Foto Schilling: what do users think?

Bruno Valentim: Very cool shop. Amazing collection of cameras and old lenses with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Most Analog Material for the freak within you.

David Jazay: Friendly, helpful and competent staff. A camera shop just like in the good old days.

vasilis: The owner doesn't want to speak English, he is very unfriendly, he kept turning his back to me and doing something else!

Stian Overdahl: Good selection

Lenny Productions: *Best shop in Berlin for analogue cameras* Good advice and fair prices I was there last week with my broken Minolta and after a few tweaks it went again. I received very competent advice on this and bought a tele zoom. The shop really has everything you need for analogue cameras and the seller took his time and is very competent.

Golden Skull Art: Super friendly and competent service. Went to the analysis with a vintage camera bought online and left the shop with a big smile despite a disastrous result, thanks to the friendly service. The one I bought online is going back and I'll get the next one right here! For old cameras this will now be my first port of call!

Johanna Maria: Great, quick advice. I had a problem with my analog camera and they helped me straight away and explained how to swap the films myself. Thanks very much !

Emillio Schuhmacher: The store was very tidy and there was a large selection. The seller was very friendly and helpful. I would love to come back. Can only be recommended!

Sean Arntz: Store with a good selection and fair prices. Perfect place to buy your first analog camera.

Lukas Lanicek: My camera stopped working after a fall. Fortunately, the nice gentlemen were able to quickly repair the camera again! Highly recommended!

Calumet Photo Video Berlin: what do users think?

Tiger: I came in to remove dust from my sensor on my camera, and a young man with glasses helped me so generously, and even lent me equipments like screw drivers and pressured air cleaner for free. He explained everything so clearly, even in English. The products are so well selected in the store, I bought a very nice camera bag. It’s been a while since the last time I walked out of the store, so excited to shoot some footage, all because of how lovely the employee was. One employee where I did the final payment with (possibly the head manager) strongly told me “NO!” to a simple question: if they offer any camera check up services, which left a bit of a strange feeling, but I’m sure it was not personal. Aside from that, it was a lovely time visiting!

sumera Kamel: Paul was very helpful in advising me the correct gadgets for my work. I left feeling happy. The team here is wonderful. Thank you again

Tong Liu: I ordered a lens here, and the staff said it would arrive within 2 days. Now I've been waiting for almost a month and still haven't seen my lens. Call them to inquire about the situation, they always say it’s on the way, will it take a month to transport from Hamburg to Berlin? Every time their reply is on the way, there is nothing we can do, they will not give any meaningful solution. Very bad experience! ! !
Response: Dear Calumet customer, I am sorry to hear that we were not able to deliver your order in a timely fashion. Unfortunately I do not have any further details regarding your order and I would like to ask you to contact me at our customer service. Looking forward for your request. Best regards Ricardo, Head of Customer Service

Alex Craddock: I went to the shop and it wasnt in stock so I ordered on the website where it listed as in stock. I got no order confirmation email with the details, half the items weren't in stock, I waited, chased it up months later and still nothing, its now 9 months later, still nothing, the items are still listed as in stock on their website when its not true. I asked for a refund and they ignored me. I asked them again and still waiting. Awful awful service, dont trust them.
Response: Dear Calumet customer, I am sorry that you are unsatisfied with our service. Also, I am a bit surprised because this is not the service we are aiming at. Unfortunately I do not have any further details regarding your order and I would be happy if you could contact me at our customer service so I can find a solution. Looking forward to your request. Best regards. Ricardo, Head of Customer Service Calumet

Cesario Oliva: Impeccable service and counceling, the staff members helped me throughout the process of choosing a camera i wasn't completely sure about yet. I bought a used camera that came from the Hamburg store - the delivery was fast and the comunication via email and telephone neat. When i had to replace the charger i just bought, everything was easy going. Last but not least, a really big plus: as a non-native German speaker comunicating in German, I never felt under pressure while rudimentary expressing my doubts and questions. I can't but highly reccoment it!

Alex Archimbaud: Great service rendered from a highly knowledgeable staff member who helped me find exactly what I needed: a tiny tripod for my trusty rangefinders. Not easy, I had to go to three different shops before I found his. Danke Calumet! FYI, it was the Gitzo Mini Traveler which I can highly reccomend.

Ian Thornton: A proper camera shop! Lots of stock on display, some well priced used kit too, plus competitively-priced on new gear. And good service from people who know what they're talking about! Fully recommended, and only a few minutes walk from Hauptbahnhof.

