The Berlin Book Nook (second-hand, English-language bookshop): what do users think?

Mitsos Frixou: Fantastic selection of books, my first time I picked up 4 books for a very fair price. Old classics mixed with new titles, the man who helped me was also very friendly and helpful. Really cosy setting, surely for any reader you will find what you are looking for in here and if you don't then ask the owner as he's ready to reccomend! Will certainly be going back!

Nazli Okuducu: Extensive collection of English books ranging from crime fiction to art history. The guy working there was super nice and helpful too :)Definitely recommended !

sunny kumar: It is small shop but the person is really friendlyHe gave me really good suggestion for finding her right book

Vier: The place has a lot of selections for the actual size of the store. I love how jam packed it actually is. But some prominent authors that i was looking for just wasn't there (Tolstoy, Houllebecque, pynchon and plath). The vast majority of the book is very fairly priced and affordable, but there are some that basically cost the same as new ones ("the trouble with being born" cost the same with a new one)

Bubbs: I had high hopes for this wonderful little bookshop and I was not disappointed! The owners are helpful and kind, while the selection of books is wide, varying from classics to rare little treasures waiting to be discovered. 5/5!

Sara Cosemans: Nice selection of used English (and Dutch!!!) books, but even nicer conversations with Alex and William who own/run this friendly queer space. Great book recommendations even beyond their own collection and interesting exchange of ideas was what we most enjoyed. Whenever we visit Berlin (from Belgium) we'll try to come back here.

lily word: I had been meaning to go here for quite some time and I finally made it today unfortunately the owner/employee was sitting outside chatting with someone and their conversation killed any interest of mine to buy books there. The person they were chatting with was going on about how cyclon b couldn’t have been used in the gas chambers and how the numbers are inaccurate. I had to leave I couldn’t listen to it any longer, I just wanted cry.
Response: Hi Lily, I am the owner and was not there on that day, but my boyfriend/colleague was there and he is the "employee" you mention. He is gay and jewish and there is no way that he would tolerate such views. I am very sorry that you had this distressing experience, but we are not responsible for comments made by third parties who are not affiliated with the shop. All the best, Alex.

R K: Great little book shop in a nice neighbourhood with a small but healthy selection of genres and titles in good condition. Regarding the one-star review made by someone else; if you go into a second hand book shop expecting to buy anything for 50 cents in 2021, you are delusional. Maybe in 1992 or at the worst flea markets you could do this? The prices here are more than fair and no more expensive than any other similar place.

Sophie Brewer: I love this little bookstore! Great selection of English books at reasonable prices. Very cozy and people who work there are always friendly and helpful. They have a lot of sci-fi, fantasy, poetry, and plays, more than many bookstores in Berlin.

Syed Hassan Zoraiz: Second hand books a bit expensive. There are a lot of books but you really have to look hard enough to find. Small, congested place. Not a five star book store though. But it's good.

Another Country -Bookshop: what do users think?

Oliver Theodoor Feldvoss: The story of the owner and her wish to keep the books but still let curious readers enjoy them, and how that shaped how the store functions is amazing. Really nice people continuing the legacy. Will visit again on future Berlin-trips

Mouna Vercruysse: This is a special bookshop and you might love or hate it. It's quite messy. In some places there is an order in the books, in others they are piled in towers waiting to fall. If you have got time and enjoy searching it's a great place to be!

Gina Ledor: love it here!! do not fear—it’s not super orderly but it’s definitely not dirty. kind people, great books, could spend hours reading and sifting, go visit!

Vicky: Quirky shop with a very relaxed atmosphere, comfy chairs to read in and a surprisingly large basement for sci-fi/fantasy. Books can be bought or lended for a smaller price. Also hosts community events on a regular basis.

