Tafelrunde: what do users think?

Jessica: As a non-German speaking tourist coming here, I definitely recommend this place. It was an unforgettable experience from the food to the sing-alongs. Very friendly staff~
Response: We are very pleased that we have managed to inspire you, as a non-German-speaking tourist, at the Tafelrunde. Thank you very much for your review!

Luke Astill: As the only people to not speak German we were made feel included and welcome. It was a fun interesting night. Would recommend for anyone visiting Berlin. Food was great, a fun communal atmosphere.
Response: The maids and servants of the round table thank you for this princely rating! Come by soon!

Peter Nordström: The atmosphere and the staff were very engaged and friendly. The bard was excellent but there was no juggler in sight. The big disappointment however was the quality of the food, that was very poor and extremely overpriced, hence the low rating.

Mylène Henry: Outstanding experience! We had a blast, the food was delicious, the staff was funny and made sure we had a great time. Hans, the musician, was a sweetheart and such a performer. We will be back. Auf die Gesundheit!
Response: Thank you very much for the overwhelming feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Auf die Gesundheit!

Matt Malloy: An awesome experience would recomend anyone traveling to Berlin must go

Merwin: If you want to know how people lived in middle age... Well this is a must for you. Good food, waiters are talking like hundreds of years ago, clothing like knights... Wanna feel like a princess? Love this place!

Vasip Siric: Ok

Volkskammer "DDR Restaurant": what do users think?

Zairynn Yazmi: Stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and what a great find! The restaurant is nice and clean, with charming DDR vibes that takes you back to the past. The service was kind and fast, with both German and English menus available. They were also accommodating to both single and group diners, and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal I had. Although I can’t remember the name of what I ate - it was meat, sauce with a side of cucumber salad and potatoes - delicious and comfortable. Portion size is generous too! They also offered raspberry fizz drink which is refreshing. If you are looking for authentic experience and great food, then you won’t be disappointed.

Alexandre Campos: Very interesting restaurant, old DDR style, you feel like coming back in time, witnessing a piece of history. Food wise, the dishes were well prepared and felt like home made and authentic. Even though they don’t speak English well, the staff was very friendly and made an effort to explain the dishes.

Alik: Very atmospheric GDR style restaurant, the tables and plates feel very GDR style. They serve dishes from former DDR so it is a must try in East Berlin. The food was basic but very tasty and very well cooked. The service was good and they spoke english.

Mister Fani: If you like the old school food front the DDR here is the perfect restaurant for you , first steps in the restaurant brings you in the old era. Good food and super atmosphere

Dale Hullegien: A fantastic experience if you want to have a tatste if old East Berlin DDR food! The restaurant feels authentic, some DDR furniture and props are around to look at / play with. Staff is very friendly and speak English! They take care of you. The food for so far we tested is great as what you expected. Tried a "goulash soup" and the famous "broiler chicken". Portions are medium to large, so enough food! Quality is great, everything was surprisingly flavorful. Location: its close to a railway station at a 6 minute walk and easy to spot from the road.

Aaron Chua: The ambience of this place is good. The food is quite fine. However, they charged me 3.80euro for a glass of water. I read the other reviews and therefore I asked for no water. But the water came and I thought it was free tap water and not the “still” water on the menu. Fell right into the trap by assuming wrong and drank the water. When the bill came, I asked the service staff, she wasn’t very kind. I’ll think this is not a place to go unless you know what you are getting yourself into. Beer is 3.9euro on the menu, why would I wanna drink a 3.8euro tap water? Mea culpa.

Nikos Skylakis: Solianka soup tasty , good environment , vodka is great ! Authentic atmosphere of the DDR period !

john bartlett: Excellent restaurant, hidden away off the main road. Great food, great atmosphere and outstanding staff. It was so good after our first visit, we returned 2 nights later!Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Artz Marques: This restaurant really brings you back to the soviet times. Genuine east German food. Staff was kind but extremely slow. We ordered the Russian soup and a goulash, they were both delicious. The sausage schnitzel was not my favourite, very heavy, but I think that has more to do with personal taste than the quality of food, so I kept it 4 stars.