Roman Geber: Well stocked on everything from compact cameras to high end pro equipment. Impressive rental arsenal. But also plenty of bags, backpacks, tripods, adapters and other odds and ends needed for photography. Staff is super friendly and helpful. They are happy to answer questions and offer advice where needed. Yet one may also just browse in peace without the shop assistants constantly offering to "be of service". Great experience to shop for new gear at this amazing store.

Jordan Piche: Great selection of all things photography. Staff is also very friendly.

Bastian Greshake Tzovaras: Good service and quick turnaround for sensor cleaning.

FOTOIMPEX GmbH: what do users think?

Mørningstar: I had a great service when I was at the store to develop my film roll. The only issue was, they said my scans are gonna be ready in an hour and I’ll receive an email. I got the email with my scans after 3+ hours. Not a major problem, but I wish they were more precise when giving me the time frame.

Lena Hilfiker Tomas: It has been one month since I brought my films to develop here. I was told it would take 4 days to get a download link for the scans and one to two weeks to get the developed rolls. I have been to the store and told to come back thrice just to always get told it is normal and that I should just wait. I get it it is not their fault if the laboratory they cooperate with is operating at full capacity but you should manage expectations and customer service better regardless.

claire zee: Having been a returning customer over the years spending a lot of money on film, development and disposable cameras, I recently dropped off two sets of b&w film to be developed. I was told I would have my digital copies within two weeks. After three weeks passed without any copies, I called the store probably 10 times, spoke to the store manager, the lab, went to the store physically to look for my film and was constantly told that I should be patient my film is probably somewhere in the lab. After 6 weeks of trying to get an answer on where my film was, one of the store managers finally responded to my email and made an effort to try and find my film, only to let me know they LOST IT 🤯. Precious memories, time spent with precious people dear to me, are now gone. The store manager informed me they’ll reimburse the film and the costs for development, DUH 🙄, but that’s it! No explanation, no further offering out of courtesy to compensate me for the lost film, precious memories and 6 weeks of trying to get an answer on where my film was. Typical German ‘customer service’ in my honest opinion. Will not spend any more money here, ever.

Thierry: Came by to this shop during my stay in Berlin, as i needed few more rolls of film for my camera. Very nice shop with a huge choice on camera films, from differents formats and makers, in b&w or color. Definitely I'll come back again on my next berlin stay!
Response: Thank you Thierry, and we are hoping you had a great stay in Berlin! We are looking forward to welcoming you again, both in the city and in the store!

Evie McMahon: Don't Bring your films here!! Brought one roll of black and white film here, and was most unprofessional service. He took my film and I had to ask him if he also wanted to take my email so I could receive the pictures. Then only after I paid he let me know it would take 2 whole weeks!! crazy long time. Although I had been charged 12 euros in the shop, I later received an email that said it only cost 10.08 euros?? After two weeks had past I needed to go to the shop to complain and ask where my scans are. Also not very friendly vibe in the shop. Finally received my scans but I will never go back there.

Jahan Saber (Do You Develop): I've been ordering my supplies and visiting the store here for some time now and it's always been a pleasure to walk in and have a chat with whoever is in the store that day. Everyone has been very friendly to me and i'm always tempted to spend a lot more money here .. I've read through some of the reviews about the film developing and unfortunately can't really comment on that part. Only once I dropped off two rolls here for black and white developing and asked for contact sheets. The rolls were developed within a week I think and the scans were clean and crisp, but the contact sheets I never got. It was also not noted anywhere that they still "owe" me two contact sheets. The reason I still left 5 stars though is that as a semi-berliner, i've learned that the city is completely understaffed and unqualified in terms of film processing. So far i've yet to find a lab that offers a quick turn around and equally high quality scans/prints/negatives. I've tried many different labs for developing and most of them either took way too long or cometeply destroyed(!) my negatives. Fotoimpex is a great store though and despite the film processing issues, I would recommend anyone to go here and buy their material. Plus, if you buy your film here, you're directly supporting Adox, which means you're helping keep film alive and enabling a company to grow that we all love.

Kristina Foster: Avoid going here at all costs. After receiving an email that my film had been developed and that I could expect my scan to be sent in a few days, it took two more weeks of following up before they came back and told me the film was 'empty' because it wasn't inserted into the camera properly. This has never happened to me before and my camera would simply not work if the film wasn't fitted properly. I wish I had read the reviews of this place before going as it seems to be a frequent complaint that film is lost or incorrectly developed, which was probably the case here. When I went to pick up my refund they only reimbursed me for the scan cost and not the development cost. So I basically paid five euros for absolutely nothing. On top of this, not a word of apology from the owner, who just stood there as he let his much younger employee handle the uncomfortable situation of the refund. Terrible service all around.