Annica Svensson: A place shockfull of used english books. I am sure you can find a lot of gems here. The room in the back is categorized after subject. Bags of books everywhere, like in a junk yard. It was extremely messy when I was there and I am not sure if it always looks like that. I was there on a monday right after it had opened for the day. Nothing was cleaned from whatever event had been going on in the weekend . Empty wine bottles everywhere, ashtrays full of cig butts and ash, it reeled of smoke. Not sure how to grade the shop. I love indie shops and I love the concept of library/shop/events/book club but this place made me want to go and take a shower afterwards. Sadly. I had read reviews here that called the place cozy and charming so i got really disappointed.

Kristina Thornton: An...odd place. Empty bottles and piles of books everywhere. The shelves are organized after a fashion, but many of the books are for borrowing only. It's like walking into a messy person's house whose door is unlocked, and the owner is somehow obliged to let you in but does so reluctantly--until getting to know you. Then! Buckle up for some good conversation.

lily word: Such an interesting second-hand bookshop/library. It’s probably not everyones cup of tea, since it’s quite dark and messy, and not all books are for sale unfortunately. But it’s definitely interesting, has a very eclectic selection and well worth a trip if you love book hunting. I take nearly all my guests here. It feels like a part of the ‘old kreuzberg’. And I have always found a book there that I loved.

Fel I: For those with a pure heart, and a genuine love for books 📚 the owner is lovely. Take your time when you explore another country 🌀

שחר פלד: This is the messiest and most exhilirating bookshop ever, piled high with books in alphabetical order that clearly indicates that there is method to the madness, this is a book addict's dream come true, including a whole (dank smelling) cellarfull of fantasy and science fiction books... and the prices reasonable to floor...

Omri Galai: A cosy, quirky and a bit messy bookshop where you can help yourself to a coffee or a beer, take a pile of books, sink into a chair and chill

Anna Hensel: Well organized bookstore with German and also plenty English books. Super cheap prices (books vary from 2-4€). The books are mostly good quality and it has a nice assortment of books.

Milind Pania: Lovely store, great collections, all-rounder goodness.

Frieda: i recommend this second hand bookstore, it has a nice selection of diverse books including international once!

Emory Autumn: They had a small selection of books, and they were very high quality for a very low price. I am impressed!

李小肚魚: It was a very gooooood bookstore.the preise was not expernsive and hight quality. There had also some old music and opera disks. The shop employee was very nice and kindeness.👍👍👍👍👍👍

Ruma Dutt: Nice and cozy shop. Friendly staff. Only had books in German. For an English speaker, not much of a choice.

Welpaw: Sometimes you'll find some nice books or LPs.

Robert Stone: Found some great stuff in here

Michelle Lyu: great, fair prices

Joern Bartnick: A nice place to do good with his hobby of collecting books and other media. A rich selection or mix is usually always available directly in the shop. The volunteer shop team will be happy to help with any questions or ambiguities. Your own donations in kind are also possible directly on site.

elena drezga: The best

Udo H.: Really great bookshop that stocks very good political literature

Bücherwald - free book tree: what do users think?

Fahriye Yaraş: It was created with a good idea but isnt enough. In order to contribute to the development of the idea, you can leave the books that you have read and that you no longer need at home. So there will be more book circulation.

Ivi K: It is what the users make it. I had some books sitting at home I didn't need anymore so I was happy to find a place to donate them instead of throwing them out. When I arrived at the spot there were quite a few fat old law books (probably the only ones you can throw out as they likely are outdated) sitting in the shelf and not much else... I hope this will change in future and people will bring more other stuff as well. You can find books in German, English, Polish...

Krystian W: Nice idea and a very nice decoration of the area.

Sinziana Mihalache: Thumbs up for the idea, however there were hardly any books there when I found the tree, so the book shelves looked rather like scary hollows.

Frank H: A Prenzlauer Berg classic. Leave books you don't want to keep in one of the tree trunks or pick up books you like for free.

Nicholas Lewis: Good idea but cafe best

Russell King: Original and nice

Aileen Morrison: Such a cute place

R Das: Unique!

