THE DUDE by Charly Berlin: what do users think?

Lotte Grundmann: Always such a pleasure staying here! The rooms are spacious, clean and safe. The beds are so comfortable and the location is perfect. I love the digital check in because it makes everything so quick and easy, really efficient. The Charly team is also so sweet, they have great Berlin recommendations. It’s so convenient that you can just message them on WhatsApp. For example, when we used the bikes; we just sent them a message and got the codes for the locks and could take the bikes! Can’t wait to check out the other Charly locations soon. Thanks for the great service!
Response: Dear Lotte, thanks a lot for your compliments. Best, Charly

Kirsi Maharaj: Had a long term stay at the hotel. All hotel staff were friendly (above and beyond Berlin standards) helpful and responsive by text. Room was clean and kitchen was well stocked. The location is great and the decor is very cute. Would highly recommend!
Response: Thank you so much for your kind words Kirsi! Really looking forward to host you again ☺️

Sinem Kartal: Great stay, I will be back. The design and the style of ‘hoteling’ is a new and great. Room size was enough for a long weekend trip, decor was great and communication of staff was great.
Response: Dear Sinem, thank you so much for your positive review. We are really happy about all your compliments. See you soon, Charly

Chris Abitbol: what a great little find in Berlin! the check-in process is smart and effective, the rooms are comfortable and practical, the location is PERFECT - all round excellent value and quality for money. Highly recommend.
Response: Dear Chris, thank you for writing this kind review. We hope to see you soon, Charly

Response: Dear Gavin, Thank you for your feedback and sorry that you do not like our rooms. Many of our guests come to us because they love the old building charm and historic style. Timea .T: The hotel seemed clean and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The decor is cute and overall well themed. However, there are no facilities to make drinks in the rooms (the water provided is charged for) and the wood floors, whilst beautiful, mean that you can hear everything in the corridor and made a lie in impossible.
Response: Hi Timea. T, thanks for your honest words. You are right, we just have a Nespresso Machine and kettle on our reception. This you can use the whole time for free :) The water costs 2,50€ this price is really good for the city centre. But berlin also have one of the best tab water from germany. We wish you all the best, kind regards Steffi

kathrin de silva: Super nice hotel and fantastic breakfast. ⭐️
Response: Dear kathrin de silva, 5 stars- wonderful, thank you for this and hope to se you soon again here. Best, Stefanie

katrin davy: Beautiful and comfortable hotel with great "feel-at-home" factor. When you walk in, coming in from the streets in the city center, you land immediately in a sunny and warm oasis of charm, culture, and a style I can only label "eclectic opulence" with warm colours - and I love the honesty bar :)Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 …More

Elle B: This is a beautiful hotel! Clean rooms, tall ceilings, overly friendly and courteous staff. Standard room has a separate bedroom, living room and full kitchen (washer is installed in the kitchen, so you can do laundry inside your room and dry your clothes on the balcony), tea kettle and coffee maker. They let us borrow the power adapter since mine wasn’t working (USA). Beautifully decorated, with gorgeous amenities in a great neighborhood. If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

Michal Herman: The friendliest place in Berlin by far.Excelente family rooms!!Spacious with everything you need. Ideal with small kids who needs bottles, for the kitchenette with a dish washer and fridge. Perfect city apartment for vacations in Berlin.Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 …More

Juha-Heikki Pasanen: Staff is very friendly, location is good (U-bahn ÷ several busses along Kurfürstendamm), the room is clean and cosy, breakfast is rich.Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 …More

Christy Agee: We absolutely loved this hotel! The suite was very spacious and comfortable. The spa was lovely and the kitchenette was fantastic as well! We wish the coffee would have been refilled complimentary, but all else was perfect. Be sure to enjoy breakfast and get their scrambled eggs with bacon!

Peter Milgrom: We were a couple in our late 60s in Berlin for a week for museums and music. The hotel was perfect. The size and set up of the deluxe suite with balcony over the garden was lovely. Beds and linens were high quality. It was great having a well equipped kitchen. Location was perfect for using public transportation. A grocery and fruit and vegetable store was nearby. Lots of local restaurants within minutes. Staff was extremely nice, helpful. We would recommend this hotel to other couples in a heartbeat.

