: Very authentic very interesting very original. Perfect for a night out that is different.

Mihal Rahman: Decent food for a relatively high price. But definitely worth the experience. We ordered a vegan shared platter and it arrived pretty much immediately - which gives the sense that the food is already prepped. Nonetheless, it tasted quite nice. The restaurant setting itself is quite nice and especially a solid experience for building closer ties in larger groups.

Md Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury: Food is tasty. Tried roasted beef in stripes with Injera and it was good.

adot kitchen - Authentic Ethiopian brunch and speciality coffee: what do users think?

Alexey Chernikov: Great scrambled eggs. I didn‘t figure out what makes them brown, but they taste great. Served with crepes in a seemingly traditional way, with a hay cover. Also tasty spiced tea with honey. Very friendly staff. Nice location with plants on the facade. Very cozy. Card payments!

Pleun Peters: Delicious Ethiopian food! Super friendly staff. We definitely recommend this place.

Marisa Eva: Nourishing and delicious Ethiopian dishes & coffee ceremony. Rahel & Eskinder offer such a warm and welcoming experience! Also friendly to those with a gluten allergy. New favorite spot.

Sebastian Gonzalez: Delicious weekend brunch run by lovely people, also offering their own locally roasted coffee from Ethiopia. Scrambled eggs and bulgur are amazing!

M. G.: Super nice owners, very very delicious food (the „egg variation“!!!) —> try it! Also the Ethiopian coffee 😍 You should have a try! Thanks guys for giving us a dry place during that rain shower 😉

Jas Min: This food is amazing! The injera is made with Teff and therefore 100% gluten-free. The eggs are just divine! I don’t understand the other commenter complaining about wait times. The food here is made with a lot of care and good ingredients and that takes time. The restaurant is beautiful and cozy, the coffee and tea flavourful and the owners are such warm and friendly people. This is a place where you can come in hungry and tired and leave with new energy and happiness. Thank you for the amazing food 😊

Kathrin Hakenbeck: If you want to try something new, healthy and incredibly tasty with fantastic coffee, this is it! On Saturdays to Mondays the cafe is run by adot, an Ethiopian couple who offer the most amazing Ethiopian brunch with their own Ethiopian coffee brand and a coffee ceremony. My highlight were the scrambled eggs and the bulgur - I have never tasted anything like this before! Highly recommend!

Eyassu Degefu: I was there on Saturday and Sunday - the scrambled eggs with butter and Injera (100% teff) was heavenly.

Sergio Guerra: Wonderful experience, very good food and coffee. They were so attentive and explained the menu to us so we would know what to expect. The scrambled eggs are something really special.

Lalibela Restaurant - Taste of Ethiopia, Kreuzberg: what do users think?

Santiago: Food is delicious and prices reasonable. We ordered two different plates and got it all in one big tray. At first, it seems like it’s not enough food, but you end up really full. Mind you, it’s a bit spicy. The service was fine, one guy spoke English and was really nice, but one of the other waiters didn’t speak English and wasn’t helpful. Mind you when you order one Coke, they give you a GLASS. Not a bottle. All in all, it was a good experience to try different food, but I would improve the service and how they serve drinks.

Alexandrine Navarrete: Really welcoming and nice place. The food and the combination of spice were amazing. Flavour I never tried before. The vegan option/plate was super tasty and filling even if the portion doesn’t look big. Super healthy food too only good and natural ingredients. I never been to Ethiopia but this preview made me want to travel. I recommend it to anyone wanted to try and discover new culture/ flavour/ looking for vegan option or healthy and protein rich food. 💕✨🌱 I will come back for sure!

JK K: Great restaurant, good food, friendly staff. We have ordered 22 & 61. it’s a big plate with different food. I really have enjoyed the visit. I give them 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Steph V.: It was the first time we tried Ethiopian food and we do not regret it. We actually had our anniversary here and it was the best decision. The different flavors and sauces and also the ‚bread‘ were super tasty and we couldn’t manage to eat our two portions. Even though we had a small misunderstanding while ordering, it was solved super easily and it was still a great experience. 5*

Dimitrios: Friendly service and card payments possible. But the food is more instagramable than it is tasty. The big sharing plates have only liquid pastes, which are easy to prepare in big quantities and then rewarm them, which aren’t so exciting to eat.

Ugam Kumar: This was my first experience of trying African food and I loved it. The food was delicious. They have a spacious outdoor seating area. The staff here is very polite. Would recommend.

Karlina: Lovely place, the food is great. Prices and portions are more than fair. The service is fast and friendly. Don’t hesitate to try it out!

D Yen: Gentle and attentive service, delicious food on a huge platter to share and I like that they also offer my favourite thirst quencher at the moment Proviant Lemonade/Rhubarb 😋 also awesome that payment by card is possible.

Sena Çankaya: The food was incredibly delicious, the portions are big and the staff is very very friendly. Definitely coming back here!

