hanabira – Japanische Lebensmittel & Feinkost: what do users think?

Pavel Hlushchanka: Overall it's a good store with high quality stuff. The staff is helpful and always explains what better to buy and how to use. But my only concern is their working hours. I know it's corona time and it's a small business. But they are closed at 6pm and I can't come by and buy something there after work. My only possibility was to buy something on Saturday. But now they don't even work on Saturday. I mean, shift the working time until 7pm at least and I would go there more often and maybe other people as well. I don't get this.
Response: Thanks for the nice review Mr. Hlushchanka. We are open on Saturday between 12:00 and 16:00 o'clock. And I must be honest, I have family too and after years working all time, they want to have some time with me together. After february I think I will open up again till 18:00 o'clock. The opening time now is my kind of holiday. But if you need something you can always get in touch with me and I stay till you come up to 18:30 o'clock. All my customers have this option, you just have to contact me.

Nathan Micay: Wonderful store for Japanese imports. Great selection of liquors. Their monthly cooking class is also very fun!
Response: Thank you so much Nathan, you are always Welcome!

Hsinju Lee: A cute store with interesting Japanese products and super friendly people.
Response: Hi Rita, Thank you very much for your Review! You are always Welcome :)

misanthropia: I've been desperately looking for cherry blossom powder or syrup for ages, and have been trawling the internet for weeks without success. So I called hanabira and asked if it might be listed here or if it could be ordered. Unfortunately, it is not listed here either, but the lady on the phone took an incredible amount of time for me and recommended an online shop (of the competition) that I had never seen during my search. Lo and behold - this online shop carries cherry blossom syrup which is immediately available! In addition and in particular, the lady was so incredibly friendly, kind and patient, something like that is SO rare these days. I will definitely visit and shop in hanabira soon. If I could I would give more than 5 stars. THANKS!
Response: Thank you for the lovely review ❤ . I continue to do my best to find solutions with my clients when they are needed. ❤

Min Quang Tran: I went there with my girlfriend who was looking for umeboshi (salt plum) and found it^^ The saleswoman was very familiar with it and was able to give us good tips for the preparation and was super friendly at the same time :D In addition, the shop is decorated super cute - small but nice :)
Response: Thank you for your wonderful review :) I'll keep trying my best! (*-*)

Selena: A very cute little shop. Here you can buy authentic Japanese products that are not available in many places (or at least not in the same quality). The owner is very friendly and you can tell that she puts her whole heart into advising you. In every area you can see the heart and soul that was put into the shop, the decoration and the selection. My shop of trust for two years.
Response: Thank you very much for your loyalty ❤ I will continue to do my best

Peter Ku: Nice service, small shop, I think the selection could be bigger, but there is more on the website in the online shop. I got a good juzu paste.
Response: Hello Mr. Ku, thank you very much for the very good rating. As soon as everything has improved again, more products will be available again, until then we all have to wait and enjoy the existing products 😀

Midorigawa: Great shop with a super nice owner who helps with her expertise wherever she can and also prepares a lot of things freshly to order!
Response: Thank you very much for the nice review! ❤

A. G.: Thank you very much for the nice advice. A super nice little shop with great products and a super nice owner and a super nice employee. Top products and advice. I like to order from your online shop because I'm not from Berlin.
Response: Again and again :) Thank you very much for the detailed, very nice review!

Ida Kätzel: Run by an owner who puts her heart and soul behind and for her products. Japanese delicacies for a special taste.
Response: Thank you very much for the great rating :)

HIS JAPAN PREMIUM FOOD & TRAVEL in BERLIN: what do users think?

Shu Ding (Parabola): Very nice place with many kinds of Japanese wine and coffee, also friendly service!

Andreia Lopes: My go to place for Japanese products. Very friendly and knowledgeable service. Great authentic products.

Vincent Kurnia: Bought great premium quality japanese wagyu yakiniku beef here

chloe: Lots of Japanese snacks and tea!