Pere Manresa: Really regret going to this place and spending money here. I saw how a person was treated disrespectfully, because they were a foreigner! Rude attitude with RACIST notes. On top of that, they’re super slow in their service, take forever to develop the films. Never coming back here.
Response: Dear Pere, Thank you very much for bringing this incident to our attention. This is absolutely inacceptable, and we will have a serious discussion with the team to make sure this never happens again. As for lab service, the current b/w turnaround times are about 10-12 working days, while C-41 is around 5 working days. Those are the normal times for many professional labs. We are aiming at keeping our lab services running as smooth and efficient as possible, even when going through a high season. If the turnaround times for your films were longer than this, it is rather out of ordinary. We are sorry you had to wait for the processing, and we hope you liked the quality of the lab work!

Angelo Brandes: Awesome film lab with a great selection of local brands, books and magazines.
Response: Dear Angelo, thank you for this review! We will be happy to welcome you at Fotoimpex again!

Ian Jindal: Delightful, specialist store with film, chemicals and processing equipment for analogue photography. Limited stock, some looks a bit tired, but nicely presented, knowledgeable staff and a treasure trove.
Response: Dear Ian, Thank you very much for your kind words and nice review! And hopefully see you again soon!

Fotomax Berlin - Fotofachgeschäft Foto-Akademie & Fotostudio: what do users think?

Barry Taylor: 2 x AG13 LR44 batteries cost me €10. That's extortionate. I have previously bought them for €4 in a different Berlin camera shop and even cheaper for x 10 online which I'd ideally not do. I was stuck at the time, but maybe there was a mistake?

Stefan Scholz: Among the photo stores that are still in existance, this one is a great experience. Very knowledgeable and super friendly personell, a great selection of new and used gear, plus a top consultancy. They offer photographic film as well, and support for analog gear. So far everything is as good as possible. My first review did focus on a bad experience with a warranty issue. But we all know, if something wants to go wrong, how hard you may try to avoid it, it will go wrong. This is life, at the end all fine and perfectly solved.

Kimberly Lauren Bryant: Great selection and incredibly helpful staff - knowledgeable, professional, friendly. I am really glad I found this store! It's my go-to for photography and video gear. The online website is also good. Highly recommend. They also have an interesting, high quality array of vintage cameras for sale for those who enjoy collecting for aesthetic / historical purposes.

Andrew Reid (EOSHD): Top service and prices. Superb range of vintage lenses! Bought Minolta 28mm f2 and Contax Zeiss 45mm for use on digital with adapter. Also some interesting Polaroid kits! Nice guys and pleasant to deal with, so will be there on my next visit to Berlin. Cheers!
Response: Hello Andew, thank you very much for your detailed rating review. As a Photo Shop with a new approach to the customers of Berlin we want and always try to offer a top service that can stand up with the wide range of new and used camera products that we have. We kindly wait for your next visit and we wish you a lot of fun with your new lenses.

john Aoun: Very friendly staff, ready to help and answer all questions. We accidentally found this shop, and was the only one who had the lens we were searching for in 3 different shops and couldn't find it.
Response: Hello John, thank you very much for the kind words and the 5 Stars review. We're happy that we could help you and provide you with all the informations needed. We kindly wait for your next visit in our Shop and we wish you all the best.

Ash “AJP” P: Amazing! The guys were so helpful and professional! Highly recommend especially for last minute passport photos

Birge Sükrü Tok: I visited the store to sell my old camera and upgrade to a different model. The price I got for it was low, but one of the best deals I got in a physical store. What was unexpected was the extremely rich selection of vintage lenses and cameras. So I had to visit the store again on the same day to take a better look at it. The prices for these are higher than for private sellers, but you get a 2-year warranty and you can be sure that it has been objectively and professionally overhauled. Otherwise you have to take the lens apart, clean it, replace worn parts and possibly repair it yourself. This often takes time, and for some lenses - I'm staring at Zeiss, with their complex lenses - it's just not worth it. The on-site advice is simply great, you can tell that the specialist knows everything very well and is happy to degenerate into a nice conversation. Definitely a store I will visit more often!

Guido H.: Competent and friendly advice. Good choice. Gladly again.

