Schnitzelei Mitte: what do users think?

elventree mac: Great portions. Tap beer, friendly staff. They offered us a small beer for free when we ordered. A bit pricey but totally worth it. Great outdoor area. Tips:Prefer to make a reservation. If not , it’s better to visit the place after 21.00 o clock just to make sure you find a table.

Christophe Demeyer: The reputation is well deserved, we had such a nice evening there. Service and food were excellent. Personnel really friendly. I do recommend, as it was one of the best schnitzel I've ever eaten. Given the fact that it is always packed you should consider book a table beforehand. We have been lucky, as we had no reservation but they did manage to grant us a table, offering a welcome beer too. Just Perfect.

Kathryn Taylor: It was my first time (July 31) at a sit down German restaurant during my trip, so I was a bit confused on what to do. They are a lot more hands off then what I’m used to. But everything was delicious and I enjoyed my time there. I was pleasantly surprised by the welcome beer especially because I usually don’t like beer at all- but I drank the whole thing! I forgot to ask what kind it was…

Marshall Yount: A local friend recommended this place for our last dinner for this trip to Berlin. We wanted a quality German meal, after eating all the ethnic food all week. Wow, it exceeded expectations. We got the Bavarian schnitzel, which was amazing. The regular Wiener schnitzel was good, but not in the same ballpark. Get reservations! We were lucky and arrived before the rush and were permitted to sit in the bar area.

Adam Boswell: In the town of Schnitzel there are many good choices but there is only one King of Schnitzel....and it's in Mitte! This was so fantastic!! Spending a week in Berlin I was lamenting that other than currywurst I hadn't really had anything to rave about.... This is it! It's a very nice, secluded place that brings you a cold beer the moment you sit down and it just gets better from there! Take the time to come spend an hour or 2 here and enjoy the amazing food, don't forget the dessert it's equally as incredible!

Esin Çelebi Bowyer: Delicious German food.. Big portions, elegant but also cozy atmosphere. it is tucked away from the busy streets. Nice staff, good service. What else do you want for a nice evening meal. they also serve complimentary beers to start with.

Derek Mooney: No trip to Berlin is complete without a trip to the Schnitzelei - there are many great places to get top quality schnitzel in Berlin, but few can match the Schnitzel Mitte for quality, atmosphere and service. This is a great place for a celebratory meal or just a good night out for two. The staff are so cheery and helpful. I highly recommend the schnitzel wiener arte... but everything is good... especially the starter selections... the German Tapas!!!

George Chen: A hidden gem! If you like schnitzel, this is the place to go - hidden inside a (sort of) co-working space. I almost missed it. Staff are nice. Food portion is big. Meat is not too thin or thick. Juicy. I will go back again.

Crissy Ruiz: When In Germany, schnitzel is a must. Celebrating a solo Thanksgiving, I made a reservation here and was so glad. Your check in to the restaurant starts with a welcome beer! Holy cow that’s great! Next up, I ordered my meal. All I can say is, I hope you come with a hearty appetite. I got the pork schnitzel with potato salad and a Berliner to pair it with. Upon delivery to my table my eyes were wide and my belly growled. The first bite was light and crispy and oh so flavorful. The potato salad was possibly the best I’ve ever had. As a follow up to my delicious meal, I ordered the apfel strudel for dessert with a scoop of vegan vanilla ice cream. This was the perfect dessert in honor of being away from home for the holidays. It was light, perfectly sweet, and a great complement to my dinner. If In Berlin I highly recommend this place for a traditional German dinner.

Jeffrey Tanggau: Portions were great, and the staff there were friendly. We had the white asparagus soup, the snitzel and the grilled fish with white asparagus. Portions were very big, and food was definitely good. If you are in Berlin and want something local. Worth a visit!

Vedis Indisches Restaurant: what do users think?

Angelica: The food was delicious. There are several vegan and vegetarian options, not just the classic ones. They also offer pappadums with three different sauces (one of which is vegan). The staff was really nice, one guy noticed that our table was wobbling and fixed it without us asking.

