Just Music GmbH: what do users think?

Abdo: Best music store in town. You can go there and spend hours with the instruments trying and testing everything you want. The staff is very friendly and helpful and musicians themselves. I bought 2 guitars there at once even though I could have brought them online.

faozan rizal. ICS: Music and sound equipment paradise ! Went here only to check up on mic and end up buying sound devices 😅 the store is amazing and great staff to advice on anything music

Hasmik Gasparyan: Very nice atmosphere and good service. They are so patient with all wierd habits of musicians to spend hours playing on the instrument in a separate room with all necessary acoustic devices, then coming back and saying i need to think about it. It's really amazing. Even not being a musician i wanted to buy something after seeing their atmosphere full of music and inspiration. Will probably return back for their small calimbas or ukulele. Btw, in the ground floor found nice presents for friends - music boxes for old-school lovers

João Gabriel Ferrazza Dias: Amazing!! A huge store, full of options! I focused more on the first floor, dedicated to pianos and keyboards, where they have headphones that you can use to test the instruments, and on the third floor where you can find guitars and basses and where they have rooms where you can test the acoustic guitars or plug the electric ones and test it in different amps. They also have a sale section on each floor, where you can find some exclusive deals with great prices. The store is located near from the Moritzplatz subway station, really easy to access. If you like music I highly recommend a visit!!

Josh Foley: Very helpful staff! Went in looking for a guitar case and they provided a range of styles and prices! Highly recommend for all your music needs!

Gian Luca Baldi: I felt so sorry for a such great shop like that, with a good instruments selection and a good position but ruined by its arrogant staff. I asked for a test of an expensive electronic drums, a board placed on the seat told that by asking to the staff there was this possibility. The reply was terrible: we are not here to joke, this is not a rehearsal room, so you might not test expensive instruments because if you damage them you must buy it. I don't question your policy, but how do you think you could sell mainly expensive stuff if you don't let to test them without being under threat? Are you sure that I can't afford it? Are you sure that I'm a joker and not a musician?

Fabian V: Super nice music store with massive selection. Staff is friendly and it's a lot of fun to try out the different devices and instruments. Prices are good, too. Can fully recommend it.

GoGo Tips: A lot of international customers at this store. It has a great collection of musical instruments and devices (microphones, cables, amps, Party Equipments, etc.) categorized in different sections. If you are a music lover, know how to play musical instrument(s) or want to learn a new instrument, it's a good place to spend a few hours, part with some money and invest in yourself! Have some fun there.

Екатерина Пономаренко: I am a regular customer of this store, but something happened today that made me give one star to this store. I went down to the first floor to pay for my order. It had to be handed over by workers from the upper floors in order for me to pay on the first floor. I approached a female cashier with red hair and a nose piercing. she asked me if I received my order, I misheard her question, because I'm just learning to speak English and it's a little stress for me, and I answered “yes”. After she gave me the check and said "thank you", I said that I didn’t receive my stuff and she should give it to me. It happens to everyone sometimes, doesn't it guys? After that, she started yelling at me and after the order was handed over by the employees late, she aggressively threw it on my table with a receipt. Please be more careful when selecting employees. This rude person has no place in your store.

Mikdog: Great place, largest music store I think I’ve ever been to. Lots of instruments available to be demo’d. Not sure how Google Maps knew this but I typed in ‘buy Midi Fighter’ and it pointed me to Just Music, and they had a single unit not even on display afaik, for sale. A rare find.

Robert Hartwig Berliner Buch- und Musikantiquariat: what do users think?

Yi An Yang: Brilliant collection of treasured scores and records at reasonable price, erudite owner, a must for every classical music lover visiting Berlin.

Mikhail Dubov: Even though the website hasn't been updated for a while, I can confirm the shop is open on Fridays and Saturdays as advertised (the owner is actually actively loooking for someone who could help with the site). Robert is a very nice and interesting man to talk to. He claims that his shop attracts musicians as famous as like Marc-André Hamelin when he comes to Berlin. Not a huge collection of scores/books/LPs but looks like there is always something new in it, and definitely worth visiting.

Riccardo Bozolo: On of the most wonderful shops for classical music and not only in Berlin. The owner had encounter so many famous people!! Luigi Nono the composer was there, Marc-André Hamelin the famous Canadian pianist also and many other famous artists! The owner it's so cultivated man about music and musicians you can find so many treasures there!!! I will return soon! The owner it's a very nice and good person can tell you about so many things! If you are in Berlin and you love classical music you must have to go there! So many CDs, LPs and sheet music! For so good and and honest prise!!! You cannot find better sorry.

Maria G: Fantastic shop, a very nice owner, who knows everything about opera ❤️ But you can find a lot of non vocal scores too.