Charis: Small assortment of Japanese groceries and spirits. Very friendly. Was originally just a travel agency and tried a new concept during the Corona period. There are also Japanese biscuits and mochi.

ชิงชัย เนื่องดิถี: Very good atmosphere, clean, comfortable.. spacious.. and very good service staff.

gian Yin: It's a beautiful store. People who are fluent in Japanese accepted me at the sales floor. The selection of sake is excellent, ranging from affordable ones such as Hakkaisan to Dassai's 40-95€. What caught your attention the most was the candy from Izumo Taisha Shrine? It was like In Japan, I go to visit Ise Jingu every year. It was a pleasure to feel so close here in Berlin. I don't usually eat sweets I can't help but stretch my hands. PS. You can pay by card.

Mazira Toyama: Very nice staff and a surprisingly large selection of products. Super tasty onigiri. I can only recommend.

E. M.: Very friendly and helpful staff. Currently also delicious Japanese food, good for browsing or shopping for gifts. I'll be back as soon as I want to know more about traveling to Japan.

Yosuke Itoh: I can't expect freshness, but I found mentaiko (refrigerated) (I also have cod roe)! I can finally find mentaiko spaghetti 💛
Response: Thank you for posting. Regarding fresh vegetables, we sometimes receive products that are airlifted from Japan. We sometimes have fresh perilla in stock, so please try it with mentaiko spaghetti at that time! (We currently have frozen mentaiko and cod roe.) We look forward to seeing you again!

MUJI Berlin Hackescher Markt: what do users think?

Paulo Teixeira: It's my favorite place to buy pens and stationary. Can't live without their small notebooks! It also has a good selection of small reusable bottles and sprays with the perfect size if you are always traveling. Muji is a high-quality brand with multiple convenient products. Employees are always nice. The store isn't very big so it is easy to get crowded.

Masaharu Nishiura: Brand from my country, service attitude different. Also, shop is not clean. Stairs looks like third world country. I am sorry. But I wonder how can they keep exist. Man section very narrow and store layout not good at all. I think Germany is misunderstand Japan.

Wojciech Calów: Fantastic place to visit. Japanese vibe. Minimalistic and good design & quality: clothes, office supplies and house hold items. Every Japan freak must visit.

Natalia Ferber: This place seems to be very popular, I bought a winter hat once because I left home without one and obviously I was cold. My husband got himself a few t shirts he seems to be okey with. I do have a bad memory from this place from a long time ago, when I was living in other continent, tried on a lovely shirt and they gave me , technically, the same in a close pack and when I open it, 10.000km away from the shop, has nothing to do with what I tried on and felt scam. I know I should no hold a grudge, but hey, sometimes we do. Anyway, I went to the dentist next door and Google maps thought I was in the shop today, so, there is some hope there, you still can do a few things without daddy Google knowing about it, no grudge ;)

Claudia Beindorf: Great place. Unique sortiment, reduced forms, no false opulence whatsoever. Functional, lasting, good quality.

J: Very creepy experience here. The security followed me around like I might steal something. And I am Asian! They do not do this to German customers. Do not shop here if you are asian.

teteslog: Very nice service and the store is located near the Center, it was a little pricey but the quality is amazing

Rebecca K: It's MUJI, the Japanese answer to IKEA: it's wonderful--worth going to just for the smell of the aromatic machines!

Romain Torres: You can find some clothes for really not much but most of them are quite expensive for what they are, more than Uniqlo. I really like the minimalist style of the outfits though. There's quite a few things for the house, especially to organize your home which is really interesting.

Tim: Huge selection, friendly and helpful staff. Love the brand and this shop is way bigger than in the mall of berlin.

Everything there was absolutely reasonably priced, but even if you just go there for inspiration, I highly recommend a visit!

Chaya Dein Japanladen: what do users think?