F B: Neither performance, nor service, nor responsibility. Be careful, you will be tempted to buy expensive products! A delivery is lost, something like this can always happen, but as a seller you should behave professionally and fairly. Unfortunately, this is not even remotely the case with Fotomax. When ordering, as with a rather dubious shop, you only receive an order confirmation in order to hide behind a non-binding contract in case of doubt. After all, you don't want to take responsibility for what you sell. If the order is then sent, you receive neither a message nor a tracking number, although it is sent with UPS. In my case, the goods did not arrive and only after umpteen attempts to reach someone by phone or e-mail was I told that the package could not be found at UPS and that they would submit a follow-up request. This should take about 48 hours. 3 days later: Nothing had happened and I had to ask again myself, whereupon I was told that UPS had not yet answered and that it could take longer before Christmas. We made an agreement that I would be informed about the status in a week. 10 days later: As always, no one has contacted us. The first attempts to make contact by email or phone were fruitless, not only because when someone was on the phone, they never knew, but always wanted to ask their colleagues, but also because you were put on hold and then simply ended the call would. After some back and forth, it was assured by phone and email that an adequate replacement would be delivered, since it was the last item. A new article was selected, which was a bit expensive and suddenly the difference had to be paid and no one knew anything more about any assurances that a replacement should be made. Something like that would not be common and would also be prohibited by the company's own terms and conditions. The request to speak to the supervisor or the managing director was only acknowledged "She won't be back until mid-January". The agreement that someone would then contact us for further processing was also ignored again and the amount was simply paid back (well, at least something). The damage caused that all offers for this item at other shops have already expired, bad luck! In short, a professional, serious and also fair business conduct definitely looks different. Therefore, it is better to look for a reliable and trustworthy shop!

El fe: I would give more stars. I came with an old analog camera and mechanical problems in tow. After I was otherwise advised to just get a new one because it would not be profitable - within 20 minutes all were fixed and the whole thing just for a smile. Thank you so much for that.

Meister Camera E.K.: what do users think?

john Aoun: Very nice and well entertained shop, I appreciated the fact that they care about customers and try to keep a high "LEICA" shop standard, even though they are not directly related to the Leica factory. The staff is well trained, have a big knowledge in camera's and lenses, and they recommend and give advices.

Kirill Iordanskiy: Place to go for anything to do with Leica cameras - new, used + service. Please note, there is no service onsite, product will be sent to Leica in Wetzlar and it will take some time

John Rikard Nilsen: The service is great and as a returning customer they make you feel valued. Ive bought all my Leica gear from them, new and second hand. They will buy your old gear for a fair price.

Message Pads: Good reaction to meet the customer expectations and sound advices provided.

Mark Rich (Sir Marky): Lovely products but staff look down upon and haven't time for those who appear to be without large amounts of money to spend on Leica products. Not rude, just aloof. I was put out and visited the Leica store at KaDeWe for a better experience and what I wanted.

Adalstein Hjelm: Just bought a used Leica MP (Typ 240) and the service was nothing short of stellar. Bodo and Nico did everything to ensure that the purchase went smoothly and exceeded my expectations in every way. Professionalism from A to Z. Thank you meisters and hopefully I will be doing business with you very soon again. Cheers from Iceland. Vielen Dank.

tayard buranakarl: Very good in customer service mind. Very kind staff and promptly to help your guy see any of product with out hesitation.

Kris Sukhu: Great location, lovely staff and very comprehensive selection of equipment. A great Leica shop.

Tae Young Lee: nice shop

Robert Hendrickson: Meister Camera is always so Friendly and helpful and never pushy to buy. Absolute professionals.

Foto Leistenschneider: what do users think?

Ed Fulton: A very good place for a photographer's needs. I have been a customer here for about ten years, since before the present owners took the shop over. Sound advice from friendly staff, not at all pushy. Competitive prices on the whole for major purchases (in my experience), which is just when trying something out, handling it, and listening to advice is the most useful. But I don't buy (for example) my filters here.

Izabel Moraes: Would not recommend AT ALL if you want photos for your pass. The pictures I took there look so bright that one would think I don't actually have a nose. The guy who took the pictures didn't even bother to cut them. Then on my way I found a "Fotofix Automat" and got MUCH better pictures for a nicer price. But pity, I simply lost 10 EUR in this awful shop.

Stian Overdahl: Sold me poor quality second hand goods

Abbi Harr: No help with my card and rude about it

Miriam Novoa: Excellent

MARTIN IVANOV: Good team!

Michael Pauliks: Luckily it was Sunday evening. The temptations in the shop window for used goods are just too tempting! And yes, it's always worth stopping by! Because not everything used can be found on the website :) In any case, of course, Foto Leistenschneider with both of its branches in Berlin is one of the top addresses. The advice is excellent as are the prices. Incidentally, there is also great support on the telephone. Even when it comes to really special topics such as autofocus adapters for Leica M shards on a wide variety of bodies with their respective sensor properties. Hats off to all the extremely friendly colleagues at Leistenschneider! They all know your business. Clear tip!