Jamie Mitchell: Free books!

ivallan's Second-Hand & Exceptional Books: what do users think?

O: Cute little lucky dip of a place. Something always catches my eye and I walk out with a new gem for my collection. Either a title I’ve never heard of or an old favourite from my youth. Books are in stacks rather than on shelves so it might be hard to find a specific book by yourself. Better to ask the owner who magically seems to know the placement and content of every single book.
Response: Thank you! Come by for a coffee or a book anytime!

Jonathan H: A charming little gem in the cultural heart of the city. Huge variety of books with something for everyone (including cat lovers as can be seen by the amazingly cute cat themed window display). Always enjoy coming here and discovering new books to pick up.

Eliza Aboltina: best bookshop in Berlin! in-house curation is supreme, affordable & fair pricing, books come in great condition + I have acquired a handful of special wishes including rare gems via ordering through Ivallan’s too. Not sure what you wish for? Speak to them and you will leave neither empty handed, nor disappointed. No one has ever given me better book recommendations than Ilya!

Busy Lizard: Wonderfully charming shop with an incredibly friendly host and very detailed categories of genres! They have a great art book section at the back in its own little magical room. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Robert Foss: This store has a wonderful range of artisinally curated used books (for cheap!).

Ardulca Silvara: They just opened up. Ilya is nice and experienced. Front has the modern vibes while the small backroom is taking you to a different dimension.. Glad they opened in the neighborhood 💪🏻 🤸🏻‍♂️

liv loddesol: Absolutely amazing selection and sweets owner. Great atmosphere and you will spend hours trying to choose between all the treasures!

Yuriy Gabuev: A great shop managed by a very intelligent and inviting person who has been in the business for many years and really knows his job

Kris Ku: A really wonderful bookshop, lovely milieu and selection of books :)

Kali Askar: amazing bookstore with best subsections

BLT: What a wonderful little space. The selection of tidily organized books across a variety of languages and topics (kids books too!) is lovingly curated by a helpful (and English-speaking) owner. It's a bit of a jaunt from where I live but I would venture out this way again just to peruse the selection.
Response: Thank you very much! Hope to see you again soon! :-)

Rebecca: Fantastic little book shop. The owner was able to help me find books that matched my interests and he even went into the backroom to find other options. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Berlin.
Response: Thank you very much for your comment! See you next time! :-)

Rozhan Bzg: Cozy, lovely and a great place if you like to see bookstores in different places. You can find a “free book” box at it’s door, when the store is closed.

Qurratulain: Great selection of used English books, and the prices are some of the cheapest I've found in Berlin.

Ecem Onkol: Little bookstore running by the nicest person around I guess. I found the book I look for very well kept, very good priced!
Response: Thank you for coming, I hope to see you soon again.

Kevin: This place got recommended to me by a website for what to do in Berlin on a 2-day-trip. I love reading so I went to this book store. There I had a lovely conversation with the owner, after which he personally recommended me some books! Whenever I'll revisit Berlin, I'll make sure to come by again!
Response: Thank you for coming! Have a great time in Berlin! :-)

Noah Harnisch-Diamond: Friendly knowledgeable guy and great prices with decent selection
Response: Thank you very much for your comment! I wish you a good time (reading). :-)

Emiliano Vittoriosi: The book shop I loved most in Berlin and beyond! Alvaro the owner has become a great friend, that every time I'm in that area I have to say hello, and most of the time I spend hours having interesting conversations on all kinds of topics. A person with refined taste, who can always advise you the right reading! I love it <3

Jemima Tilly: Really cute book store in Berlin. Selection of books in different languages. Although not extensive, still had enough to browse through. Not a huge issue, however, the books were not alphabetised. Staff were very friendly and the books are cheap! Would have given 5 stars if there was a larger selection of English books.
Response: The books are organized first by language and then by author.