Diksha Gaur: Flavourless dishes soaked in fat. Along with undercooked bread. I have been ordering and dining at this restaurant for a while now. But today the food quality was purely disappointing. I ordered kadai paneer and chicken lababdar along with tandoori methi paranthas. Both the dishes had exact same base gravy with too much oil and absolutely zero taste and flavour. After having their food so many times I know what their methi parantha is, but today they sent naan with sprinkled methi. And that was undercooked which just doesn’t taste plain but is also unsafe to eat. Inconsistent food a lot of times. Hope they get back to what they used to be.

krishna majgaonkar: The restaurant has nice food and a good ambiance. We ordered Roganjosh and Paneer Kadhai with Naan and a few drinks. Our order was served quickly. Also tried Gulabjamun at the end and they were tasty too. People working here are nice and friendly. Though it's on little pricy side, worth a try.

Sindhu Soman John: Awesome place for drinks and food. Honestly, one of the best places for Indian food I've been to in Berlin. The drinks were strong and tasty.

Bhavik Dhall: Great food. Very nice service. Would definitely recommend :)We tried dal makhani, tandoori roti, samosas, and gulab jamun. Loved them!

Vanessa Schmäske: great place for lunch! the taste of the food is great, and if you go around lunchtime you get a lunch menu which is a lot cheaper than most things you can find in the area, with great quality food and you can get rice refilled for free if needed. The staff is really friendly. In the evening it's on the more expensive side, but they offer cocktails and drinks as well. I've been going there once a week or so for my lunchbreaks, never had anything to complain about Vegetarian options: There is always a vegetarian and a vegan option on the lunch menu, and a lot more if you look through the entire menu. Good range to choose from as well.

Rahil Pednekar: Surprisingly we haven’t heard about this lovely gem. One of the best ambiences in a restaurant I could find in Berlin. ❤️ The cocktails were amazing, the food was just INDIAN and there was nothing to complain about! Seriously, would definitely visit again soon! Keep up the good work!🥂

Dan: Arrived without a booking with a large group (16) and they were able to accommodate us (on a Tuesday evening). The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food is okay, and the portions are large enough, but certainly not the best curry in the area by a long way. The prices are a little high for the offering, but not exorbitant. Good selection of vegetarian options (essentially the same as non-vegetarian options, just with a veggie alternative to the meat e.g. paneer) Vegetarian options: Great selection of vegetarian options (essentially the same as non-vegetarian options, just with a veggie alternative to the meat e.g. paneer)

Mariano De los Rios: This was an amazing place to eat at. The taste was fully delicious, the set up of the restaurant is really nice as well. People working here are super helpful so in customer service I would say they are amazing. I have shared some pictures here and you can see how good they look, starting from the naan which was huge and had An amazing taste and then the butter chicken as well. The quantity served was super good and barely finished because I was satisfied almost before finishing. I got impressed by how nice their bathroom is so sharing a picture of it might help understanding how good they are with this personal touches from India.

Parm Bindra: The place inside is super cool and in summer is nice to be outside.

Hofbräu Wirtshaus Berlin: what do users think?

Eugene Ee: Why I love this restaurant: 1. Able to walk-in without making any reservation especially on a Sunday. (Huge space inside) 2. Waiter was very friendly, understands English and recommended us to dine inside because it was cooler. 3. Love the ambience, there are mini stage performances with people cheering on for the added dining experience (only if you choose to dine inside.) 4. The Tender fried pork knuckle and neck pieces was amazing! Crispy and delicious! The Original Wiener Schnitzel was great too but I would go for the pork knuckles again anytime. Will definitely come back again in the future. Cheers

Linh Phan: This restaurant offers the typical German food and beer. It is located in the center of Berlin and easy to get to. There are live music which is also great as well. Have to try: pork knuckle, sausage and all kinds of beer. We had a good time there. The waiter is very friendly as well.

TimeTo Explore: That’s a place from my old experience when is my friend bring for me a beer glass from this bar. So time for me to enjoy in this place. Everything we amazing and very tasty, fresh beer and nice food and very friendly and smile staff. This place with a life music and guest who always singing the songs from Germany. So I think in weekend here very atmosphere

Nana: So much fun here! I could feel german vibe from their music, food and people. We got 0.5L beer , red wine, backed potatoes and schnitzel with mushroom sauce. Foods are hot and delicious! They are quite big portions but it was so good. Schnitzel was a little salty and crispy but when you squeeze the lemon and deep with mushroom sauce it’s so good! It’s served with lemony potatoes. Mushroom sauce like mushroom soup taste although it’s sauce texture. My brother got backed potatoes. He said it’s pure potatoes but with their butter it makes tasty. It comes with salad. Server was very energetic and fun!