Andreas P.: Visited for the first time in December 2022 on the occasion of the FIT, Photo Info Days. Classic photography shop, side street on Kurfürstendamm, easily accessible by bus and train. Apparently great offer. Very orderly at the FIT, each of the big brands has its information stand, brand representatives present. Of course, such events are primarily sales fairs. In advance I had booked three photo walks with my camera manufacturer, such events lasting one to several hours are offered by the manufacturers at these "fairs" for the visitor almost free of charge. But the whole thing has to fit into the concept of Leistenschneider. From this point of view, the day yesterday was well organized. To the great surprise of my companion and I, the photo walks at the manufacturer with the capital "C" in the name were not fully booked, so we had the opportunity for a two-on-two walk early on, i.e. two trainers for two visitors. At noon there were five of us, then only three in the afternoon. There was always a male and female trainer with us, that's not always the case and, as mentioned, it was our great luck, because it turned out to be a kind of individual training by professionals. Many thanks to Foto Leistenschneider for the great organization of the photo info days and a big thank you to Nadja and Olaf for their patience and the valuable tips and advice on photography.

Leo S: Nice store with a large selection and fair prices. However, I wished for a more talkative seller with better advice.

Ferdinand der Schnelle: I wanted to buy a power station and had already looked into it extensively. In the search for slightly better prices than what can be found on the fly, I came across last cutters that you can supposedly bargain with. That actually worked, so that I was initially 50 euros below the market price, now already 100 euros below, because the other providers have increased their prices again this week. My friend went to the store and got the power station, which anyway is better than the usual couriers who throw the boxes rather than carry them.

Foto-Meyer Digital Imaging: what do users think?

Mark Turner: Great location and an excellent selection of cameras and accessories. The service is top notch. They will price match up to a certain price if you ask nicely. The prices are great anyway. I support local businesses because they are important. Give them a shot and you will be very satisfied.

Prince Yadav: I attended a workshop there. The place is ohk, experience is nice, some after class hands on and getting tips from mentor, make sense of workshop for beginners. I think they also resales the camera and accessories but i haven't bought any of them so, don't know much about it. But give it a try, place seems trustworthy ✌️🙂

James Campbell: Nice photo shop. They have analog stuff, u can get some cheap second hand equipment, and the staff is pretty good.

Chandan B S: Extensive collection of cameras. There are dedicated areas from different camera manufacturers in their place where you can try out the models you are interested to purchase. Very limited discounts. Staff do offer decent advice if you are looking for accessories. It was a pleasant and happy experience!

Sid Patil: Amazing place, it’s full of camera equipment and you’ll find the right stuff here. The staff is super nice and welcoming and will guide you. They have new stuff and their collection of preowned lenses is vast as well. I’d recommend checking their website for what you need before visiting.

C: I came here for the third time for passport/ID photos, as the first two times (years apart) were good. Overall the vibe was less friendly and attentive than before, but not horrible. BUT the Bureau then rejected the photos Meyer shot because they did not meet international biometric standards (my mouth was slightly open). So for the next 10 years I will identify myself with a bad surprise emergency machine photo taken after coming in from the rain. I did get my money back, but the photographer gave no more than a sullen look, and her colleague complained that the Bureau was too strict. I find these reactions surprising and unprofessional after such a fundamental mistake in a neighborhood shop that is supposed to know its stuff.
Response: Dear C, thank you for your honest feedback and please accept our apologies. All photos taken by our photographers according to official biometrical standards are double checked to guarantee that they meet the respective standards. Therefore it is very uncommon for any of our photos to not be accepted. This hardly ever happens at all. We understand, however, that this explanation does not help you in your particular case. We made a mistake. Please be assured that we do not take this easy at all. What could we offer? Would you be interested in an additional photo shoot for free? Maybe you‘d like a new photo (biometric or not) for other purposes? We‘d really like to win you back as our satisfied customer. If you‘d like to give us that chance, please contact me at studio@fotomeyer.de. Please refer to your review and my response. Thank you and again we are very sorry! Kind regards Vincent Meyer

Víctor H Quiroz Castro: They have tons of equipment and accessories for photography and binoculars. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Totally recommended.

Konstantin Fernau: Greta Service. Staff is very knowledgable, prices are normal.

John Groenendijk: Good service, they reserved a lens for me, 1 star left because via the e-mail they gave me 80 euro for my used objective, in the shop they changed this to 20 euro!