Bahman Zadeh: Absolute Gem of the Kiez! Lovely guy with great collection of all kind of books for affordable prices. Never disappointed so far. Good luck!
Response: Thanks! <3

Scott Lukas: English language independent bookstore. There are a lot of cool books. Wide selection. New ones. Second hand ones. Fiction ones. Non-fiction ones. There's also a special small section for Irish stuff. I recommend you go there and check it out for yourself and see if any of them interest you, ya dummy. The second-hand books in the attached pictures cost around 20 euro. My guy at the register was really helpful and nice.

Marta Bartoshevska: I’ve been to many bookstores in Berlin and generally worldwide, but here i had one of the best experiences with staff - so knowledgeable and eager to help you. I can tell, they have a real passion for this work. the selection is quite good. prices are affordable, i must even say that books here are cheap. Would visit again!

Qurratulain: They have a great selection of books. I managed to find a few titles I've been wanting, and they look pretty much brand new. The prices are also really reasonable so I'll definitely be back!

Clare Sayas Ronning: Great English bookstore that can order books for you and deliver to your house. Events there are also fun. Used section is also worth a look. There are also fun little gifts, and a small kids section.

Niels Devisscher: Lovely place! They can also order books for you if they don't have them in store, all for decent prices. Support your local bookshop!

Vier: I came here mainly as a part of my used books hunt. I was very disappointed with the quality of curation/selection for the used books. The used classic section was quite a let down, thankfully the fantasy section was definitely better. However being in the store for quite a while, it seems that a lot of people are buying new books and ordering instead and the staff were really nice and helpful with that.

Mareike Bauer: Lovely book shop with a mixture of new and second hand books. Makes me feel like I'm on a small holiday on the British Isles in a cozy book shop instead of being in Berlin.

Jason Lee: very good book shop, some sections were limited but overall a very good book shop in a charming building

Kayra Keri Küpçü: There are lots of second hand English books. Very lovely employees and atmosphere.

Nina Chase: Best little shop for second hand English books! So happy to have this place, great prices and great selection, will be back every month for more books!

Petitpo: They will only take seasonal clothes but that's understandable if they don't have the space to store everything. They display nice quality second-hand items.

Birgitte Juul-Sorensen: The shop is nice if you’re able to get in. They close at random hours at often at 2pm on Saturdays… Small shop and clean stuff but call before you go there due to opening hours. Have often met a locked door.

Vesselina Stefanova: A good place for second-hand books in English.

Janet Leenders: Great clothes

Ettore Pedretti: Maps got me to the back of the shop while I did not notice that I had passed in front of it.

Heiko Sommer: The, played nice music in the store!

Al Fa: Great items and prices

B T: Do good - get good!

Katja Williams: Small, clear 2nd hand shop. Well sorted. In addition to clothing, shoes, bags, belts, scarves and jewelry, there are also books, CDS, DVDS and household items to buy. Everything for a good cause! The volunteers are friendly and give honest advice.

Christine Wittig: By chance I passed this beautifully designed shop in bright sunshine...it literally invites you to stop by. I collect small vases... and my ❤️ found what I was looking for at a low price... I took a summer towel with me and was very well served by the friendly cashier (8/8/22). It's worth browsing here.... it is for a good cause

Saint George's English Bookstore: what do users think?

TF: Love this bookstore located in the heart of the trendy neighborhood Prenzlauer Berg. It contains a good selection of both new and used books neatly organized by themes or authors last name. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. We have been to a couple of bookstores in Berlin and felt we like here the most! Will definitely be back soon 😊

Lenu: Amazing little English bookstore! Most books don't cost much and the owner is nice. The shop has a nice atmosphere with books up until the ceiling and comfortable light. Will be my go-to bookstore from now on.

Lisa Ida: Very friendly service. It's super cozy and since it's a second hand shop they have many different book to chose from. All books are english. There are high shelves and a ladder, which gives it this cool retro feeling of bookbrowsing.