Weiwei Tan: We were trying to look for German food in Berlin and was recommended this place by a friend. So glad we came here for dinner that we went again the next day! Had the chance to dine outside in the beer garden on the first night and it was awesome (except for smokers around if you're a non-smoker). The beer garden was closed the 2nd night we went and it got quite noisy inside. Food is great anyway!

Jogenesis Bohn: Great place to have some beers. Very fun environment and a great location. If it’s a sunny day, they have outside seating. The indoor seating is plenty as well. Simply great beer and a fun time! The pretzels are pretty good too.

Charlotte T: The interior and exterior of the restaurant is very nice. I loved the typical German design. The food was excellent and I wish I could have tried the "Knuckle". It looked so good. My Schnitzel was crispy and tender the German potato salad was also very good. My daughter took the vegetarian Spätzle with cheese and it was delicious. She also ordered the Curry Wurst and boy was that sausage huge! That too was excellent. The dessert was ok. I guess since it was written pancakes I wasn't expecting "nuggets" or "donut holes". It wasn't bad...just not what I thought. The only deception was our waitress, compared to the other wait staff, she was nice but slow. The other wait staff were very good, excellent service while ours forgot about us. Hofbräu Berlin is really a must do and make sure you're really hungry! They are not stingy so be prepared.

Érica Chinellato: A very spacious restaurant with delicious food and great beer. The service was impeccable, the waiter (Abil/Amil not sure how to spell it) was super friendly and also gave some good tips about the menu. The decoration is lovely, and they have live music. It’s a German experience you cannot miss.

Matheus Nascimento: Best Christmas lunch of my life. I will forever cherish the time I came here, truly amazing food and staff. Food came surprisingly fast, beers were amazing, overall, 10/10!Recommended dishes Crispy Pork Knuckle …More

Kurtis J. Samchee: Wow what can I say, the hype is worth it. There’s a reason there’s so many reviews here! It’s truly something else. We def don’t have anything like this in Canada that’s for sure. Great beer by the litre, food, live music. GGs.Recommended dishes Goulash Soup …More

Gaffel Haus Berlin - Das Kölsche Konsulat in der Hauptstadt: what do users think?

A. Y. L. Qiu: A great dinning venue tucked away in the central business district... offered great German food (the pork knuckle was soft and tender below the roasted skin). The atmosphere was great with a good crowd after office hours!Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Grilled Chicken, Homemade Beef Stew, Rump Steak and Mashed Potatoes and Peas …More
Response: Thank you very much for your review and your visit. We are very pleased that you liked it so much with us.

Adam Boswell: There are lots of decent currywurst and even some really good ones on the streets in another shops and is I've sampled most of them. They have redeeming qualities and some even have great attributes but Gaffel Haus has a very delicious and unique twist to their curry sauce that puts it above the rest. In addition to this, the staff the service, the ambiance of this place is so much fun. So helpful and kind, attentive and caring. This is a low key. Must visit great place in Berlin. Lyft will now be a staple for all return visits.
Response: Thank you very much for your visit and your review. We were very pleased that you liked it so much with us. We were especially pleased with your detailed description of our curry sausage. Thank you very much!

Ana Tan: Excellent restaurant. Traditional German cuisine, and they also have a classic East Berlin potato soup which is delicious. Pork knuckle was moist and perfectly crispy on the outside. Mashed potatoes were PERFECT, a must-try.
Response: Thank you very much for your review and your visit. See you SOON!

Traveling Heels: Really good German food and drinks. Their staff is friendly, and the restaurant is cozy. Their service is fast and efficient. Dessert is a most! 🍰🍰🍰🥧🥧🥧🍨🍨🍨 Definitely not the last time visiting.
Response: Thanks for great review and see you soon!

Derek Mooney: Went here twice while staing in the nearby Maritim Hotel. The food was excellent and the beer (Kolsch) is superb. Very friendly staff. Great decore. I'd highly recommend the schwenhaxe and or the schnitzel cordon blue. The pork slice is agreat too... more like bacon than pork, but a huge portion and served with delicious gravy and mouth watering mashed potatoes. Suggest you finish your meal with either the Kebekuss or the Schwester Herz!! Well worth a visit.
Response: We thank you very much that you have been with us 2 times and especially for the great review. Thank you and see you soon!