Michelle Sui: Attention classical music fans/students: HUGE selection of LPs, CDs, music scores and books! Maybe the largest collection in Germany! There's always new products each time we visit. Price is very reasonable and much better than internet and other similar stores we visited. A few Tips: *Pay attention to the opening hours *Call to make an appointment *Follow their Facebook/Instagram for latest updates

Radim Bohacek: A great store for classical music books, sheet music, CD, and LP. Best in Berlin, Mr Hartwig knows everything about classical music, singers and can talk to you for hours. A great afternoon spent in the store.

Aaron Levin: Very nice selection of classical, ethnographic, and 20th century music. Prices are very good. Friendly owner. The store has many LPs. It’s helpful if you call or email the owner before hand if you have a special interest (note that response time over email is over a week). Very glad I went and can confirm that the store is, indeed, open!

whysoserious: To the Daniel Lighterman who posted above, and called himself a first-class pianist: There must be some clear misunderstanding here with the usage of "first class". I mean, first of all, excuse me, WHO are you? Herr Hartwig had met great classical musicians whom you could never imagine. And I don't think that you deserve the privilege of being served during extra hours. And plus, no musicians with basic manners would ask anyone to do that. I've been to Herr Hartwig's store for quite a few times with my husband, who plays cello. And we were constantly amazed by Herr Hartwig's vast knowledge in classical music. He is a kind, honest and interesting man in nature, and we always had great time talking with him. The prices are amazingly cheap for what their worth. If you have any further doubts, go and check other store or in Internet for yourself. I wrote this much because I hate to see people giving irresponsible comments, especially to small business like this. It may jeopardize someone's reputation, okay??

Teresa Alda: Inside Mr. Hartwig's seemingly small shop there is an impressive collection of music notes, CDs and LPs. The owner himself is an 'original' connoisseur. Fair price and lots of interesting surprises!

康豪杰: A Must-go in Berlin if you love classical music/jazz or if you are studying music. You can find records, music books, scores of all kinds. Appointments by phone are needed if you are not going at opening hours.

Dussmann das KulturKaufhaus: what do users think?

Hansi GO: Amazing bookshop in Berlin. Paradise for the book lovers and fans of paper supplies. It is a mandatory stop every time we go to Berlin. The english book section is also very good with a great selection of books. The children section i also amazing with a huge offer for all ages, topics and budgets. They just renovated their cashing area improving the sale experience! Great place a love it

Yanin N: First time in German bookstores -I love this quirky design and there are massive collections of books and merchandise items!!! You can immerse yourself all day at this place. I love its design and layout. Also, there are some chairs/seats scattered around. Also a dedicated area for English books 📚 📖 Would highly recommended!!!

Praveen Mehrotra: The high rating truly speak for this outlet. A three and half floor store dedicated to stationary, books and related items. Very high quality products which very nicely organised and on all floors there is an information desk. The staff is really helpful. And best part is, it is open till midnight.

Kim Arend: Loved this place! Right in the city centre yet somehow tranquil. Obviously the selection is massive and I am sure you will find anything you need.

360 MAGAZINE: Dussmann is one of the most iconic bookstores in German. It's a pleasure to recognize some of the most legendary members of American pop culture on display. From Michelle Obama to Michael Jackson, they have some of the most sought-after published projects. Art supplies, note books and additional keepsakes are readily available as well. There's no Barnes and Noble in the USA which can hold a candle to this whimsical institution especially during the holiday season. Honestly, this establishment could place runner-up to Saks Fifth Avenue for Christmas decorations.

María Fernanda Álvarez Martínez: A great and wholesome experience, 4 of the biggest floors filled with books, vinyls, cd's and souvenirs 🙈✨ it's a magical place, you can read some of the books they sell 📖 I

almo book: I like to visit bookstores. Dussmann is very big and good bookstores. I bought my favorite things in that bookstore.

Akshay Rote: Absolutely brilliant collection and a soothing place for all book lovers! Well it has a absolutely amazing English section as well!

Seve Chen: Absolutely loved it, i got some nice books there and also some hardcover Mangas. The multiple stories have some nice seating spots for some casual reading and the Papiterie sells nice pens. One of the few spots I would gladly spend an entire afternoon in.

Sakshi Awasare: Best book shop to shop for gifts and a large collection of music, music accessories. I love the gift wrapping paper collection here. Must visit if you are in Berlin. The international and English bookshop have some quirky and funny collection of books e.g. 50 things to do while you poo. Lol. One could easily spend hours here if you were a bookworm or gift collector.

Banzai Music GmbH: what do users think?

Chris Michas: What can i tell for these people! I faced an issue and they called me personally and explained what is going on. They did everything to make me satisfied to an extent that I have never encountered before in another company. I highly recommend them for your purchases!!6/5

Stephan Karr: Ordering process is efficient, invoice is downloadable making it more eco-friendly, shipment was quick. All in all very pleased !