Nick Clarke: Really nice place to stay. We had our own apartment with simple cooking facilities and living area. The staff were helpful and nice. For anyone travelling with children who values being able to give them a simple breakfast and their own bedroom, this is better and cheaper than somewhere fancy where you would all share a room and still pay more.
Response: Dear Mr. Clarke, thank you that you have chosen Louisa´s Place for your family stay. We are pleased to recognize that you could benefit from the advantages of our suites with two rooms and a fully equipped kitchen. We very much hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future. Kind regards Sven Schimank -managing partner-

Ted and Monika Semmens: What a great location for this lovely hotel. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and though the hotel sits on the busy and exciting Kurfürstendamm, the quality of the windows shut out all noise. The breakfasts were so delicious, beautifully presented and the breakfast room looks out onto a garden. The staff was friendly and helpful. A real find in wonderful Berlin.

francisco sanjuan: We have an excellent and comfortable days in this hotel. The reception was very kind and all the employees are interested in your service. The rooms are very quiet and without noise . The Spa it´s very good equipped and maintenance. You have a good restaurant in the hotel and a encouraged pub for drink some spirits.
Response: Dear Francisco Sanjuan, Thank you very much for your positive feedback. We are delighted to read that you had such an overall enjoyable stay and that you are satisfied with the services we provide. We look forward welcoming you back in the near future. Mark Strijack: Staying in the family annex rooms and completely satisfied with the service and amenities. Wonderful and friendly assistance and greeting from Stefan. Great area of Berlin and easy walk, drive or transit to downtown for tourist attractions. Highly recommend Unsre Kneipe restaurant next door and local restaurants and cafés.

Chelsea Blacker: Picasso Room details well taken care of in the design. Cash only seems a bit extreme for rooms costing hundreds of euro per night. Stefan (or was it Steven?) at the front desk is well informed and helpful. Some guests may do well to bring their own ‘real’ shampoo and conditioner - you receive the friendly BIO all-in-one in the shower. The Hotel managed a bit of construction work while guests about very well.

Tommi Labermo: Absolutely superb. We stayed at the Deluxe studio in the blue house. Superb service, the staff even noticed my birthday and sent up a free bottle of Prosecco. Excellent breakfast and a good location. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Nicole: The room is very stylish. I think the owner of hotel really like art, a lots of paintings and sculptures in the hotel.

matt spannagle: This place is great! 5 star facilities, but with charm. Loved it.

MrMarti2003: Great place off the usual tourist and big hotel chains. Loved it.

Walter Giessmann: I can recommend to everyone who likes style, peace and well-being, first-class services corresponding to the price and quality. Keep up the good work. We will definitely visit again. Thank you

Bastien Hattiger: Stayed there for the Berlin marathon. Staff was super nice, the room was comfortable and quiet. I’ll come back if I run this thing again! Thanks a lot!

Rens Hollanders: My third visit to this hotel, but my first after the renovation. They really created a good atmosphere in the hotel. Especially the new layout of where the breakfast was served is really good! The rooms have had a touch of fresh paint and overall this is a very nice hotel in a not so crowded neighborhood with plenty good restaurants nearby and public transport right around the corner. We really enjoyed our stay again.

Maddox Pratt: The style of the hotel is charming—early 1900s decor, Mucha prints on the walls, staff in period dress (all of whom were kind). Our room was comfortable and tastefully decorated and had tall ceilings and large windows. The bathroom was small but clean and aesthetically pleasing with black and white tile. The hotel provides soap and a body wash/shampoo combination but no conditioner or lotion. This was not an issue but something that may be useful for others to know. We opted for the quick breakfast add on which was croissants and coffee or tea. They also have a full breakfast buffet with cereal, eggs, toast, and spreads. Simple but it looked like good quality. The hotel also has an honor bar in the lobby with beer and wine (as well as an actual small bar with a few cocktails). The prices for the drinks from the lobby fridge are reasonably priced which is rare and much appreciated. Our one big issue with the hotel and which will likely make us choose a different hotel the next time we are in Berlin, is the hotel WiFi. While the hotel does have free WiFi, the signal is often weak, and drops out frequently, and is not always strong enough to stream videos or music without interruption. Room location might affect this, but our room definitely had an issue as did the lobby in the morning. If you do not need to use the internet much during your stay, then Henri Hotel is a great choice. It’s at a great price point for the quality of room and service. If you are a heavy internet user, you may want to stay somewhere else or call to see if there are rooms with better reception.
Response: Dear Maddox, Thank you much indeed for you balanced and detailed comment. I apreciate that very much. And I am impressed for all the time and attention it takes to write us. Your comment supports me in my intention to invest in a better WLAN-connection. So again, thanks a lot for your great input. All the best to you and with warmest regards from Berlin Susanne Klein Hotel Manager

