Museum of Photography: what do users think?

Algimantė: Beautiful collection of photos. We visited two collections, both were very impressive. Museum isnt too big, but you will probably need 2 hours to take a closer look at everything.

Mihaela Sacara: Nice museum, big collection of photos by Helmut Newton and a room dedicated to architecture photography. Would be nice to have a bit more diversity, other types of photography, things about equipment, techniqueVisited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …More

Martin Schmid: Very aesthetically pleasing and good size, not too big, so you can visit the exhibition in 1-2 hours. I would have liked a little bit more background information on photography and the photographers. But still a very good museum.

Anthony Pendleton: The Candida Höfer and Helmut Newton exhibitions were marvellous. Staff very helpful and lots of great offers on books in the gift shop.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure …More

Hey Tony: Interesting museum with the different levels showing specific exhibits to view certain collections of photography. Some things are translated in English, but much wasn’t. A lot of female nudity at points which perhaps isn’t really an issue in an artistic sense, though something I noticed. I found it odd how there was little to no male nudity to juxtapose, but such is such. I didn’t know the artists well since I wandered into this museum. Some of the exhibits were either very detailed, such as the one about Los Angeles, which glorified it a little too much at points, LA ain’t that great, or had sparse detail in English. It just kind of felt like I was looking at a bunch of nudity after a while. Perhaps the choice of exhibits, not too sure. If one is into photography collection, this is an interesting place to visit. Staff speak little English but are helpful.

Peter Felis: Exactly what to expect from a Photography museum. Excellent Photos, well presented and inspiring. The Entrance is really overwhelming with the 4 enormous photos. Took me two hours, but very well spent time.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …More

Evgeniia Vesnina: I’ve been here twice and both times I was impressed by exhibitions. even Helmut Newton foundation is interesting to rewatch! and a special love to book shop inside the museum highly recommend to visit this museum during Berlin visitVisited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …More

Albane Voisin: We came in 2017. We enjoyed our visit a lot at Camera Work!Current exhibition then (april 2017 ) was about Jean Baptiste Huyn photos: superb!

Chitra Ganesh: There was no entry fee, and one can spend as much time as they like, to look.

Mark Beauchamp: Great little gallery. if the exhibit o is anything you are interested in seeing, it is a must go.

Martin U Waltz: excellent commercial photo gallery, great location, program a bit on the conventional side. yet if in berlin and interested in photography, this is a must see.

Helmut Newton Foundation: what do users think?

Christakis Psyllides: Well worth the visit. Allow at least 2 hours to wonder around all the galleries including the permanent exhibitions. Fantastic. No café, which is disappointing (hence the 4 stars) but apart from that if you are into photography or just like to spot some of the most important movie stars of the last 60 years or so caught on old school celluloid, go take a look.

Hamit Ferhat Hazar: Amazing place. Every month first Sunday is a museum day free admission

Jasmijn R: beautiful collection! very nice people working there. lovely to see the life of helmut newton and all the pictures he has taken. Brands exhibit i would highly recommend !! Also don’t miss their book store as they have great deals for amazing books :)!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …More

H S: This museum is not actual photography museum, but rather a museum showing Helmuts’ own work, his area of focus was in bodies and was mostly involved with celebrities and naked photos, personally was not something I’d want to visit to learn about photography as a whole but just to simply see his work and his fascination in bodies! Yes that’s why it’s mostly nudes 😂

Can Rusen: Lovely location, it feels somewhat rugged and rough around the edges, but that lends to the whole atmosphere in the museum. The exhibition was excellent, particularly enjoyed the private collaction of HW. So if you‘re in Berlin, don‘t miss.

german mairen: Best Helmut Newton you can ever see. The building is nice and the photographs are well distributed and organized. Totally recommended!

z k: very nice exhibition there was a lot of helmet newton’s work but we also go to see some other photographers (i added a few pictures), overall i recommend visiting the museum a lot ;))

Thomas Schmidt: Everything displayed here has more historical value than artistic value.

RAM IMAGERY: An incredible opportunity to get up close and personal with one of THE masters of photography. Been wanting to come here for a while and happy to have finally visited. Inspiring & satisfying to say the least.

C/O Berlin: what do users think?

Bordenrat 7: I think this is a space that i will keep coming back to every couple of months. The current exhibition was very much soul touching and weirdly coincided with the book I am reading currently. But on a sidenote, it would be nice to have some free exhibitions as well.

Fatma Hassan: A very easy to reach Exhibition, at the time of visit, it displayed works for (Susan Meiselas), there was free admission, the people working there were friendly.. .. I would definitely love to pay more visits to it in the future

behnam Pi (Behnam): C/O Berlin has a lot to offer to the photography enthusiasts. They usually have great exhibitions on and it’s always worth visiting.

Andreas Schmidt: Standard fare photography exhibition platform showing all the usual crowd pleasing suspects in the photo world. The cafe is alright. The book shop is mediocre and has entry level and popular photo books. The whole enterprise feels like a Starbucks for photography. However, on rare occasions they put on great exhibitions like “Send me an Image” or the Lee Friedlander retrospective in 2021.