Dimitris Damilos: Good food, good atmosphere, good prices. Must visit!

Nadia Afonichkina: Medieval atmosphere, live fireplace and one can even pay by card.

Anna: Food is as German as it can get. We paid 12,50 for a buffet type of meal. The atmosphere looks cool and the staff are friendly but I think you need to team up the meal with the show to really get into the mood. Definitely would be more fun with more people.

Florian Offergelt: Very old and historical building. They create an very antique atmosphere. Wer have been there for brunch. They offer a big buffet with a lot of delicious food. The service was very friendly and the prices are good!

Marguerite Dnz: Very nice place! You get really entertained all the diner long and the food is good. I have been there for a company party and I can definitely recommand for such events.

Janey B: Lovely food especially the home made mustard . Very helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful surroundings.

Dmitriy Noa: Awesome and very atmospheric place, feels like in medieval castle. Delicious Sunday brunch :)

Sławomir Adam: It,s big disappointmend. Dont recommend! And dont try wait on service...

Liam H Sheffield: First time visiting and the food and service were great. Generous portions but the quality of the traditional offerings was a step above other places we have visited in the past. Would definitely recommend visiting.

Tomás Fonseca: Hidden gem in Berlin. Went there for the Christmas menu and it was absolutely worth it. You need to reserve the table and you need to mention that you want the Christmas Goose menu. The cost is 54€ per person but it completely fine for the quality and quantity. The staff is also impeccable. Could not recommend moreFood: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Kin Kwan Choi: This is a historical restaurant with very welcoming service. If you want German meal at a lovely place with great atmosphere, this is the place. Bit pricey but it is a historical site so well worth it.

Uri Lira: In Berlin for a few days from the US (Chicago, IL) on a bday trip. I walked into Zur letzten Instanz looking for traditional German cuisine, and guess what. . . ? Service was exceptional! Dinner and dessert were exquisite!

Luis G Zermeño: All is great! Just if you are not German (aka too loud) you will get bad looks... beside that its an amazing real German placeFood: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

Alexandra Toader: As always a really nice experience.Had dinner with friends and everyone loved the place. Really friendly service.

Chris White: A charming little restaurant. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was a delight. Unfortunately I could only visit the once as all the other food looked amazing as well. I had the pigs knuckle (as per the English menu) and it was crispy on the outside and soft and delicious in the inside. I wish I could visit regularly. Highly recommended if you can only pass through as well.

Edith Schermer: Such an adorable and authentic place. We were looking for a low key German place and stumbled upon this beauty. Staff was super friendly and food amazing. As every German kitchen; got to be a meat lover. Will definitely come back soon.

Nenad Barbulj: Good

Sandy Werth: First class. From the service to the show :) Thank you very much for a wonderful evening with great food, lots of laughter and a great atmosphere or Janz a lot of amusement ;D

Birgit Nowak: Ambiance wonderfully unusual. Atmosphere and staff friendly cheerful. Entertainment really puts you in a good mood. The (vegetarian) food was delicious but unfortunately lukewarm at the table. The long tables with the benches for longer sitting quite uncomfortable. A little caution: the floor is uneven. But ALL guests can spend an entertaining evening.

Anita Rupnow: It was freezing cold in the hall, so you had to stay put in your thick winter jackets. It was supposed to be a company Christmas party, totally disappointing. Food was rather little and even in a winter jacket, there was no mood. Because of the cold, the food quickly got cold. The program was also rather boring... jokes that were very old. Clearly for me and my employees...... never reflected

Alber-Loscher Art: Great show 👍 Food absolutely delicious. All in all a very successful evening and definitely to be recommended.

Mira Chrominski: Well folks this is worth a visit. We come from Saxony and were kidnapped there, absolute cream this evening. Food and entertainment get 20 stars from me. Thanks guys for the nice evening

Ingo Zörkler: The food and atmosphere were good to very good. Unfortunately, you sometimes have to wait a long time for drinks, so that toasting together becomes a test of patience. Furthermore, the artistic guidance through the evening is certainly a matter of taste and tastes differ. But all in all, the jokes of the leader of the evening, if there were any, were at elementary school level, the other performances of the individual actors had no contextual connection. Somehow it was not a round thing.