Christer Mellaker: Good prices, great service.Have ordered from Banzai a few times now and am satisfied.

Øystein Redalen: Always a very good experience to shop from Banzai Music. I'm happy there's a supplier of hard to find components for my musical instruments and sonic gear here in Europe. Good decent pricing, good communication and customer support, fast shipping.

KiwiLab Beats: Worst experience ever. I waited almost a month to my order to be shipped. I finally wrote to assistance and I got some generic and irritating excuses. After that they stopped answering. I had to file a complaint on paypal to have my money back. Don't buy here, even if you'll get your money back you will end wasting a lot of time. Basically, you think you are buying something but you are lending them money instead, without getting any interest! Such a scammy business model, worst than a Ponzi scheme.

Denis Koshelev: During my entire life in Germany it’s doubtless the best shop ever concerning price, service and amicability. The boss is super nice and always ready to meet halfway to leave a customer satisfied. All the personal is also always nice and helpful, you can always ask anything and guys will try to find a necessary switch or whatever til you finally get it. So far best music shop that I have ever been in.

Keksi Jes: Always a frustrating experience when ordering. POSITIVE: I love the catalog, NEGATIVE: but the delivery times, back-order issues because the real stock doesn't match what the website says, when the parcel eventually arrives you can be sure there will be something missing, the difficulty trying to have that sorted, no parametric search on the website... It feels like they have grown and haven't had time to catch up, but these issues are not new. They certainly should consider reflecting upon themselves and reviewing their business structure. If the competition can do much better, why can't Banzai? My first order with them was in 2007, so I am rooting for them and want them to be better. I'd be more than happy to provide more feedback if needed!
Response: I am very sorry and I would be happy to get any pending issues sorted out. Also I would love to get more feedback on what can be improved since an outside view on things is very helpful. It would be most appreciated if you could give me a call or send an email since I cannot seem to make a connection from this post to who you actually are. Thank you! Ernesto

Coen Raad: A friend of mine mentioned me to visit the webshop of BanzaiMusic (BM). Although an almost unavoidable association with this name is quite obvious, it's still a German company (not Japanese 🧐). That friend is an electronic engineer and guitarist/sound engineer, just like me (although I am more of a starter in the world of musical electronics). Anyway, this company has an enourmous catalogue of products, varying from plectra to humbucker pick ups to resistors, capacitors, potmeters (for guitars & basses) and nice and affordable enclosures for all kinds of electronic devices esp. for DIY-guitar pedals, etcetera. Just a visit on their website is already amazing... To be honest, BM is not the cheapest one, especially when it comes to shipment costs (therefor it is better to order a lot of necessary items in one shipment/order, I suppose 🤗). The delivery from Germany to the Netherlands (where I live) takes a bit longer than expected, but that counts for most foreign webshop-like companies. Then, you will know if you are on a tight time-schedule... There is one minor point in their presentation, at least in my experience. It's indicated that most products are in stock (or indicated when there is a backorder of e.g. 3-4 weeks, etc.). So far so good. However, I selected only products that would be delivered/selected in 2-3 days. Unfortunately, it is my second time that despite this information a few items could not be delivered at the same time. And remained in 'backorder', although mainly without further specification on what time scheduld it will be delivered afterwards (I had to ask for it every time; not good). In practice, it means that you have to stay at home twice to accept the next shipment. In my opinion this information is not meant to be false or wrong (and of course it was not on purpose) but sometimes it is frustrating and annoying when you make up some plans for construction some musical device or instrument, etcetera... And you have to wait for another few weeks (and considering it might be purchased at once from another supplier...). That aspect must be improved. Therefore, BM receives a good 8+ out of a 10-scale). I believe it's an simple step for them to make it a 9 out of 10 when the underlying system(?) is adapted to avoid these 'faults'. Still worthwhile to give it a nice visit. All in one phrase: 'Keep the customer satisfied' 😇. Musical greetings from the Netherlands, Dr. C. Raad (aka Dr. Coenobite)

Modesto Vaquerano: I would not recommend this shop. Very bad and unresponsive customer service. According to my experience it seems that the customer has to take the initiative in order to figure out about their own orders. In addition to that it seems that they do not even know what they have in stock since the information on their website doe not match their current stock. Had some issues with some parts being promised but not delivered... twice! In the end I decided to order from another shop. Maybe I just had bad luck but such a sour experience definitely halts me from considering this shop for future purchases. Sorry Banzai, you definitely have a lot to improve on. Hope you do, such a pity if you do not.

Daniel Benaiche: The best in Europe !! you can find all the basics and many cool other stuff (NOS, pretty rare knobs...) and if they have it in stock shipping is reaaaally fast like really fast. Also prices are slightly lower than other websites

Ana šubic: a nice shop with lots to offer. Staff was very friendly as well.
Response: We thank you.