Vic Tyler: I have been preparing matcha myself for some time now and I used to be disappointed when I ordered matcha out. But not here. The tea was prepared with love and the perfect technique, served with cute and delicious Japanese sweets. The mochi I tried here were amazing, the matcha chocolate was great and the staff were really nice. I’d love to come again!
Response: Thank you for your kind message. Looking forward to your visit again. Chaya

Kai Mc: Great azuki ice cream for 2 euro!! Very sweet store owner. Authentic Japanese products from bowls to kimonos, snacks and more :)

Renata: Friendly staff and big range of Japanese tea and handcrafted tableware and items for making tea, from different manufacture and workshops of Japan. Interesting place for Japanese culture fans, here you can buy masks, daruma doll and yukata.

SAKE KONTOR: what do users think?

Fred Kranich: Wonderful selection of Sakes you would not find anywhere else.

Max Reichardt: Excellent Service:Clerk took what little (amateurish) information I was able to provide, broke down the fine taste nuances to an adequate level, suitable for a beginner such as me and had me sample three potential candidates, two of which were spot on.

Petar Vassev: A great variety of Sake, Soju and accessories .

Geoffrey King: Really friendly and informative owner, and a great selection.

Noël El Fontroussi: Sake experts with excellent customer service

Maximilian Iseson: Mmmhmmm

Pier Fumagalli: Loving it!!!

Sir Trion: The Sake Kontor at Ostkreuz is a fine little shop that offers the best sake far and wide. The advice is always perfect and you always take exactly what you are looking for. The selection is very good and the Kontor maintains close contacts with the sake breweries from which it sources its sake.

Alphamixel: Super competent and lovable advice! Plus a great, handpicked selection of sake. Just the thing for sake lovers. The visit was worth it and we will definitely go shopping there more often.

Youju (youju_j): Fluent 4 language staff makes us very comfortable with Incredible nice service. The boss also very kind and she is An Expert knowledge of sake! You can see, you can smell, you can try everything what you want🤗 If you are a sake lover, I highly recommend this place. (There is well chosen Pottery, sake glass, tea as well ) If you like sake, I recommend you to stop by this place. It has a well-organized interior and cute and cute props.

DC4 - Japanese Denim Store: what do users think?

Jackie Lee: Very great selection of Japanese denims.highly deep and professional knowledge. Super kind behavior. If you like to know real good denims, just go!
Response: Thank you very much, I appreciate it.

Leonard Jacobs: Great clothing store for authentic well made and well curated Japanese men’s clothes. Very knowledgeable proprietor. Fantastic selection of clothes. Highly recommended.

Jesse Symons: Really friendly gentleman who owns the shop. Definitely knows his stuff, without a doubt best shop in Berlin for quality clothing.
Response: Thank you Jesse !

Alvin Narsey: Friendly service. They took the time to understand my requirements. Super knowledgeable. True Japanese denim heads. Why would you shop anywhere else for this kind of gear in Berlin?
Response: Thank you very much !

Daniel Mrozek: Very good denim stuff.Kind and professional service!

Matthew Pearn: One of the better shopping experiences I've had. The gentleman who owns the place was incredibly helpful and passionate about his business. I learned a lot about Japanese denim today! I bought my jeans and he had them hemmed to my specifications in 20 minutes using thread from the denim company and stitched with an old machine from Levi's (I think). End to end, impressive experience. If you're looking for a high quality pair of jeans that you can wear for years then go here.
Response: Thank you very much for your awesome comment. It’s very nice to have such a cool customer like you 😎

Daniel Olinsky: This is a different kind of shopping - it starts with the dimly lit store, on to the unique items on display, and through to the the store owner. Walking off the street and into this cozy store is equivalent to falling down the rabbit hole, at the bottom of which you will find a friendly, professional, and above all else passionate guide for a tour of the world of denim. Some incredible pieces of denim hanging on the walls and tons of knowledge and stories filling the room. Simply give in to it. And remember to bring some cash with you cause you'll want to leave with an item.
Response: Thank you very much for your kind words. It was a pleasure and we are looking forward to see you again. 🎌👖

P Z: r/rawdenim represent: Really nice store. Small, but great products. Belts, shirts, super high quality tshirts and pullovers compliment the jeans selection. Its japanese raw denim so protect your wallet from a heart attack though...