O. “Oak” E.: We were guests on Wednesday, November 21st, 2018. In the course of a birthday party, we decided on this location. Due to the higher price for the evening event including a multi-course menu, we were initially concerned about whether the high expectations would be met. There were four of us on site and initially pleasantly surprised by the location in the middle of a market hall from the 1890s. The ambience had already convinced us, as it was definitely an alternative to conventional bars and theaters. The staff welcomed us in a very friendly manner and brought us to our seat. We were even lucky enough to get a table upgrade. :) We also really enjoyed the evening with show, dance, comedy and acrobatic acts. The mood was generally very happy among the guests. The food topped it all off, served by a very, very nice service team. Conclusion: A happy birthday child and three other guests drove home satisfied and happy. Thank you for the lovely evening. PS .: The drinks are not included with the meal, but convince with fair prices and a sufficient selection.

Bee Wee: Food was extremely delicious and they managed to serve almost at the same time and still not cold or overdone. Audience very mixed... at Christmas time just typical Christmas party audience. The entertainment is quite nice, everyone is trying very hard but not the blast. A little juggling here, a few jokes there,... the vocal part on the other hand is quite fun. Just the right thing to be entertained between courses. Staff super nice and accommodating.

Kyiv Senses Tours: Very nice budget location to have a snack with signature curry wurst and other German specialty like Paulaner Citrone beer. Nice location for a coffee break and light meal, low prices in a touristic location. Enjoyed it and definitely recommend for a short time break before visiting the Reichstag.

Iulia I: Very bad food. Buffed type restaurant, the food is very limited, they have just meat and potatoes. For how busy the place is, there are just two employee. I waited for more than 15 minutes at the queue. The place is an overpriced canteen. I got the fried chicken with potatoes, which was very oil and still red inside. Serving uncooked meat is very unsafe. Also the potatoes were very oily and Had a weird aftertaste, as if the pot they were cooked in was very dirty. I don’t recommend the place.

R C: Help!!! Someone! Anyone! Please help these poor workers here. They are being FORCED to serve people here, APPARENTLY against their will!! Take some of that money you’re making for overcharging tourists on the food (EXPENSIVE) and hire better workers. TERRIBLE SERVICE from people who look like they hate people, but YET are in the service industry??? 🤔 Food was good though. Watch out for the cheeky finches, they will attack your food if you give them a chance.

Nathy Knauf: Food was delicious, and generously served (1 schnitzel certainly serve 2 people), many desserts (apple pie was my favorite). Super friendly staff, nice atmosphere… little overpriced but worth it. Not just I recommend but I’ll come back again for sure.

Wendy Leung: We came here for a coffee break. Self service counter. The toilet is not free, bring some change with you.Food: 4/5 | Service: 3/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

A: Not a single vegetarian or vegan option. Sorry, a salad without dressing is not a meal. If I can buy vegan burgers at Netto in Thuringia, surely a restaurant in the center of Berlin can update its menu.

Tanya Kronfeld: Nice view, restaurant is beautiful, with live piano music. The menu is short and don’t have many variations. About the taste… we took duck. It tasted like chicken. The potato dumplings were without taste. All dishes were not so tasty. And we waited a lot of time for the food.

emma lucas: Great view of Berlin and up in the restaurant, rotation at a nice speed to take in a full 360° sat at leisure. Attentive waiter and treated like guests rather than tourists. We never had food so can only comment on drinks but the menu was reasonably priced considering the fantastic location.
Response: Hello, thank you very much for your kind words and your visit to our tower! We are very happy that we could give you a nice time and a good experience. Thank you very much for the description and the nice review. With kind regards. Your Berlin TV Tower Team

Andy F.: One of the highlights of Berlin and a must for tourists coming to see the city. Perfect views all around. We booked a table at their restaurant. The staff were very friendly and the rotating restaurant was a fun way to see the city. The food was good too and reasonably priced. You need to book in advance to secure a spot, but this was easy enough. You can book as far as three months ahead. Would definitely recommend!