Valentin Fernandez: Very pretty library with tons of english books to take. Very cozy and a very charming woman running it. Me and a friend told her she had the place very good looking and she said that they are very happy with how it is. Very good experience going and also not expensive at all! Fun fact: they said they even hosted a party once there and the woman said it was very cozy as well. Lots of stuff and very well taken cared of, recommend!!

Alice Blue: Lovely bookshop in a country where you can barely find English books. They have new and secondhand books, all of them very well organized! I enjoyed the sci-fi and fantasy section the most, as they got a nice assortment of them. The fiction section was quite large and I saw titles I haven't been able to locate in other secondhand shops. Definitely a must-see if you want to get lots of books in English :).

Edvin Kempe (3x5WLeague): I love this shop! They always manage to find me the most obscure books that have been out of print for years in a matter of weeks if not sometimes just days. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, and loves to read! Cannot recommend it more highly!

Alexander Williams: A really good selection of books -- the history section itself is well worth a visit! Definitely recommend going there. Even if it takes a little longer to get there, the area has a lot to offer as well!

Andrea Perezcassar: I really like Saint George bookshop until tonight. I usually have a great service with Paul but today it was a complete different experience. There was another person in the shop called Hans. First he kept customers waiting outside in the cold because he was smoking. I brought many fictions books to give as Paul suggested me the day before. But this man was yelling that this was “Bullshit”. I’ve never experienced such an erratic, hysterical behaviour in a shop. Specially after Paul’s great manners. I would suggest to watch out whom you hire, this person was not mentally fit.
Response: Wow very sorry about your experience, I will discuss it with the staff member in question

Lara Gonzalez: Second Hand and new books mostly in einglish. If you don’t find it ask, they can probably order it. Really nice workers too! The bookshop feels also really cozy and it is very cute ☺️

Rebecca K: Absolutely terrific store. I bought loads of books here, they had a great selection. The Scifi/Fantasy section was particularly great, lots of good titles and fabulous prices!

Love Story Of Berlin: what do users think?

lisa: A small and lively English bookstore in Berlin. Very LGBTQ+ friendly.

Joeri Verlooy: Great selection of English books, personal recommendations and friendly staff despite the late entrance and technical difficulties with bank contact. Favorite bookstore and would return on next visit.

lily word: Probably my favourite book store in Berlin, definitely top 3. I just love their selection, the shop is really well curated and the staff recommendations are usually top notch. I always love going here. I am just thankful I don’t live close by - that wouldn’t be healthy for me, my wallet, or my bookshelf 😅. And on top of everything else the store is just do darn cute 😍

Irina Botea: Small little bookstore with books in English. The selection is limited but the staff would gladly order the volumes for you.

Tam: Such a friendly owner. Their selection is so good. The give a lot of space to black and/or queer writer which is great.

Rocio Tribe: Lovely bookshop with lots of options in English and some cute things. What I loved the most are the handwritten recommendations 💜

Philip Avakian: Very nice custom selection of books. My favorite section is the classics - decent selection of great novels that stand the test of time , all in english. Some nice design / history books (small selection). Often they have very nice publications with nice cover designs, so if you love good book covers, this is also a plus. Downside is that the selection is somewhat narrow, as it is a small store. Still five stars from me.

Andrew Harris: The books are indeed in English. So the marketing checks out. It looks like the kind of place you'd expect a meetcute to happen, complete with film crew. I didn't see either but that one dude may have been a gaffer. I'll check again next time.

Lily Light: A must go to store for book lovers!! They have diverse range of 📚.