PiPo: Decent store with nice ambience, good assortment, kool guy owner (nice chat), fresh cold japanese beer and good service (free hemming with chain stitching). Worth a visit!

Jack Stone: Nice collection of japanese denim and stuff. On site hemming is a big plus.
Response: Thank you very much, Jack 👊🏻

Sreenivas Duggineni: Great place to buy everyday groceries and other miscellaneous items. The prices of some items are slightly higher than it's competitors and few items are of lesser price and rest same as market price. It's usually busy between 5 to 6. It's spacious and have friendly and professional staff.

MUJI Ku'damm Flagship: what do users think?

Sir Brian: Home decor and useful stuff to support a good and stylish living. They just have this Asian simplicity combined with Scandinavian colors really well combined. While walking through the maze, there are tons of things to discover. Definitely a great place to check out The prices are reasonable as well, and they have good offers from time to time. Even if you’re not into Asian looks, this is still a very good place for you to stop by and have a look .

Wooyong: So obsessed with MUJI community market on the 2rd floor! I bought some cute homemade candle for my friend and got my 3min portrait here.

Mark Hofmann: Really liked that in the food section a selection of local Berlin brands is offered. A very good way for the promotion of small local brands. Also a very good selection of travel accessories for very reasonable prices

Ana šubic: What can I say, it's Muji. Sometimes it just does wonders for a soul to go there, buy a ton of modest brown esthetic stationary and study with 5% higher motivation that week.

Girl On A Hunt: I love this shop. A little expansive but they primarily work in pure cotton. Their dress shirts and chino pants are worth it. They have a small section in the basement where you can get custom machine embroidery on your item. Most common is getting your initials embroidered. I will definitely shop here again

Alexander Karczewski: Your classic muji store, it is a Japanese product store with homeward, and clothes. Everything you could ask for, men's section is lacking

Radu Lupu: Great store with great products and super friendly staff. Shoutout to Dino that went above and beyond with helping us with packaging.

Mehmet Perk: It is great if you like greenwashing colors like grey and beige. 🤓

anafternoonnap: best muji in europe! the staff is really kind :)the quality of their products is amazing. i have bought a lot of things over the years and i still have everything.it's always nice to shop here.

Daniel Vasylenko: A place to go for basic tshirts and nice quality basic comfy clothes and items for home

Asia Mekong: what do users think?

Марта Сухова: Nice Asian store with everything you want. Perfect for all who love spicy food

Oskar: A huge variety for such a small shop. If you are searching for common or Asian groceries, you'll most likely find it here.Note that here is only one checkout to pay at. This was not a problem for me until now, but if this place was well-visited at once, you would have to wait for your turn.

Farzana M: I found 2x Samyang sauce here. Also the smallest 2x samyang cup noodle AND AnW root beer >>> been to other asian shops and they didn't have it... I am happy! I hope they have these all the time.

A F: Lots of selection. Selection is a bit more skewed towards vietnamese, indian and thai foods rather than east asian like chinese, korean, etc

ABB: Just be careful to expire date before you perches!! I have been visiting this place a lot, but there are so many expired date products. I got miso and spicy chili oil and they were expired date..

Jared Zimmerman: Great selection of Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, and Indian dry goods and some fresh produce and frozen foods, and some houseware and Asian cooking and eating utensils organization is a bit haphazard so it’s easy to overlook things or not be able to find what you’re looking for right away. The staff is friendly and will help you find what you need. German grocery stores are light on hot sauce, Asia Mekong has you covered, even a few Mexican and American options thrown in.