Ghassan Zein: A MUST VISIT while in Berlin. Make sure to book the restaurant ticket online and pick the OUTER CIRCLE ticket which will show you the whole Berlin city from all sides. A really good experience to have while trying good food and drinks. Recommended for couples or even families. With the restaurant ticket you get to walk around the tower. Highly highly recommended!
Response: Thank you so much for your visit to restaurant Sphere and taking the time to write us such a wonderful review. We are very happy to hear that you have had a positive experience with us and would love to welcome you again in the future! Warm regards, Your Berlin TV Tower Team.

Šimon Birský: Great place to have a special dinner at! The views on city are spectacular, especially during sunset. The food is of high quality and the menu of 3 course dinner changes a few times a year. Definitely its an expperience worth the money. The staff is also very friendly and speak well english. The restaurant is making a turn twice per hour.

S T: Great to have experienced it, found it a little over rated & overpriced. The food was fine, nothing spectacular. Found the waiter to be very helpful, professional and friendly. We were not under any time pressure to leave on the scheduled 1 hour. Great views over Berlin.
Response: Thanks a lot for taking the time to review.

Hans Schepers: I came back to this restaurant after 6 years because it was so good the first time. Guess what, it got even better. Menu choices and the interior are traditional, the food is fantastic and the service is really nice. Have their special shot before dinner.

Eduard Ferreres: Very good food and generous portions. The waitress was very nice and we had a fantastic experience. Will come back.

Ibrahim El Moufti: One of the best schnitzel spots in Berlin ⭐️ Food quality 5/5 Amazing schnitzel with authentic potatoes on the side. Portion sizes are good. Value for money 5/5 Expect to pay around 25 to 30 Euros per person. Staff: 5/5 English speaking staff and super friendly and helpful.

Wendy Earwood: Delicious food. The perch was amazing and flavorful. It needed nothing to enhance the flavor. Simply devine and our waiter was great. Offered suggestions on food choices as well as drinks. Highly recommend.

Sophie chantry: The food was so delicious , the meat was tender , it was cooked to perfection and had us drooling at the mouth as we ate ‘ the staff was lovely and spoke amazing english so we were made to feel so comfortable’ would totally recommend if you want original German cuisine ‘ the atmosphere was a bonus ‘ it had an old fashioned atmosphere and music playing’ 10/10 would recommend ‘ they had veggie options so made it easy for my sister to find something aswell

Gae Saturno: A unique experience! Absolutely recommend to everybody. The management changed this year but they kept the traditional dishes and good quality. They also renovated the interior and it looks very well done in all small details. Can’t wait to come back!

Harry Springer: Welcoming restaurant with real German food and good service. Reservation recommended. We were there on a Monday and were lucky that a place could still be created for us.

Chris E.: This restaurant was recommended to us by a local. As such we had high expectations. They were all met. The food was great. The server friendly. We really liked that we were not rushed between starter and main course. Next time we are in Berlin we definitely come back.

Laura Payling: Absolutely incredible restaurant. Such an amazing chilled vibe, so relaxing. Beautiful music. Attentive waiters who make you feel relaxed and really care about your experience and love their restaurant. I would come back to Berlin just to go to this place. Of course, food was also incredible. Highly recommend!!!

Candy Morales: I sat at the bar since I was by myself & didn’t have a reservation. Definitely recommend checking online to see if you can make a reservation! There is outdoor seating but it’s covered with a tarp so it’s not too cold sitting out there. The bartender was super friendly, he gave me a menu(comes in English too) & spoke English. He asked what I wanted to drink & gave it to me asap. I was also able to order with him since all the waiters were running around. I ordered the bratwurst(it was recommended on the menu). The bratwurst came with steamed potatoes that had parsley on top & steamed red cabbage. The gravy that was under the bratwurst was AMAZING! I wish they would’ve drenched my bratwurst in it. Also ordered a cherry beer which was pretty good. It was one of the few that came in the bottle, mostly everything else was on tap which was cool. they also had different alcohol at the bar & brandy. The dessert looked amazing too but I got full from dinner itself. The ambiance overall was amazing!