Carola Bleckmann: This is the most delightful music shop! A wide range of instruments, sheet music, and books, and the staff is highly competent as well as friendly and helpful. In addition, they have the most wonderful little music goodies - don't miss it!
Response: Thanks for your feedback. We really appreciate that. Hope to see you soon again.

Napoleon Bonaparte: This is a lovely music shop! Immediately greeted by friendly staff. Great range of sheet music in-store: many, many instruments. And lots of instruments too. Baby grand piano, quality electronic keyboards, all manner of acoustic guitars, I think I even saw a lute. There's some percussion, but no drum kits, electric guitars and not much woodwind or brass, but I saw cellos, violas and violins. And an amazing range of recorders. Nice sections for children too. Could have spent hours there, but I haven't practiced for ages!
Response: Thank you very much for your kind review. Hope to see you soon again.

Patricia Tiffany Wang: It's not really cozy place for music store but it's okay. If you want to look for complete classical books, it's right place to buy it. The sell piano, classical books, acoustic guitar and some accessories music. But I think it's not relatively complete as a music store. But you could try to visit it.
Response: Thank you for your comment. We really appreciate it. We are expanding our range of products constantly. It´s always worth to come back and have a little look around. :)

Andy Stratton: Just attended an ukulele workshop in the music shop today. It was great and I learned a lot. Thanks to the helpful staff to find the perfect ukulele for me too. Will definitely come back!
Response: Cheers Andy. Yes, that was fun on Saturday. If you have any questions about your uke don´t hesitate and give us a ring or pop in to our shop.

Raghad Alrez: very nice staff and reasonably priced. i fixed a friend's guitarre there and was able to leave it for few hours or you can leave it till the next day.
Response: Thank you very much. Really nice to hear. Take care.

Marina R: A dream music shop. Found everything I could had imagined and even more. People are nice and can speak english. Very good experience. Next time in Berlin for sure I will come back.
Response: Thank you very much! Thats lovely to hear. Hopefullly see you soon again.

Ranjit Prasad: Big selection of sheet music and instruments. Very nice people working there
Response: Thank you very much. Very kind.

Alex P: Friendly staff, nice selection of Ukes
Response: We are so happy your time at our store was enjoyable!

Gail Wiltshire: They ordered music from me, over a year ago. They asked to send it as quickly as possible , I sent it, from the USA & they refuse to pay for it!
Response: We are really sorry about your experience, but we can´t really think what it was all about really. You are welcome to send us an email. Greetings to the US.

Live Once: My favourite Musikladen, really lovely man fixed my Taylor babe even more than I was asking to and for a really nice price, I’m more than just satisfied:) thank you a lot :3

Tim Gallego: Telling a client who's in the shop for the first time "close the door, you always leave the door open and I'm cold in here" is not welcoming at all. I would have walked straight back out if I wasn't on a rush to get some guitar strings. Not coming back :)

Jonathan Veyrier: Great store !Very friendly !My favorite guitar doctor in Berlin !

Will Smith: Cool independent music store. Very helpful staff, worth a stop if you need supplies for a show.

Diego Romero: very kind, I bought a case for my turntable and I was very well attended.

Mario Silla: Very helpful and friendly

Ghuto Wazlawick: Great people

Pat Boxbike: Cooler Laden.

Markus Thomas: Super nice, fast service at a good price. After a week my guitar was like new! I will go back if I have a problem with my guitar.

Renato Pantera: Very good help with my urgent repair of power supply cable from mixer. Forehand now works again.

Record Store Berlin: what do users think?

Илија Господинов: A really great selection. Very kind service. Got several old pressings including the Jeff Beck Group, and I was even able to charge my phone while browsing. Thanks.

Raz drey megides: Very well organized and a unique atmosphere. Service can be given in both English and German. If you are looking for progressive-rock records, this place has a limited supply of them (but a lot of jazz).

GIsela Kämmerer: 1-40€ LP's

Tùng: A heaven for music lover and vinyl worshipper. Great collection. Very likeable owner. And it happens to be very close to the best croissant cafe in Berlin (just few min walking). Just perfect for a Saturday morning!

Deniz: The best of the best. Wonderfully curated and with a super knowledgeable owner (who's also incredibly friendly despite his quiet demeanor). This relatively tiny shop always has my arms full of gems I've been searching for. Highly recommended.

ROEE KALEV: Near the Tram station, this small shop is located. Mostly second hand vinyl and also some shellac 78 rpm. I went there on the Records Store Day but, unfortunately, the did not participated in the event, because they are mostly selling 2nd hand records. The owner knows A LOT! about music and he knew the answer to any question I asked him. You can listen to records there, and also I have to mention the younger girl there was very helpful! I got a 15% discount because it was RSD.