Maja L: The prices are above average, and the store has mostly Korean and some Japanese products. But the staff is nice and it has great location. I go there at least once a week. The vegetables are fresh, but avoid frozen seafood and frozen dumpling (not tasty)

Ri Sa: Good variety of asian groceries, drinks and snacks. I recommend it if you're looking for specific noodles, spices, frozen goods like dumplings and so on.It also has a couple of instant foods and sweet and salty snacks.

Natasha Dara: Convenient if you need Asian ingredients (Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese...Plus some English things because why not). But prices are whatever they feel like charging you when you get to the front. The prices marked on the shelf have no meaning. Definitely lacking in the helpful, friendly staff department.

Samantha McKillop: Decent selection of Asian goods, I got most everything I needed to make sushi, including rice, nori, bamboo rolling mat, pickled ginger and rice vinegar. The fresh asain vegetables looked good too, like bok choy and Chinese cabbage.

Dhruv Cosmik Khanna: Super amazing Asian Grocery Store. It has everything one needs for Asian cooking. They have indian spices and pickles too.The shop owners are a couple and they are really friendly and sweet. I love going there to buy my groceries and supporting them!!

Sukanya Anujorn: Small but packed with Asian food ingredients. Not a lot of Thai though. Kimchi is really really good.

S Q: Such a nice shop!Well equipped, fair prices and always much good quality, fresh veggies. They also offer home-made Korean food like mandu or kimchi for a decent price. People working there are always really friendly and helpful! One of the best Asian shops in Berlin!

Fred Flint: Small but perfectly formed. Most things you could possibly want from an Asian grocery were available. Vegetables were fresh and the prices were very reasonable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Kendra Valentine: Small market but good selection for the basics. Well- priced and nice owners. Go here often.

Anne Ellersiek: Perfect store for all kinds of spices. Fresh and packed. Excellent pricing. Great!

Dylan Korver: Friendly store keepers with a great selection for such a small shop. Prices are competitive and you can beat the supermarket here on many items. Recommended

Olivia Oyama: Great shop with a surprisingly decent selection for being so small. They have all the basics plus a nice variety of Asian herbs. And the owners are very nice!

peyj n.: I buy here a lot, the owners are very friendly, and I usually find what I need. There is also a always a small selection of vegetables and herbs. I really like that because it saves me the extra trip to the supermarket.

Renata Sabbag-Nassar: I agree with all the previous excellent Reviews, just wanted to add one more Plus point: Home made Kimchi (incl. Vegan options)!! DELICIOUS!!!

pigo: Goasia supermarket, my favourite place to shopping in Germany. Clean store with very organised shelves with clear labels for me to locate foods and goods. Thousands of choices for cooking Chinese, Japanese, Korean and other Asian dishes.
Response: Hello 👋 Thanks a lot for Your visit! We’re glad to hear You had a great time at our store and found what You were searching for. By the way: Did You know we offer a 10 % discount every first Saturday of each month? I’m sure You’d find something nice and tasty! 😄 Yours, Felix go asia Team

Gottfried Kibelka: 5 stars because finding a sizeable Asia market inside a bookstore is a fun surprise. I found prices a bit high and the selection of cooking vines and teriyaki too limited but I ended up filling my backpack anyway.

Serin Jacob: Really wide selection, mostly good prices. They have an entire wall of ramen. Every kind and every price range you can imagine. I got like 25 items for 32€! Unfortunately location is a bit weird, inside a supermarket , you have to go all the way down to find it.

Darius Chira: The best Asian store I've seen. They have everything, well organized, and helpful staff. It's also the cleanest go asia I've been to

M: huge selection. I recommend getting the vegetarian beef jerky snack in the vegetarian section. it's incredibly awesome! I always come here to get them.

Mary Mustard: Enormous! A big selection of Asian products. One of the biggest Asian supermarkets in Berlin.