Rebekah S: Dicke Wirtin is a very quaint classic German restaurant. The vibes are extremely cozy and local. The menu is filled with classic German cuisines and they sell Brandy that is made in the restaurant. You must try the Brandy that comes in many flavors. I had the Rhubarb and it was tasty. The schnitzel was also good and large portions.

Bianca W: Loved my visit at this restaurant. They were quite busy, but I managed to snag a small table. Staff are very friendly and cheeky and great to have a laugh with! The food is traditional German food, prepared freshly and served in large portions. Absolutely delicious!

Enmanuel Ortega: I am being forced to give the place 3 stars because although the food was extremely delicious for me and the people I was with and that the place is also very cozy and well decorated, the service was incredible unfriendly (and that is taking into account that I live in Berlin). All the waitress with whom we have contact with, were very rude and they one of them made a mistake and was even more angry. I personally will try not to visit the place anymore and feel sad about it, because the food was from heaven and the environment is very cool.

Tetiana Sotova: One of the favorite German restaurants in Berlin. Really good draft beer, they have different choices. Super good one is Schneider Weisse. Also really big variety of different spirits and Likörs. The food menu is standard German. Favorite is of course Eisbein or Leber♥️ Portions of dishes are super huge, I can only finish half, and always take the rest to go. The only minuses are: -the place is almost always super busy, better to reserve a table beforehand -the stuff would really dislike the fact that you only came for drinking, if you not gonna eat, most likely you won’t receive the table. Well it’s not a bar, so can make sense.

Christopher Tabing: Wanted to try some local German dishes while I was in town for a few days. Our server was friendly. Tried the pork schnitzel it was delicious paired with the lemon slices.

Benjaluck Fai Yuttisee: Tasty German food that feels very German. Meaty, potatoes, big portion. Nothing I would say special but that’s not a bad thing. I was there with friends and everyone was satisfied with their meals. The service was a bit slow but the staff was very nice and very friendly. The atmosphere was nice.

Millie Cheng: Cozy environment and nice staff! Yummy Pork Knuckle although it has only boiled Knuckle, it wont affect their taste Sour, spicy sauce mixed with salty pork is a stimulated option! It served with smashed peas and garlic, thus a few salad vegetables!

Erwin 020: Very centrally located is this typical German restaurant. You find most traditional dishes on the menu. I ordered a goulash soup as a starter, Berlin mix plate as a main course and chocolate ice with strawberries as dessert. All delicious! Staff is very friendly and bilingual. The interior is brown like the old times. The play nostalgic hits from there ‘90s music player. Even the phone is from last century and it still functions. All in all a great atmosphere.

FARANAK AMRAEI: The food , red wine and staff all were fantastic. We found this place through good reviews on Google. It didn’t disappoint at all. We will definitely go back again. We loved it.

Dzmitry Yudo: A bit touristy, but otherwise great. Everything we ordered tasted good and came in decent quantities. There are 7 beers on tap, including Weihenstephaner.
Response: Hi Dzmitry, well... tourist are all over the world. We can't change that, we are very grateful that the turists are visiting our city. You can learn a lot about the past in Berlin.

Laura Matuizaitė: Very good service. We like comfort food, so the sausages and meatballs were delicious. A nice place inside. Looks like an old typical German pub.

Rachel Lambert: Had the same dish, Berlin potato soup and Berliner Würst. As tasty as the last time. I was stuffed after. The staff were fantastic, anttentitive and courteous despite being busy.

Tatiana Efremova: Fantastic experience, in this place I fell in love with German cuisine! The portions are huge, so beware :) All courses were prepared with some original touch, and also rather quickly. The staff was super friendly, even though we came without reservation we were offered a sit. Our waitress was so kind and charming all the time, and she spoke English. Highly recommended!

John Durkin: An institution on its small corner of Berlin. Food is German local and massive portions. The salad and Berliner meatballs were more than enough for 2 people and if not enough extras can be ordered ala carte. The salad with nuts is nuts! I loved it. It’s home cooking style so do not expect a Michelin experience. Food is tasty and very meaty. Overall enjoyed it and a nice local experience. A few visitors but mostly locals. Drinks and beer only on the outdoor tables or the indoor pub like bar is ok too.