Alba Gómez: It was so nice to be back after many years since my first visit. The staff was as wonderful as always. I brought some friends who absolutely LOVED the food and I had an amazing chicken dish. THANK YOU!

Rabab El-Monofy: Great service and the food was excellent too. I ordered the fatta with minced meat and it was delicious.

Abilash M S: Tasty Ethiopian dishes. Very friendly service as well! Had a great experience. Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian options available

Christine Comfort: I love coming to this place because of the welcoming atmosphere and amazing food! There are plenty of vegetarian options and I also love the moringa tea. The server is incredibly kind and speaks English as well as German.

Nienke G: Such a wonderful place—really good food and great service. We had to move our reservation last minute and they helped us out, and they were willing to serve tap water (rare in Berlin). Thank you!!!!

Yuta Matsumoto: We had a vegan tasting plate. Unique flavour and formidable service! One of the best meals I’ve had in Berlin of our one month stay

Massai Restaurant: what do users think?

Rakesh Chandru: Nice ambience, exotic food and drinks on the menu! Waiting time was a bit too much. We waited nearly for 1.5 hours for the food to be served, after the order. The presentation was good, but the food itself was okay. Not so great compared to other African restaurants that I’ve tried. The quantity was less than expected for the price. Overall, a good experience.

Pedro Torres: Food is excelente and very different. Staff is great and the place looks fantastic

Sindhu Soman John: Food...ambience...service...cocktails... everything was top notch !! Get transported for a short time to another continent!

Bettina Hindes: Lovely staff and decor, but the food wasn’t good - especially for the high prices. There was huge piece of raw eggplant in our Mafe Poulet main dish, the black-eyed peas were hard, and instead of rice there was a soggy side of some kind of root vegetable. The vegetarian starters didn’t have everything listed on the menu but did include the hard beans and undercooked cassava. Perhaps other dishes would have been a better choice?

Vincent Wolff: Splendid location. One of Berlin’s true gems. This location offers a wide range of African dishes, from south, east, west and north. From zebra, to crocodile and other types of meat, they offer everything. It’s a bit pricy, but a worthwhile spent. The staff is lovely and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Pe Kool: Having now lived in Berlin for a year, I found it difficult to find a good African restaurant. Until I came across Massai restaurant. The design of the restaurant is amazing, with East African features and you notice even in the small details such as the menu book. I liked that the staff also dressed in African attire. The staff provide exceptional customer service, making you feel like you were friends even before you met. They were very attentive to our needs and never did we have to wait long to be served or catered to. Our meal choices were good and very filling. Being of African decent I thourghly enjoyed the spices blended into the dishes. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Tatiana Nadyseva: Cool place with fascinating interiors, nice English speaking stuff and rich menu which varies from vegetation options to the crocodile meat. We had vegetarian 3 course meal for 21 euro. The portions were perfect size and taste very good. The menu had there different starters and three different main courses as well as soup. The serving was fantastic as well. We also had banana and mango beer, which I can only recommend.

Justyna Komuda: My first time with African restaurant - very interesting. Also my first time with ostrich meat. The most I enjoy with the soup, it was very delicious. They have cool menu set with soup, side dishes and main dishes. Worth to try. Next time I have to try zebra meat from grill.

Little Ethiopia: what do users think?

Lisa: -Before second lockdown review- We came early to ensure a spot. Polite and shy owner gave us good recommendations. My German was even worst back then and she couldn’t speak english so I had to get help from Google. This was my first Ethiopian experience and eating with hands during COVID was challenging but it was very interesting for me.

Annely: Traditional Ethiopian food. The food was very delicious and the waitress was welcoming us friendly. They have 2 vegan options on the menu and we chose both of them and shared them. They serve the wat (stew) with injera, a traditional sourdough bread which looks like a sponge. They have Ethopian Walia beers but they aren’t listed on the menu. Looking forward to go here again!

Johnathan Yen: This is the most authentic Ethiopian food in the city. The flavors are clean and not oil laden, while the spices are clearly identifiable. The owners are friendly and attentive, also offering bags of spices and flour for sale. Do make sure to make reservations, as the place is small and only seats about a dozen people max. It seems they make the food for the night on order depending on the number of patrons, so calling ahead on a weekday is a must.

nikhil Shankar: We had the Little Ethiopia special with Tubs, and it was absolutely delicious. The owners were really nice and very hospitable

First Second: Little place with Ethiopian food. Not so much of meal, but very tasty.Food: 5/5 | Service: 4/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Ayasha Guerin: In my opinion, the best vegan Ethiopian platter in Berlin, which comes with a variety of different perfectly spiced dishes... if you are very hungry order the shiro too! The owner is very kind, and always makes room for another table outside. I love coming here!

Cafe MokannTi: what do users think?