M M Mahler: First of - the Crew is really friendly! I came to this shop because I wanted to sell my Camera. A set for the camera (bag + belt and lens) is available at ~500€ in local stores. On Rebuy I would get 300€ for the Camera alone. So I thought of supporting local business but I have to say - I was very dissapointed. Even though the camera was in near perfect condition, because we never used it, they offered me 100€ for the Camera. Saying I got the whole set to sell too and on Rebuy I would get 300€ did not change anything. The shop argumented that they have to sell guarantee too and tax etc. which is just a plain useless argument. Guarantee is nothing that should drive the price down over 66% and the tax can be put onto the customer. To sum it up - Maybe for buying Cameras this shop is pretty good but for seeling your equipment - use dedicated services like rebuy. It is not worth the travel.

Reza “ray-ray” Pahlevi: Just went here to check out MFT offerings, either by Olympus or Panasonic. I saw that they have some bodies and lenses for rent online, so I thought to pay a visit to see them in person. Unfortunately, there was no mft as far as I can see. MFT users probably should look elsewhere.
Response: Sorry, we don‘t offer MFT in Berlin. Our Rent-List says, that different goods can be at different places. We run five outlets in northern germany. MFT rent is only in Bremen at the moment. Please give us a call next time. As you may have seen, we are more into pro-photo businesses. We appreciated your visit. Best regards, Thomas (managing director)

Mark Bachmann: Great store for photographer's. You get products for Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm and Sony here. I would say it's a mid price range. Service employees are really friendly and helpful. They offer clients great solutions for their problems. On the backyard are some parking spots available. The shop offers a great rental service for camera's, lenses and equipment. Always the first choice for camera's.
Response: Thanks

Christian Vieler: Sensational service. During a two-day shoot in Berlin, I realized right from the start that I didn't have the battery I needed. Without this battery (or replacement device) I could have sent some customers home again. Within a very short time, a courier service was helping me from one end of the city to the other and I was able to continue working. Top: I didn't have to buy anything ... I was offered the in-house rental service.
Response: Thanks very much!

Andreas Lau: This is how service works - thank you and see you soon
Response: Thank you very much :-)

Julia Weiss: As far as I can hear, the Henselblitz program is here now, which is commendable and could make things right for me. Otherwise, I haven't been there for a long time after I was treated in a rather condescending manner. That's not how you treat professionals or amateurs.
Response: Hello, that should not happen of course. Sorry for that, as far as I know my staff is treated professional neither amateur nor condescending. Give us another chance. Yours sincerely, T.Pollack, GF

Thomas Rentmeister: Very friendly and patient specialist advice, with technical problems everything is tried to solve them. Am very happy with the service!
Response: Many Thanks. That's our pleasure.

Murat Karabey: Super competent staff and professional advice. I can highly recommend. Always my pleasure.
Response: Thank you very much. Thank you.

Frank Johannes: my favorite pro photo shop! Always reliable and competent and mmn the best, friendliest advice in Berlin.
Response: Thanks very much!

Ava Pivot: Great advice, always up to date. Can be 1000% RECOMMENDED to every professional and amateur!
Response: Thanks a lot.

Frank Löhmer (Photography): For me the best specialist retailer in the city of Berlin... Advice - service - reliability all top!
Response: Thanks!

Camera shop: what do users think?

James Mckinnon: This isn't my go-to shop, but I've been here quite a few times to buy film and occasionally a lens. I've always had a pleasant experience. It's no frills and honest. It's probably not the place to ask how to load film into your camera or ask about every camera without the intention of buying.

Guilherme Caeiro: Went there with two Mini-DV tapes to be scanned. In the end paid 14 euros for a DVD. Got home, the DVD had 3 minutes of footage. Went back, the guy working there, I assume it's the owner, confirmed the DVD had only 3 minutes of footage. I said I didn't want it and wanted my money back, he said there was nothing on the tapes (I confirmed on the camera, the tapes had Footage) and refused to give the money back. I suggested I gave me 10 back and kept 4. He still refused. I think the guys stealing wallets at Alexanderplatz have a more honest life than this guy.

David Xplorer: They have a great selection of 35 and 120 films but the gentleman at the front desk was so unfriendly and rude that I wish I’ll never go back.

Michael Bartosek: Decent selection of vintage cameras and good film selection - 35mm, 120, Polaroid! Friendly service!

Jack Wolf: Great advice, great service, great prices.

Andri: Unfriendly treatment

Francis Broek: very insightful and friendly man. Just ask him to speak English before you start 😂

Miroslav Strniste: Hello public, we have a question for you, it is purely for information only. What do you think the average price of this camera is? Thank you for all the contributions and we look forward to more contributions

Thomas Scharfstädt: Here you can get a large selection of excellent cameras from East and West Germany, Japanese brands and more. In addition, lenses of a rare kind. And always good advice. One of the best addresses in Berlin for lovers of classic film cameras. Attention: Not open every day.