Murat Aydin: Good atmosphere if you want to meet and talk with your friends. Duck was nice but dumplings and cabbage were not very good.Food: 3/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Mert Hekimci: Great local place with real German dishes and some good beer selection. Far from tourist activity and part of a deeper Hackescher markt community. We had the duck and creamy baked potato dishes. Yummy...

Marcos Gutierrez: We were really satisfied by the special attention of Daniel, our spanish waiter. His service was really good, it was really easy as he made the understanding of the menú easy since we are also spanish. Really recommend it!! :)
Response: Thank you for the good rating and have a nice one!!! days in Berlin, Your Sophieneck team!

Aurelien Meyer: Loved the place and the atmosphere. very professional and polite staff. good white wines. A bit disappointed with the food. Bit salty and costly. The meat plate (49 €) is large and delicious, with different typical german meat types. Ice cream was tasteless.

Lisa Beuter (Lola-Berlin): Very high quality food and and a great menu. You can sit outside, if the weather is nice enough. If you go out early, you don’t need a reservation, if you go for a late Dinner a reservation is a good plan because it’s really busy after 7pm. The Service is professionell and nice. This place is great for Dates. The design inside of the restaurant is very chic.

Muhamed Mesic: Our fave Berlin place for brunch and coffee. Breakfast is served until 3pm, great selection of scrambled eggs on the menu. Friendly service, but the place can get very busy on weekends (reserve!)

Nergis Yılmaz: At the beginning, we have some issues for table selection. They were not that friendly and we couldn’t sit on the table which we want to but food was delicious and service was friendly. I recommend Trüffel ravioli. It was really delicious 😋 i also got creme brûlée as desert and it was ok. Probably i can visit again ☺️

Jakub Sowiński: One of my favorite places for Schnitzel.

Chris Wokral: Had a lovely visit, and thoroughly enjoyed the blueberry topped cheesecake. Likely one of the best I’ve had, In fact, I’m hesitant to leave a positive review as then more people might come and eat it all up on me, and when I come there will be none left. Boy. I hope this doesn’t happen.

Christian Debellis: Great place to eat at anytime of the day. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Been eating here for many years when visiting Berlin. Food and service is always consistent.

Liliana Carvalho: Excellent food and the owner is so so nice!
Response: Thank you dear Liliana, same to you regards Marc

Toto Dumans: Drinks not included on the brunch formula - turns out to be quite expensive if you take a coffee and an orange juice with your food
Response: Dear Toto, Thanks for your comment. As you may know, all products became more expensive in the last weeks. As you may have noticed, we work with high quality product. Thanks for staying with us last Sunday. Kind regards Marc

John Bouras: Ate a late lunch here while visiting Classic Remise. Food is prepared gourmet style, but with larger than gourmet portions. Service is excellent, friendly and inviting. Marc, the boss, introduced himself to me, and we had a pleasant conversation about old Corvettes. Very warm, well appointed, cafeteria style place. Highly recommended.

Rafieh Mosaheb: It was really a great experience serving Christmas dinner at this restaurant! We truly liked the Christmas menu: grandmother biscuit soup, grilled duck, and grandmother apple-cinnamon dessert...very delicious. Very friendly and caring staff.

Stella Cheung: The waiter was very helpful and nice. I was thinking to order a salad as starter and the pork knuckle as main but he suggested that I order only the main as I alone might not be able to finish both. He was willing to swap my side dish pea purée for salad, very accommodating. The portion size was so big! Love it and would recommend to anyone visiting Berlin.

Paco Rosas: Good/decent food but outrageous price for water. Avoid this tourist trap! After asking for tap water, the waiter brings you a bottle and then the price is 6.50 euros! The most expensive water I’ve had in my life. Won’t be coming back for sure.
Response: Hello Paco, thank you for your rating. Nice that our food tasted good. The price for our large bottle of mineral water is already in front of our entrance and on our drinks menu and online. Last week in Madrid I paid 10€ for a smaller bottle of water! Kind regards from Berlin, Mario