Lior Weizman: Cool medium sized store, very organised and kind service

YL Kao: First time visit - super cool record shop with loads of Jazz/Indie/Rock a place I can spend my time everyday without getting bored. Torsten got great taste of music and could be a good navigator to explore something new. Also nice coffee & croissant nearby.

Juan Pablo Picasso: Open Saturday until 20uhr, well located and the guys that work there are really polite

Zikadismus: For over 13 years now my personal favorite for finding the records I want and most of all finding the records I didn’t know I needed In my life. Every time I come here there is something new to discover and to broaden my musical horizon all thanks to the owner who always seems to know exactly what you might want. Highly recommended!

Firma Musicland: what do users think?

Gustavo Ricci: They will sent to you in a wrong address, will not help you with the solution and they gonna keep the money with them. Don’t recommend

Martin Lewis: Picked up some nice records, guy behind the counter was friendlier than expected (based on other reviews) like most German record shops though there was no noticeable pricing so a bit of bartering may be expected

lcaise: Really worth to check.

Richie Smith: Cool

ProudFangirl 2007: Super dear people. We searched the warehouse especially for me and got a great price for 4 CDs and a signed record. Will definitely go back next time when I'm in Berlin

Jessy Dew: Love the store. First place where I look for a record. The owner is great Call when there are orders. Without Musicland, Spandau would be at a great loss Support the small shops 🙌🏻

Eugen Herbst: A fine shop. Very nice owner and good selection! However, the second hand LPs, which are quite interesting, are at ground level and therefore not for people with back problems. I also didn't like the fact that the shop presented election advertising for the former SED party "Die Linke" in the shop. As someone who lost his brother through the border, that's an absolute no go. So it was my last visit.

Jörg Pferdmenges: Made a short visit while passing through. Selection of 2nd hand vinyl didn't convince me. Prices for new goods, on the other hand, were fair. Overall expectations were higher

Steve Seven (Aktivimpuls): Unfortunately I had to mothball my vinyl due to lack of space. I've shopped here for years and have always received good advice. An icon of the Berlin vinyl shops.

Martina Rothenburg: The right place for vinyl lovers to reminisce and search for times gone by. The owner is super nice and if you want you can indulge in old times with him. Grenade right. 🧡 Price-performance perfect and fair.

Dussmann the Museum Shop: what do users think?

Boris Matt: It's a souvenir shop, not a book store. You will find souvenirs, movies, music and books related to the television and cinema museum located in the same building. They do offer online order pickup 7 days a week.

P A: A bit pricey, but a great selection of good, thoughtful and funny books and merchandising stuff. Lots of english books. I usually browse the store while waiting for the movie to start at the movie theatre nearby.

Andrea Funes: I love Dussmann, even though I feel they are a little overpriced in some things. This store is nice to find things for small gifts too.

Monika Ūkelytė: A wonderful shop with amazing postcards, notebooks, books, games and everything else connected to cinema and TV.

Adil Bari: A relatively small depo of books and reading materials.

Maureen Robinson: Nice museum.

Raquel Pedro: Nice souvenirs!

Carlotta Benini: Shop under the cinema museum on Potsdamer Platz. Very nice, with choices of books on various subjects and cinema, DVDs, posters, T-shirts and small various things. I wouldn't call it a nerd shop, but a shop where you can find mainly German cinema books, and on the subject it has a variety of choices.

Sascha Fiebernitz: A paradise for film lovers, especially German films. Great selection of DVDs for many great films, you can browse for a good half hour and think about what to take with you. There is also no lack of literature, other film-related fan articles are also available. I myself bought an art print based on a draft for Fritz Lang's "Metropolis" last year, something like this can only be found here. A really great shop, and still only the little brother of the Kulturkaufhaus in Friedrichstrasse, but the range has been adapted to the Museum for Film and Television next door.

Wolfgang B: Interesting pieces to buy Sometimes it's worth browsing

Lior Weizman: A great record store, well organised, all in very good condition and great service! For some weird reason they don't give you the sleeve that protects the record... such a small thing that can easily bring them to 5 stars rating...

Dario Adamic: Excellent shop that is definitely worth stopping by if you´re in Berlin. All kinds of styles (Jazz, Soul, Indie, Heavy Metal, Rock,...) and well supplied. For someone exclusively looking for punk/hc records, I always find something for myself for a decent price. Very knowledgeable and honest owner, great photos on the walls, excellent selection of books,... All around great store!

Marrufo Coctelería: Super friendly and knowledgeable. The music selection is great. The type of stores that make going to a record shop a nice experience.

Ajay: Good collection of vinyl, neatly marked and organized according to genre. The owner/salesman was very friendly and nice, plus they accept card payments!