Mohammad Ibrar: Excellent hotel! The service, attention to detail, and old-school atmosphere makes you feel like a very special guest. Rooms are chic and the lobby bar is inviting. Will definitely stay here again!
Response: Dear Mohammad, Thank you very much for your excellent comment - we ar looking forward to welcome you again! With warmest regards from Berlin Susanne Klein Hotelmanager

Fiona Chan: Charming hotel with larger than average rooms. Very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The whole hotel was renovated; still had that new paint smell. Perfect for business or leisure.
Response: Dear Fiona, thanks a lot for your lovely comment and your compliments. We hope to see you again soon! Your Henri-Team

Sue Page: Fantastic hotel. Beautifully clean, lovely staff and really lovely decor and atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious also. We have no complaints about anything 😊
Response: Dear Sue, Thank you so much for your fantastic comment - I really apreciate it! Yours, Susanne Klein Hotel Manager

Thanos Kritakis: Not your usual hotel. The old type French music playing at the reception and sitting area was a little annoying. Breakfast was nice and comfortable beds. I had room 310 . It would be impossible to have a smaller bathroom.

Emma Nikitina: My best hotel in Berlin. Have been in Berlin every year lately and always stayed at this hotel. Well located in the center, near the famous Kurfustdendamm. Impecable service, very good breakfast; especially attractive by its unique style of an authentic Art Nouveau decor. For whoever appreciates style and history.
Response: Dear Emma, Thank you so much for your enthusiastic comment - I love my HENRI Hotel, too :-) Warmest regards from Berlin Susanne Klein Hotel Manager

Meirav Minitzer: Lovely hotel. From one of the delicious breakfasts (they have a buffet and menu to choose from with exceptional quality ingredients ) , to completely silent rooms - seriously.. have never been to a more quiet hotel! And the friendliest most helpful staff , from reception to the breakfast service. I was also fortunate enough to enjoy a spa treatment which was the cherry on top! Fantastic hotel, sophisticated on every level. Looking forward to retuning next year.

Katherine Hardy: This hotel was beautiful, the room was very posh. Bed was so comfortable and I loved that the toilet/small sink were separated from the bath and vanity. It’s one of the nicest rooms I’ve stayed in. The gym was great, bonus for me it even had a peloton bike. Breakfast was amazing! The bar was closed one of the nights we stayed when it was scheduled to be open which was a small annoyance. On Mondays the restaurant is closed so we ordered off the bar menu and I had the grilled Gouda sandwich, would not recommend…I’m not sure if it was just an odd night but nothing about that sandwich was good. The staff was great and the two complaints weren’t enough of an issue to make this less than a five star review,

Kate: I had an impromptu stay here and loved it. It is such a cute and cozy art-nouveau style hotel. The receptionist was lovely and offered me fresh lemonade. The bar was nice, despite them only having 0,1 left for the wine I chose. They gave me some popcorn as well. The bed was heavenly. I loved the hand-drawn map of the area with suggestions and the short history of the building via QR code. I am often in the area but learned a lot more staying here. I would definitely stay here again. I was sad to leave! Thank you to the staff, you really made this place special to stay in.

Melanie Nettles: This Hotel and it’s employees go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Each of the staff members I was in contact with, were absolutely professional and genuinely attentive to make your stay a memorable and exceptional experience. The rooms deserve special recognition for cleanliness, thoughtfully selected furniture and well rounded accent pieces. It is very obvious that attention to detail is emphasized extensively. I am not easily impressed and pleased, but this Hotel, along with its employees, exceeded my expectations by far.