Maíra Reis: My favorite neighborhood bookshop. Great selection of classics & current books, also with some quirky/unexpected finds (good for gifting). They also order whatever book you need and they don’t have in stock. Super friendly service and good staff recommendations

Kefah: Lovely store with friendly staff, buying there you do good for Africans and other people in need

Jim Him: Small shop with friendly staff

kwan yang: friendly personnel

Srdjan Djordjevic: This is by far the most outrageous branch in all of Berlin! I came from Potsdam even before opening hours to get hold of a bag. It stood in the shop window for almost a week and today I wanted to buy it and I was in front of the shop before opening hours. It struck me that all the bags were still in the shop window except for this one. Surely all of us who were waiting for the bag in front of the shop were cheated, since all the other bags in the shop window were just not this one anymore. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon in this branch. I don't even want to waste my words on the arrogance of the employees. Hands off!! When accepting the donation, I was pretty sure that the employees would only choose what they themselves think is great and the process was carried out on a very arrogant, condescending level. I will definitely not come here again and I do not recommend it to other people either!!! I would like to give 0 stars because it's too bad for me. But unfortunately that is not possible.

Hanna Groth: Very nice store with great clothes. I have my absolute favorite pieces from the store. They come in all sizes, colors and patterns, something for everyone. Both children and adults. Definitely worth a visit.

Jennifer Kühne: Unfortunately I have to give this Oxfam branch a bad rating. Both times when I wanted to hand in two bags, I was greeted at the entrance with a groan. The tone of voice was very dismissive towards me. I mean.. I could very well sell these clothes, but I decided to donate them... If you don't want to do this job, you shouldn't do it! I don't go here anymore.

Mitra: Oxfam is a great second hand shop with a very good concept. I think the volunteers are very friendly. The selection is always interesting and there is almost always something that I like. The clothing here on Rheinstrasse is usually less fancy than at Oxfam in Kreuzberg, but is usually of better quality. On the other hand, they are a bit more selective when it comes to accepting donations. However, they all do not take bulky waste and broken things. But they are always happy about things that are still okay, even if something is unusual. The children's radio play cassettes and knee pads have also been taken away from me here. Books, CD's, porcelain, clothing, jewellery, bags, toys, cameras, binoculars and seasonal stuff at the right time .... will certainly be gladly taken and can also be found here. I found my favorite boots here and last time a pair of chic leather pants. I think it's definitely worth stopping by from time to time and you're doing something good if you give away things that are still good but that you don't need yourself. I highly recommend this store and this concept.

Helga Wagner: Very friendly staff! Here you can give away items that are in very good condition that you no longer need.

Herr Gassert: Interesting selection of books... and to those who want to complain about the volunteers here I say "Get well soon, welcome to Berlin." I get along with them. Anyone who works for free, sacrifices their free time for others, deserves a little more respect.

Benjamin Achenbach: I just handed in several bags full of jackets/trousers/jackets. I could just leave the completely full bags there. Contrary to my low expectations based on other Google reviews, I was greeted warmly and thanked in a friendly manner. So everything is great. Maybe you just have to be lucky who you get.

Oxfam Shop Berlin Prenzlauer-Berg: what do users think?

H R: Extremely rude staff. I was donating and was shocked at how contemptuous the staff acted; very different to the Oxfam shops I have donated to in the UK. In the UK it is possible to donate small household items, here they only take some clothes, books and CDs. Also they make you stand and wait whilst going through items one by one, and not even a thank you for items or the ridiculous amount of unplanned time for waiting during the inspection. Instead got told off for a book cover being too risqué (it was a Penguin Classic).

Platinum Dolphin: Very good selection of various books and a small selection of clothes, but well arranged and a good quality. Friendly service.

L O: I regularly donate there. But the staff is very unfriendly.

Carolin Leue: Great shop for thrifting, nice prices and charity. Good international books as well

Wolfgang Bremer: Great place. We donated some clothing here. Such great staff here!

David Merian: A nice second hand store in the area. Selection could be stronger, but nice that it's there.

Ulli Li: I was about to make a donation of women's clothing (partly branded clothing) in very good condition. The lady explained to me that they only accept winter clothing, only special sizes and that everything is only well sorted. They would then look at it and pick out pieces - the rest have to be taken back. So with all love--- get gifts and make demands at the same time. I think clothing is needed everywhere for those in need?? That doesn't seem to be the case. In another social department store, I was told that if I wanted to donate something, I should bring money... I'm speechless... and donating is done for me for now.