Luca Canini: Great shop with a wonderful selection of soul, r&b, funky and jazz reissues (blue note, seventies spiritual, free and a lot of rarities). Fantastic brazilian stuff. Recommended.

yk sfo: Amazing choice and it's getting better and better. Friendly service. Highly recommended

NO PLAN Records: One of those record stores that may surprise you. I personally look for punk and hardcore, and despite they don´t have a separate section for those genres, I always find good things there. Very reasonably priced, friendly and competent owner and above all, if you´re about to buy a bootleg thinking it´s an original, they´ll tell you. Variety of genres, records in great shape well taken care of (can´t remember I ever found a record lower than VG+) and helpful staff. Definitely worth your visit.

Frank Schulz: Very highly recommended for vinyl addicts and black music aficionados.

Jenna Van Der Westhuizen: Came here while on holiday and even returned later on for a second time. A lovely selection of records and a good shopping experience in general. Good prices too :)

Albert Valero: Awesome shop, nice selection and friendly staff.Credit card accepted which is a big plus.

Disconnect Gallery & Store Berlin: what do users think?

korfunkle: Awesome concept store with music, art and books. Constant exhibitions, evenings ranging from lectures and talks to screenings and visual performances. A very nice place to have a tea or a coffee and discover weird stuff from Berlin.

Mo Si: A beautiful shop full of intriguing art, books and records related to underground movements like the freetekno subculture and much more...always a pleasure to visit disconnect store🖤

Anne Gaudin: For sure one of the best place in Berlin to shop music, art and books, far away from mainstream. With also supa-dupa-good advice, given by people who know about what they talk about, and like it.

Håkan Jonsson: Super nice place with great selection of books, records and tea.

Ondrej Unzeitig: Ok vinyl shop. Underground music and gallery

Speedcore_er: Actually, there wasn't a nice shop there for a long time

Mogwa Bookstore at Water Tower: what do users think?

giovanni chietti: unlike many shopkeepers in berlin the owner is very friendly and courteous.beautiful bookshop that is definitely worth a visit!Really competitive prices!Absolutely recommended!

Rae Adams: Fun shop with lots of books, cards, stationary, etc!

Helena L: Cozy second hand library with a great book collection and gift shop. The staff is helpful and friendly.

Lucia AC: Great books, the owner helped me with my search. I look forward to going back soon 🍀🍀🍀

Viktoriia Garipova: Really nice shop with a rich choice of postcards, BUT they don’t sell stamps!!!

Sari Stillman: Fantastic selection of book. Great neighborhood store

Olga Fronczyk: So many beautiful things!

hannah m: Good book store! Nice atmosphere! Also half-price copies of defects for a small budget! In addition to a large selection of books, there are also some nice little toys, as well as decoration and stationery items. The staff are friendly too, so I always come back! Undoubtedly one of the best bookstores in Berlin!

Anna Meier: Wonderful and charming bookstore. Was actually only on the way to the tram, but I couldn't ignore it. Cozy atmosphere, perfect for rummaging around and discovering. Not the cold perfection of a big chain. I will definitely come back!

Felix Lepetit: The bookstore is very nice and you can buy everything else. However, nothing special and the conditions for the purchase are more than modest. Mindful that it is not a second-hand bookshop, I would have expected more! You do not live on used books, so the profit margin does not have to be that high, right? Conclusion: According to Google, two stars mean: not so good, three mean everything okay, and that's not it! But you can not give two stars for an otherwise nice bookstore!
Response: Dear Mr. Lepetit, but we are a modern antiquarian bookshop! All our books look like new. In addition, we have new children's books, stationery and records on offer. Yours sincerely Your MOGWA team

SpaceHall: what do users think?

Jose Pla Romero: Please do not review bad this shop, it is a heaven in Berlin. Nice people and lots of music. Kind and peaceful place. No credit card but, who cares about it?

Κλειτος Κλεαθθους: It's OK. Too many records, but poorly categorized. On the techno crates it could be from minimal to Hard techno. Cheapest records are 8.50.

Frank Hillemann: I ordered vinyl two times via discogs. The communication was helpful and fast. Pickup was possible and the staff in the shop was very friendly. They even searched for additional records as I asked for. The vinyl was in good condition as described and well packed. Thanks for everything! I will buy again and recommend this Spacehall ;)

Andrew Burton: Not a bad store, but I came under the impression this was the best shop in Berlin (per google reviews). A huge chunk of thier collection (being all the techno & house records I stopped by for) were not available for browsing/buying. I could see them in a huge blocked off room. What was available was mostly standard rock, hip-hop, etc. Very underwhelmed, a little confused, and disappointed I went out of my way to visit. In & out in 5min.

Maciej: It’s quite huge store and probably you will find some of gems from your wantlist, but… I was there only few times and everytime one of the seller seems to be incredibly unkind person. There is no possibility to pay by card (luckily there are ATMs close to the store).