Barsbold Enkhee: Amazing hotel with most professional employees. Highly recommended to visit. From Lobby to your own room, you can experience something called "high standart" I am sure you can try lot of different things inside of this beautiful hotel. As I say, during your stay you can have rewarding experiences. There is a one of the best restaurant of Berlin inside of this hotel "Restaurant am Steinplatz". Of course you can have a breakfast here during your stay, but also there is business lunch and dinner. Which are great things to try and you are never gonna be dissapointed. Thanks for everything guys.

Ben Owen: I loved my stay here — very Berlin, from my beautiful and airy Marlene Dietrich room to the friendly and easygoing staff and the tasty breakfast spreads (very much worth the add-on). Clean, quiet and private environment. I’ll happily return.

Vural Aybar: Very central location, very close walking distance to the KaDeWe. The best part was to speak in Spanish with lovely Cristina who is a very professional and customer oriented staff at the reception there. She even made it possible to help me get breakfast earlier to make it on time to my conference. Totally recommended! And btw, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, the entire building is very historical and beautiful. And having breakfast whilst listening to classic music was very relaxing.

Jim Bob: This is a lovely little Hotel placed in a perfect spot with easy access to the underground the staff are very welcoming and the manager does a great job . On way here my flight was delayed but he hung back to greet me in I thoroughly enjoyed my long weekend stay 😃

Kim Moss: I stayed 7 nights and had breakfast 5 morning - I could not have asked for better accommodations, friendlier staff and a better breakfast, particularly for the price. It was a complete pleasure!Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 …More

Matt Hapeman: What a fantastic place! The room was very comfortable, the location very good as well, but the real distinction here is the service. Everyone we talked with was friendly as can be, and very accommodating. What surprised me the most: chit-chatting with Stefan we mentioned that Saturday was our anniversary, and then look what he did at breakfast as a total surprise! How nice is that?? There is no doubt in my mind that we will be staying here again!

Tomas Busse: It’s not the first time we stayed at this hotel and it’s always a pleasure, everything fits. Excellent price friendly and always helpful staff, excellent breakfast. There is nothing I could fault. If you want to have a perfect gay break in Berlin I can recommend this pace.

Miroto Markov: Amazing place with top service, great breakfast in a cosy atmosphere. All different kinds of rooms and mixed public. Very central.Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 …More

Charlie Jan: This pensionate is for people who like quirky hostel-like places to stay. The staff is lovely and fancy neighborhood. If you like fancy breakfast and superclean rooms- this is not your place. But if you like old places with a soul and red old velvelt carpets and big wooden furniture. This is really the place. I can easily see myself staying there again.

Sofie Fatouretchi Royer: best loveliest place to stay in berlin ever — an untouched gem with the nicest interior, original furniture in a belle époque style paying homage to the wonderful silent film actress — so much character! if only there was something this wonderful in every city it would make traveling so great! staff so friendly and immaculately clean! so so toll vielen lieben dank für den wunderschönen aufenthalt!

Radhi Ghanem: Very good value for money and it feels like traveling back in time 1920They even have one of those beautiful historic elevators. The room was clean and the location is amazing. The reception staff is very friendly and helpfulRooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 …More

Inge Donovan: Superb authentic stay in Berlin - a time machine into the 1920s, with beautifully preserved original art and furniture, a location still often used as a film set. The staff were incredibly friendly and eager to inform us about the the history of the hotel, the breakfast was delicious (homemade jam!), the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Highly recommended if you want to experience old Berlin, not highly recommended if you wish to lie in bed and watch TV (there are no electronic devices in any of the rooms).

Kristin Firth: While this older-style, historic accommodation will not be for everyone, we found the room spacious, the breakfast absolutely top-notch, and the hosts very helpful and welcoming. The faded decor could perhaps use a little refreshing, but the trade-off is a great rate in a central location, and we were happy with that.

Connie Cárdenas: Hotel-Pension Funk am Kurfürstendamm is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and gentle. The staff speaks very good English, and of course German. The room and toilets were always very clean. Soap, toilet paper and paper towels were always available. The hotel is located in an area well connected with public transportation. The neighborhood where the hotel is located is very quiet and in it you can find many shops. The Hotel-Pension Funk am Kurfürstendamm was a wonderful experience for me