Sascha Gross: Always something new to browse, prices are fair. Makes it easy to find something nice for little money for the whole family. From children's clothing, toys, CDs (radio plays, music from A-Z, DVDs, s, books (fiction & non-fiction) fashion for women and men

Silke Schmidt: A small boutique with second-hand clothing that is attractively presented (no rummage tables). The staff is very friendly, the prices are low and the proceeds go to charity.

Heike B: I'm there very often and have already donated a lot of things because I always sort them out. The staff is either super friendly or not. Only volunteers work here, you should consider that. I especially like the range of books. You can often get a bargain there.

Oxfam Shop Berlin Wilmersdorf: what do users think?

Suzy Gneist: Secondhand clothes. A few good labels, good selection of paperbacks, some crockery finds and fairtrade products.

Helen Doherty: I love this shop it’s fab!

Olga Saar: Experienced everything. Sometimes nice, sometimes not. Some confuse things to give and private things for the customer. No, I don't want to give this bag away. And if I say "please wait" and get the things to hand in from my bag, you should wait and not be intrusive. I don't want to have to defend my private belongings in the store.

Silke Raupach: I recently went to the Oxfam Shop Spandau, I think the concept, books, stuffed animals, crockery, clothes, etc. is very good and the staff were so nice. I will definitely donate there next time... ❤️

Hugo Parugo: Attractive shop with a relatively large range of second-hand clothing, shoes, crockery, glasses and much more at reasonable prices. The weekly shop window display, which can be purchased on the following Tuesday - punctually from 3:00 p.m. - is often interesting. If several people are interested in an object, a lot will be drawn. The staff - volunteers - is friendly.

A. Meissner: We often sell very good branded goods there, but you feel like a supplicant! Rude unfriendly behavior of the employees. Sure, they are volunteers, but something friendlier and more polite would be nice. Otherwise you lose the desire to sell something there. On 2.2. my husband had finally caught a friendly woman there around 5:30 p.m.! So it works!!!

Charlotte Marxen: Despite prior telephone arrangements on the same day, 20% of my belongings were just taken from me once. Towels. However, my crockery, which is in excellent condition, is not. There are no storage options for this and “nobody buys this brand anyway”. Regardless of the fact that I was initially rebuked in a tone that startled me. After 10 minutes of looking for a parking space and a 30-minute drive, I have to lug my donations (2 boxes of dishes) back home. This is how you turn the joy of donating into a really unpleasant experience.

Sa So: Conduct of the employees with all dignity. I went there with a big bag full of things. They only looked at the topmost things and then said: that's all dirty. I then showed the items underneath, some of which were new and hardly worn. The lady then took it upon herself to examine the things in the back room (3 minutes) and then came back with 3/4 of the things with the saying: everything is stained and dirty. I then showed her individual pieces to prove that there were no stains. It's one thing not accepting things, but it's a matter of how you convey it. Disrespectful!

Anja Hädicke: Nice shop with a wide range, manageable, so you can really see everything. I've often found and donated something. Basically, however, I often find the prices for clothing too high. Charity has to be cheaper than fast fashion.

steffi stahr: I think the concept is very good and the prices are very good. I used to really like the shop there, in 2014, I was served very nicely there. But over time the staff became more and more unfriendly. In autumn I asked a saleswoman if I could try on the dress in the shop window because I was allowed to do so in 2014 with the saleswoman at the time and she had given me so friendly advice at the time. But this lady said in a really very unfriendly and annoyed tone that this is only possible on Tuesday. But the big cheek and the reason for my bad rating is that I was there with my family at the end of the summer and a big seller even pushed me away because I probably think I'm in the way. I just wanted to look at the chocolate next to the cash register. If I'm in the way then you should be competent enough to talk to me and not use your arms to push me away..... I'm very disappointed as the nice lady from Purchasing 2014 did a really good job