Patrick Dermak: It used to be a record store famous for house & techno, but now it’s just a recorded storage. The techno section is closed. You are also not allowed to listen to music and do proper crate digging. I was looking forward to my visit, but I am very disappointed.

Emmanuel Gasser: Great vinyl selection, the techno section is insane. Could get lost in there for hours.

James Tittensor: One of the best record stores i have visited. The selection was pure quality. Great mix of original pressings and new special editions. Service was friendly. Very helpful.

FAUX CODA: DO NOT USE THEIR EXPEDITED SHIPPING SERVICE!!! I have never been treated so poorly by any business, in my life! 80 of my records did two round trips of the world as the package was too big for Australian standards. Whilst this may have been an honest mistake by Space Hall, when the records did arrive the cardboard box was smashed in and all records were super warped. It had not been packed with any protective material except for one thin sheet of styrofoam. So I tried to email Space Hall, first to find out about the package's whereabouts (as it had been 3 months since I sent them from Berlin), then to request a refund of shipping costs as the goods were so poorly packed and so many records were damaged. I never received any replies and they had the nerve to tell my German friend who called them on the phone "we have been emailing him, he must have given us the wrong email address"! During my time in Berlin I bought 90% of my records online and barely had any money every month to check out physical shops as well. When I arrived at Space Hall with my records they asked me where I'd bought them -- they didn't seem to believe my story and were very offended that I hadn't bought anything from their shop (in fact I had, at the Infrastructure 4x12" launch and forgot!). Nowhere on their advertising for the expedited shipping service does it stipulate that this is a requirement, but I feel it set the tone for how I would be treated as a customer. It's not normal for me to write about a bad business experience. But this was just beyond ridiculous. I gave them a lot of time to redeem themselves -- these records were sent in September 2016. I also "lost" 4 of the records I'd sent as well -- either Space Hall had lost them in the shop or taken for themselves... Avoid this place like the plague.

nelli vaiko: lovely lots of records very cool staff thank u :)

Rock Steady Records: what do users think?

Henry Burnett: When you walk into the shop, you are instantly met with a kind “Hallo” from the clerk. Looking around, you find something for everyone. There was a wide assortment of vinyl including many curated bins of albums sorted by genre and artist, plus many cardboard boxes of €2 albums (you may have to sift through a lot of records to find a treasure), rare singles on the wall, boxes of curated singles, and my favorite -- an entire bookshelf of €1 unsorted singles (plus if you look in back you can see two more shelves). While I was digging, the clerk played the Velvet Underground, Grand Funk Railroad, and then Coldplay, so this might give you an idea of the store’s tastes. On impulse, I bought a German Odeon Beatles 45 picture sleeve from the wall for €15, and when I got home I found it was not as rare as I had thought and I could have gotten it for less online. I was in Berlin for a week and I liked this shop enough to go twice.

redgamer821: I didn't find anything I specifically wanted, but I'd say that there is a large selection of cd's and records to choose from, and the owner was a sympathetic guy. I will be visiting in the future and would recommend. Edit: Came in the next day and found some newly delivered Sting/The Police cd's. Great stuff!

Radu Ruse: Helpful staff, good collection of different genres of rock: metal, punk, grunge, alternative and death metal. Also some disco, gospell. Nice location and shop. The price was fair and staff fair: rounded the price (discount)

Stuart Taylor: Wonderful selection and the owner was so friendly! He recommended visited the oldest pub in Berlin which is literally round the corner of the store. Definitely recommend!

Giedrius Kisonas: Very good store

ROBERTO VARANO: In one of my vinyl hunting rampages, I visited a lot of Berlin second hand records stores, this one was the one that came on top, lots of choice, well organized, friendly guy really applied himself in bringing me the mini crates with a large selection of the artists I was after, prices are average, but the service and the choice are excellent!!!!

tonewalk: Lots of stock, but seems rather overpriced.and there's no record deck for test plays.
Response: Tip for You: Fleemarket !!

lcaise: Super freundly guy, lot of stuff and reasonable prices. Recommended!

Almar Haas: Friendly staff, good collection, fair prices

Jonas Lantto: Super friendly and passionate owners. Lots and lots of records.

Checkpoint Guitars: what do users think?

Gary Turner: I booked a trip to Berlin 3 months ago to see family. I wanted to go shopping for pedals specifically. Went to a couple of shops that online advertised what they had. Arrived to them and nothing like what was online "available" Although Checkpoint don't open until afternoon I can't fault the service or the stock. If you research what you see is what you get. I found the staff to be very helpful and more than welcoming. I knew what I wanted and I was helped all the way. When I have time to return to Berlin I won't hesitate to return and make another purchase 👍👍👍👍👍

Marcin Wieczorek: I strongly do not recommend this shop - the owner seemed irritated that I want to try 2/3 amplifiers saying that all of them are broken so he cannot plug them in. When asking about a small amp he said that there's nothing and when I found one on display myself it took a lot of effort to convince him to plug it in. He looked down on me the whole time, it seemed like you need to wear a suit and a tie to be respected in this shop. They might have some interesting equipment but most of it is overpriced and the "service" makes you feel like an intruder.