TheDude27: Super unfriendly service and very snapped. It's best not to ask if you can put the digitized cd on your own usb stick because it's unacceptable not to have a cd drive. Incredibly conceited and outrageous...

Bjorn Havelock: Bad job. Didn’t repair my camera, made it worse. Then lied to me about the issue. DO NOT go here if you value your equipment and want it repaired in a timely and professional manner.

Chip Schewe: Took over a month to repair my camera and when I got it back it was even worse than before. Definitely would NOT recommend this shop.

Calum Johnston: This guy literally knew what type of battery I needed before I even got the camera out. He proceeded to reach into a drawer of indescribable objects and withdraw the perfect one, installed it, and tested the camera for no extra charge. What more could you possibly want from your local camera shop. Five stars without a shadow of a doubt.

Abdelaziz Aziz: really experinced, totally recommend it

Ke Gn: Bad service. Bad repair. Bad attitude.

Jürgen Hall: Mr. Scheider, as the long-standing owner of FotoVideo Günther, is a pleasant, technically adept person to talk to. He is also always open to financial aspects, which may be due to his attitude or his clientele. He was able to answer every question I've asked him to date. Mr. Scheider is always helpful and always has an idea for a solution. I trust him completely and occasionally like to visit him in his shop at Karl-Marx-Strasse 192 in Berlin-Neukölln for a short chat. Anyone who appreciates this form of advice and such a purchase is in good hands with Mr. Scheider at FotoVideo Günther.

Kelsey Gneiting: Unfortunately not recommended. I paid 90 euros for a sensor to be repaired and cleaned on a camera. The price was listed as 60 euros and I was told it would be ready in a week. A week later I went to pick up the camera and the owner told me that it wasn't ready and that it would cost 90 euros to fix it. I said yes please do it A month later I finally got my camera back. I went home to test it and the sensor was even worse than before. Then the owner lied and told me that the small spots in the picture were from the scratches on the lens (although he had previously told me that the scratches were imperceptible).

Manuela Schiffke: My Tamron lens 28 - 300 for the Nikon F80 is damaged and cannot be repaired. Foto-Günther was recommended to me and I was not disappointed. Within 4 days I had a new lens for my analogue camera, which was now 20 years old. Super performance 👍👍.

Gregor: I just called there and had a special request, which unfortunately was not in stock there. The seller recognized that I would like to have the lens today and referred me to a colleague who might have it in stock. I call that social! Will continue to inquire here in the future and will certainly also shop. Warm greetings!

RAlph ALbrecht: If you are looking for experience in photography, you can get a lot here. Here you can find the latest cameras, many used ones and also for collectors. Online ordering is also a service offered. Well, and the question of parking spaces is also quickly told. No real ones. But U Bahn and S Bahn are within reach to get to this business. Oh yes, photo services such as immediate printing and forwarding are of course offered here. Anyone who feels like taking photos and wants to discover the photographer in themselves is in good hands here. But remember, it's not a Saturn or Media Markt, it's a solid corner shop. And there are good photo motifs for free along the newly designed Karl Marx Straße.

Safelight Berlin: what do users think?

Katharina Leffers: I developed some film rolls for the first time with Safelight Berlin and am more than happy with how they turned out! Amazing quality and the scans were done earlier than it was communicated on their website :) There was a little problem with one of my rolls but the customer service was amazing and sent me the missing scans asap Totally recommend and will continue to develop my films with them!

wildflower mind: Edit: after I wrote the review they send me an email, excused for the bad quality and offered a reprint. The new prints were completely fine. I totally understand that mistakes can happen and I am really glad they helped me out. Today I got my first print order from safelight berlin and I am sadly not really satisfied with the quality. I ordered some of the cheapest prints they offer and one fine art print. Sadly the quality of the cheap prints is actually really cheap. All of the prints have printing lines on them, which totally ruin the pictures. They all also turned out way darker than the original files. The fine art print is really good quality tho so I can definitely recommend these ones. I am wondering if maybe it is related to the "kind of picture" as all the broken cheap prints were analog pictures while the fine art print was a digital photo. I don't expected the cheap prints to be great quality, but receiving prints with major printing mistakes on them is really unsatisfying and in my opinion unprofessional. If you are ordering from safelight just simply skip the cheap prints because they really aren't worth it.
Response: Hi Maya, as we said via email the issue was related to the printer machine that, if the toner is almost finished, leaves lines on the prints. On top of that our employees did not check the prints as they should and we are sorry for that. Our lab prints, "cheap" as you call it, are the best quality you can get from a Fuji printer. Regarding the tones be aware that what you see on your computer is different from a professional desktop and because we do not retouch them it might happen that the colour cast is different. Regards

sarah Y: I mailed my film from Bavaria and was able to download the scans online within a few days. The quality was great. I was happy to view my pictures without having to wait long. The processing time was faster than the drop-off locations around the Munich area that I checked AND it was also cheaper (even after shipping with at least two rolls). Thank you.
Response: Thank you for the kind words!