Daniel Villanueva Raisman: Very nice variety of Asian, mostly Chinese, ingredients, food, and even snacks. Overall, I would recommend it both for people looking for specific ingredients difficult to find in normal supermarkets or for those wanting to try something new.

A S: One of my fave supermarkets in Berlin. If you need real chilly then that is the place to go to. Also just anything like instant noodles, shrimp crackers, ramune, etc. Its all available. They also have a huge selection of tableware from Tokyo Studio. P.s. This is the place to go to if you need a 20kg sack of rice.

Chris C: Great selection of Asian cuisine and products like noodles, sauces, frozen food, produce, snacks, cookware and dishes. Great Raman selection with different brands and flavours. Love the extra spicy versions and the mama pho. Tasty frozen dumplings along with dipping vinegars are also another go to for me. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you are looking to create Asian dishes with authentic products. The prices are also very reasonable too.

Florence: Great place to find all kind of products. Very well presented. A very large frozen food section. And I'm sure 50 different sorts of soy sauce!!
Response: Hello Florence 👋 Thanks a lot for Your wonderful review! We are so happy to know You like our range of products that much. By the way: We offer a 10 % discount on every first Saturday of each month! We would be happy to see You again soon 😄 Yours Felix go asia Team

Grosses Horn: Love these guys...always new stuff from japan, quick delivery..my favorite is the shochu from iichiko, reminds me of my university time in Osaka :-)
Response: Thank you very much for your great evaluation! Happy to hear that you like iichiko as much as we do. We are looking at adding a few more shochus later this year. Check it out. ;-) All the best, your Ginza Team.

ky: hope you guys could also open a bar, that would be amazing!

Basti Ja: I've just received my order and I'm looking forward to finally enjoying the delicious taste of Mio sparkling sake in Germany again :) I also think it's great that you offer the big bottles! What would make me even happier if you also had "Suntory Chu-Hi / Horoyoi" - there are a few shops where you can order Chu-Hi, but only the strictly zero or calori (low-calorie) versions :/ Unfortunately, they don't taste that great! I also miss the "Lotte Liquor" fruit liqueurs like peach cherry etc., which are available in almost every second 7eleven in Tokyo - taste great too - unfortunately not discovered anywhere in Germany either. Maybe a gap in the market for you :)
Response: Hello Basti, thank you for your positive review. We are very glad that you like MIO Sparkling Sake as much as we do. :-) We are also big fans of Suntory's Chu-Hi, but it is not that easy to offer these products in Germany, as they are only available in tins. Germany has a can deposit and is an expensive and complicated matter through the DPG. In addition, due to the low alcohol content of Chu-Hi, falls to Alcopop tax. We had the Suntory Kaku Highball in the range at the time of founding, but with the additional tax and the can deposit this was unfortunately much too expensive. About Lotte Liquor: The product comes from Korea, currently we only have Japanese spirits in our program. But that does not always have to stay that way, so many thanks for the tip, these are really beautiful products. Enjoy MIO enjoyment and a nice Easter, Your Ginza team!

René Gruel: Great selection, excellent advice. And all of this with products that are difficult or impossible to obtain on the German market elsewhere. Perfect, keep it up!
Response: Hello Rene! Thank you for your great rating, we are very happy!

Sarah Schuelke: The best and most interesting gin ever. Only to recommend. Definitely worth a visit or an order!!! YUMMY!!!!!
Response: Dear Sarah, Thank you for your rating. We are glad that you like our gin. Greetings, your Ginza team!

Claudia Albert: Wonderful for Japan fans and if you want to give something special!
Response: Hello Claudia, thank you for your rating, we are very pleased that you like our portfolio. Kind regards, your Ginza team!

Marie Sommer: Great and rare spirits, prompt delivery!
Response: Hello Marie, Thank you for your great review. We are glad that you were satisfied. Best regards, your Ginza team!