Arn Lagazon: The guys here were very rude. They didn't want us to even touch the guitars much less allow my son to try out one. Not recommended for checking out guitars or stuff you might end up buying. We might have bought something if they were friendlier. Very different experience from the guitar store in Munich where one of the guys even jammed with my son--we bought some stuff from there and will definitely visit again when we are back in Munich. Avoid Checkpoint Guitars if you are a musician or a budding player visiting Berlin--or else be prepared for a very rude welcome.

Pinoccio Gugelfvkowski: After reading the negative Google Reviews, I decided to take a look at Checkpoint Guitars, even though most of their gear is out of my price range. I was met with friendly service and decent advice (was on the lookout for a tubescreamer-type pedal). The selection did include some decent guitars in a mid price range (among them some hidden gems) and there was quite a few pedals to check out. I tried a few guitars, didn't find anything I liked, but was still treated in a very friendly matter. Much recommended for anyone looking for vintage instruments and amps.

Maxwell Brown: I bought a thirty year old second hand precision bass and I am very happy with it so far. The shop is quite small so the range is not huge, but interesting. As far as I could tell all the guitars were second hand or vintage. The service in the shop was excellent. I spent about an hour trying basses and the owner seemed happy to let me compare basses to my heart's content. He seemed knowledgeable and was happy to answer my questions. His English was very good. I've read negative reviews for this shop; however, the owner informed me he had recently taken over the shop and the poor reviews were from when it was under its previous management.

Giuliano Iannotta: Not the biggest selection, but there are interesting instruments (especially used ones). Prices are ok. What's really frustrating though is that the opening hours are completely unreliable. 2 times out of 3 I got in front of their shop only to find the doors shut and a sign letting me know that for the next x weeks the shop will be closed because of a business trip. A hint: check their FB page first to avoid standing swearing in front of a metal grate like I did.

NF13344 VWT5: This place har some nice guitars, and i am pretty sure the staff has some good knowledge about what they are doing. However i think that the staff is pretty tired from tourists walking in to the shop, just looking and asking questions. That has resulted in pretty bad customer service. If you are coming to buy a guitar, this might be the place to be. If you however enter this shop from curiosity just to have a look or widen your knowledge of models and see what offers are available.. Or maybe to have a nice chat about guitars or ask som questions with an experienced seller.. Just dont bother. You will leave disappointed and sad.
Response: So the one star review is - for what exactly? Bad customer service? What customer service exactly do you actually mean? What did you buy or did we repair something you now wish to complain about? I was not aware that if no one was there, happy to have a nice chat or widen your knowledge about guitars is a bad customer service. How often did you experience that i.e. from Amazon, Guitar Center or Thomann? Do you review them with one star if you bought something and no one called you before or afterwards to chat? The truth is we really rarely have any complaints regarding our service or products. Our guitars are hand picked and most people think they are new whilst 95% are actually used. Please stay fair, even if your expectation was something different that day, we actually do talk to lots of people and advise, and tell them the way to the next bus stop, or where they can hear live music and so on and so on. But sometimes we don't have the time.

Michael: Have been to this shop on two seperate occasions, and on both occasions the owner went out of his way to be as rude as possible. The owner is a xenophobe, so if you can't speak German he'll make sure your unwelcome. Think his shop would be better served if he moved to Lichtenberg or Britz, away from pesky tourists and non nationals that might actually want to buy a guitar.

Jon Baugher: Living in Berlin and wanting to start look at vintage guitars. My budget is around €1,500 - € 2,000 € max. I made the mistake of going to this place. I show my interest in a guitar, guy asks me if I can play, I say "a little bit", he then blows me off and doesn't take it down saying they are getting ready to close (in 30 minutes!!) and I should come back tomorrow. Save yourself the miserable feeling of being excited to find something interesting in the storeto only be disppointed by the staff. My money is going elsewhere. These guys deserve this review. MfG aus Berlin, Jon P.S. Yikes!!! The response from the owner says it all.
Response: Oh I'm cool with that, and please make video calls with your family from that place too. Maybe they find it appropriate. MfG back

Dejjial K: In this store you can not try any instrument, unless you're absolutely sure you want to buy it right now. The staff doesn't understand that guitars need to be tried, compared with other and so on before being bought. I strongly don't recommend this store.
Response: It is quite clear that unfortunately we can not make everyone that comes to the shop happy. If you don't know how to spend an afternoon in Berlin, try some of the museums nearby or shopping at the Berlin Mall. And then of course go clubbing. Come back any time if you're serious about getting yourself an instrument. At that, we can help.