Amryn Shae: I’ve had my film developed many many many places but have never had such sharp, clean, gorgeous scans as I did with Safelight! So happy with how my photos turned out. Was just visiting Berlin but wish I could’ve stayed in the area to develop the rest of my film from the trip here!!!! Also, compared to back home, the prices here were excellent.

Hanna Junginger: I’ve been developing my rolls at this shop for 2 years now and I’ve been happy with the Scans but the enormous waiting time is just ridiculous. You can get jt developed quickly but you have to pay extra 5€ per roll, it’s not like the developing itself is already expensive. Doesn’t matter how much new rolls you buy online or develop, you still have to come up for the shipping. Getting the Scans back by mail will cost you 5€ too. Sadly I live on the countryside now and I don’t have that much options but if you live in Berlin - there are great places for less money, less dust on the pics and way less time(!)

Jonas Fi: Honestly, I think they are just too busy these days. They used to be much better and also more friendly but me and my friends have all experienced very unfriendly service recently. On top of that they lost all my negatives and it took them about 2 months and multiple reminders via call and mail to finally return them. Instead of an sincere apology, I received a super passive aggressive mail from the co-owner: „Mistakes, in any business, can happen, especially in a lab like ours where we have about 300 or more rolls of roll a day. If you've never made a mistake, I'm really happy for you, your life is amazing.“ And because I want that all of you have such an amazing life like me and never make mistakes lol, I strongly advise you to get your film developed somewhere else
Response: Hi Jonas, we did not lost your film, we simply asked your girlfriend that we needed more time to find them and after a couple of days we informed you that you could come to pick them up. So this comment is irrelevant. Best regards

F: Film was great, but the way they just ignore me is extremely uncomfortable. I also don't need a self defend reaction because clearly it always seems like the customer is wrong if I look at the review answers. Anyways, was a nice first time, but i have other places 🙌🏼
Response: Hey hi, sorry to hear you had a negative experience but it will be also nice to understand what exactly happened since is not really clear. Regarding our answers if you read them carefully we need sometimes to explain things customers maybe are not aware regarding the lab processing and how it works.

Wiktoria Wyczynska: Super nice store, Alberto is super professional! Paula from lab is always responding for emails polite, good scans.Highly recommend

Anna Bevilacqua: The best place in Berlin for analog photography. Staff is amazing and they have a great selection of films, cameras and books.

Blake Smythe: Awesome friendly straff, always gets my film back quicker than expected. Best place in Berlin for all your analogue camera needs

Pixel Grain: what do users think?

marley pasinetti: From travelling and working around the world for many years. This would have to be the worst lab I've set foot in.. Really rude staff who think they are better than you. Very over priced compared to other great Berlin labs. I asked for specific scans and they gave me something completely different that were unusable. then refused to refund me. I would recommend finding an alternative lab 100%

Steve Karsten: They have a good selection of film here at great prices. 35, 120, instant and some 4x5. They also develop and scan. Hi quality work! This is a great lab with lots of high quality printing options. Develop and scan of 35mm is roughly €17. They also rent out cameras. Digital, instant, and when I was there they had a Hasselblad and Mamiya RZ67 available.

Helu Collien: I go here printing since long, i like the quality and service.. sometimes noone calls when the photos are done...

Scott: Pretty quick turnaround. Not the cheapest, but I've never been disappointed with their work. Everyone is pretty nice and usually accommodating to English speakers. Open Sundays, closed Saturday.

Karina Khachatryan: Great selection of film and the staff is really helpful and nice

Willhelm Schmerz: They damaged the film and did not refund. I went to another store and they confirmed that the film was damaged during the development.

orbed: They are professional and reliable most of the time and they have light tables for checking your film.

Filippo Tirelli: I'm a photographer, and when I'm in Berlin this place is a Must. Super Film Selection!

Guillaume Guerin: I confirm the previous comment about PixelGrain Berlin, not professionnal at all, employes are not able to manage their responsability, i can leave the laboratory with the files of someone else, i mean there is no protection of your files, any one can copy it when you are at the laboratory. Simply, forget about it !

Tokoni B Orupabo: Super good service. Patient and friendly staff.what more can a customer wish for? thumbs up lads!