Mateusz J. Nowak: my second visit after years away and it still lives up to my very fond recollections. C/O boasts inclusive and engaging curation ☺️Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …More

Regina Vitányi: Super cool exhibition space with inspiring curation and versatile exhibitions, really redefining the classic "white box" gallery experience

DAR F: The whole area is just amazing. The studios are... Wow.

Mariya Klochkova: A very nice gallery with a number of well thought out exhibitions, a café and an art book store.

Trang Ha: I came twice and will come regularly in the future. It’s a small gallery space but well organized. The expos are exclusively for photography and/or similar media with various artists, old and new (in general, more contemporary vibe i’d say). Because of the diversity of topics, you might like or dislike the content on display but everyone should find something nice there. Highly recommended. Don’t forget student card ;> (I do not own the works shown in the images)

BBA Gallery: what do users think?

Cheesetalk Sun: I presented my work here. When I remotely set up my work, I received so much help from gallery. Luckily I see my work in person finally! It’s perfect…. BBA is truly professional and warm.

Fran Forman: I’ve heard that Berlin has a vibrant art scene, and I was eager to see and experience it for myself. But it was BBA Gallery that was exhibiting the most impressive work I saw. Moreover, the staff is well-informed, helpful, and friendly. Their expertise and curation should be a model for all art galleries.

Renata Dutree: Outstanding artist run gallery that specializes in contemporary art. Being artist themselves, they are very tapped into “the zeitgeist” with their exhibitions and their selection of high quality artworks. I had the pleasure to be shortlisted for their BBA Photography Prize and be part of their exhibitions twice. Meeting this amazing team that is running this beautiful gallery was very inspiring. The supportive staff is equally amazing. They are the nicest gallery holders I’ve ever met and they are both very knowledgeable and supportive for their represented artists. It might be well worth to add one of their artworks to your collection, as they have a nose for a new generation of international artistic talent. If there is one gallery I would like to be represented by it is theirs. Make sure you pay a visit when you are in Berlin.

Katarina Kudelova: I knew the BBA gallery through the BBA Artist Prize 2022. The team is very dynamic, cheerful and professional. The BBA Artist Prize exhibition is a very high quality event in terms of the selection of artists. The exhibition takes place in a magnificent space in Berlin: The Kühlhaus. Communication on social networks is very active and rich. I am happy to have participated in this professional and human event. And I will be happy to come and exhibit in the BBA gallery next year !

Ming Lu: BBA gallery has an amazing team taking care of their artists. Working with the Gallery for nearly two years, everyone of the team has been truly supportive and trustworthy. This Berlin gallery space has a great rotation of exhibitions showing a variety of authentic and insightful works.

Kristina Varaksina: Wonderful owners Nele and Renata have an impeccable eye for outstanding artwork and talented artists while offering good prices and the highest quality of the purchased artwork. For me as an artist, it has been a pleasure and honour to work with them over the last year. Highly recommended to art collectors and artists as well!

Suzanne Mullins: A lovely gallery run by friendly people! We have twice bought a painting and a photograph at BBA gallery whilst visiting Berlin, both times art and paperwork have been delivered promptly to our London address. There are lots of different exhibitions, well worth a look.

Joolz: A beautiful space for contemporary art with thoughtful, creative and egalitarian curating. The artist-led team know how to put on a show, and are passionate about promoting artists to a wide audience. Worth a trip to visit the gallery and worth checking out opportunities for their annual prizes and competitions too.

ROBERT MORAT | GALLERY BERLIN: what do users think?

Klervi Dalibot: A small but very nice gallery: the exhibition I saw there was devoted to territories and how humans shape them. Superb photos, and an accompaniment with cartels and a small explanatory note very precisely carried out.

Liborius Thiede: A place where you can spend your time nice and still learn something fun I look at the pictures and stand to admire sculptures and even to learn the background information the entry is justified not too expensive and you can go anywhere with a stroller. Definitely worth a visit if you do not know what to do or just have time point at the moment, the special exhibition is highly recommended.

Rosemarie Schallnus: A very beautiful expressive series of photos on the subject of "Hinterland" by Hans-Christian Schink invites you to linger and think a. They are the quiet images of remembering Places behind the omnipresent hustle and bustle.

Martin U Waltz: Regular great photo exhibitions. A real highlight in Berlin for photo fans.

Heinz Ambig: Good work, pleasant atmosphere. A must for photo fans in Berlin.

Burkhard “Surfsegel” Kitzerow: A very appealing photo exhibition, recommended

Matthias Werner: Very nice rooms

Galerie Springer Berlin: what do users think?

Anja Müller: I was in Berlin for EMOP 2018 and saw a lot of banal, inconsequential and bad things. The Springer Gallery was a pleasant exception - the exhibition with photographs by Ute and Werner Mahler was a real revelation. Pictures that capture. Each for itself and again in context in the well-chosen hanging. The tasteful soft music (was that Bach?) And the friendly little gallery dog rounded off the visit. Many Thanks!

Klaus Mellenthin: One of the most important galleries for photography in Berlin.