Lucy M: We loved the short menu with two breakfast options and three lunch platters. The small plates create a home like atmosphere for an Ethiopian/Eritrean. Food was authentic. The owners were very friendly and attentive. Price was reasonable.Recommended!

Chonky Foodies: This is purely a review of their coffee. We def will go back to try the Ethiopian food, as it looked really good. Coffee review: They roast coffee themselves and sadly it seems like there is no passion for the process. The coffee is over-roasted and it literally tasted like burnt cardboard when drinking it. The barista skills are bad. I ordered a flat white and got half the cup filled with foam. I didn’t drink the coffee yet, this is the milk foam that collapsed on itself. All in all, the coffee there is bad. Roast and drink are both bad.

Piero D'Onofrio: Simply, the best coffee in the area and more. Delicate hand roasting but intense flavor perfect for espresso and other types. Small and tasty desserts handmade by the friendly owner and a great Ethiopian Ziginí if you want something more substantial to eat. Sitting on the quiet terrace on sunny days surrounded by the scent of coffee is truly a pleasure. To attend every day.

Khaled Alaswad: Tasty Ethiopian coffee. The owner roast the coffee himself.Pleasant atmosphere with a beautiful view to the park on the sunny days.

Ninja Kitty: Very tasty intensely flavourful coffee. A nice contrast from the gancy Berlin coffee shops. Nice little cafe area for seating indoors and outdoors

Paulo André: Came across Cafe MokannTi, a small Ethiopian family owned cafe, in my morning coffee walks. I had such a good cafe latte while sitting outside that I just had to go back inside and buy some beans to take home with me. This led to a wonderful conversation with the store owner who kindly walked me through their different roasts and flavors. Great experience that will make me come back. 🙂

Waleed Ali Khan: Excellent coffee, the family running it make it particularly special. Don’t forget to try their spicy scrambled eggs! One of my favourite cafés in Berlin.

Max: Coffee is pretty good, different blends made of Ethiopian beans. The family owning the place are very welcoming. Def a suggestion to stop by!

Mercredi Jeudi: We go there very often. The owners are very friendly and the coffee is excellent.

Saskia Vogel: Such a lovely place! I’m so happy to have excellent Ethiopian food in the neighborhood and at such reasonable prices. The desserts and coffee look delicious, too. Very friendly, cozy and relaxed. Great lunch spot.

Shadi Garabawy: Thats my first time that i tried west African food, the food was great ,i loved how the FuFu dish was balanced, not spicy not salty like was almost perfect, and off course the plantain was good, i give 4 start because the service has to be more passionate to explain more about the dishes and where exactly from that’s how i love sharing nostalgia through food not just to eat . Good luck and yes i will back again .

Christina Luise: We came on a Saturday evening at 6pm and it was already quite busy. We booked a table for a group of 10, and had to wait outside about 30 mins for the table to free up inside. (This is a very small restaurant). The food came relatively slowly but I give that to the fact that there were only 2 people working and taking orders- and we were a large group. But we did get our food after people who came in before us so the organization could be better. At first they said they didn’t have Fufu, but when we were seated they said we could have it in 40 mins. It was all really delicious food, slightly on the expensive side but I really enjoyed the vibes there. Would come back but not with a large group. These guys could do really well extending into a larger space or franchising across Berlin- there was constantly a line outside, so there is definitely demand for more West African cuisine in berlin! (Something to think about😉) In conclusion, don’t come here if you’re starving and want food immediately. And don’t take it personally if the staff are a bit short with you- they’re probably just stressed. But it could be great if they’d explain the dishes better for people who’ve never had it before. And maybe add some photos into the menu! Thanks for giving us a slice of West Africa in berlin✌🏼

HoneyPeach: Food was well seasoned and good, vegan options was also great would definitely recommend :) friendly service too.

Anthonia Ekem: I had Waakye, beef, stew and plantains together with a side salad. It was really amazing and delicious, would love to make this order again #Didipa

King: Delicious authentic ghanaian food. The jollof rice tasted just as good as my moms 😁

Melisa Minca: Vegan red red was so tasty! Very good vibe, delicious food, nice ppl :))

Byushra Sargyn: Me and my friends were so excited to try African food for the first time.Since it is a small restaurant, there were too many people inside, then they took us to the table at the back of the kitchen and WC. The only reason I wanted to sit there was because I wanted to listen afro music. So my friend very kindly asked if we could move to the empty table inside. But the waitress there answered " No, What does it matter where you sit? you will eat the same food ". After that we felt very bad this answer anyway and we ate the food quickly and wanted to leave immediately. The food was really good. But I will never go again. I hope you will not give such an answer to other customers who ask for something from you.

Ebenezer Okechukwu: Great music. Wonderful food taste. Nice service. Terrible waiting time. There is a need to employ more workers at this pointRecommended dishes Fufu with Groundnut Soup and Meat …More