Mario Zrnic: A proper German restaurant experience. The service is very good, and friendly. We enjoyed some typical black pudding, beef liver, and pork chops. And drank some of the best Williams pear schnapps as well.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Response: Dear Zrnic, thank you for the great review and we are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. We look forward to your next visit.

Teimuraz Gogitidze (DocTemur): Very very tasty, very traditional, very smooth beer, liitle crowded, little nosy..but seems it is also traditional )
Response: Thank you very much for your nice review.

Good Earth: Koln drinking tradition: 0.2l thin tall glass, finish it, they will refill. Once enough, cover the empty glass with the coaster and they'll tally the total cost. Cosy, great beer and food.
Response: We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and would love to welcome you again for a Kölsch!

Павел: All three dishes I've ordered were really tasty, especially I liked the soljanka, it's almost the same as back home, definitely can recommend.
Response: We thank you very much for your review and are even more pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us so much.

Ngan Dam: We had great time here, having traditional foods and beer, staff is great. Highly recommended

Zur Haxe: what do users think?

bryan teo: Absolutely lovely place! This is a really secret gem that you won't see on many tourist guides. Food is great, the ladies managing the business are super friendly and feels like family. I loved the ambience as well because it felt really cosy and intimate, not like a typical commercial restaurant.

Juan Nicolas Gaviria: Amazing pork cured Knuckle! Out of this world. It's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The taste is incredible. Totally worth it. The place is also very authentic and the service was very good. Most of the people eating there were germans and I heard that was very very well known between them.

Zwei Stein: Pretty good German food. I really like that they have both the Berlin and Bavarian style pork nuckles dishes. The meat is well prepared however the sides are not as good. They are very friendly, they speak English but only accept cash payment! That is a bummer...

Luigi García: Super charming place with lots of character and a cozy, alpine feel. It was a rewarding detour a little off the lively side of Prenzlauer Berg. Food was delicious! It felt like a family-run place. We were attended by a lovely woman who was extremely polite, in spite of our clumsy attempts to name the dishes in german (lots of german specialties). She and the other two men who worked there were dressed in a traditional way. There are stuffed animals everywhere, occupying the spaces between the tables, an odd detail we really liked. All in all, a beautiful place with a wonderful service, great food and awesome beer. Thank you!

Desmond Foo: Friendly neighborhood place. Reasonably priced and the portion for pork knuckle is perfect for one. Very crispy outer layer and the meat falls off the bone. The section for small eaters in the menu is really perfect for light eaters as mentioned. Have a go at the pork ragout, AMAZING

Vamos Além Viagens: Typical German restaurant, really good food, great atmosphere, exemplary service. We ate schnitzel and pork knuckle, all dishes very well served and delicious. An excellent restaurant option in Berlin. We recommend.

Gavriil Konovalenko: Good food for good price. Cappuccino was awful though - bitter water with smth like milk, probably not the right place to take a cup if coffee - left untouched.

Szu-Yun Chen: The food is great with good price. You can take out and it is still super delicious!

Christian Gierds: We have been here for St. Martin's Day and had traditional goose. The dish was great, we even would have gotten extra dumplings, red cabbage or sauce. The atmosphere was nice and the staff very lovely.

Ludmila Rosenzweig: Amazing food, lovely people and huge teddy bear collection! Warm and friendly restaurant with typical German food. The service is very friendly and the food is delicious. The place has a very special decoration and the food is like prepared by an authentic German granny. 100% recommended

Justin Shircliff: I found this place on a list of best German restaurants in Berlin so decided to try it. The ambiance is great, as it has a nice bar area that opens up into seating with high ceilings. There is also live music, which was a nice touch. The food was delicious, from the salad to the bread to the beef goulash. Super friendly service too. It’s cash only, so keep that in mind before you head out. The Barre beer was really good as well.

pronins: Good German pub food. Not the best schnitzel I’ve had but still quite decent. The potato soup with bacon and sausage worked well as an appetizer. The portions are rather large. They offer a good selection of drinks, particularly beer on tap. The servers are all extremely nice and friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. An enjoyable experience overall, but I found this place to be somewhat overpriced, given the quality of food and the location.

sara blyth: Visiting the Max und Moritz Wirtshaus was an unforgettable experience. With it's tall ceilings, stained glass windows and large ball room, the venue invites you to imagine times gone by and all the historical meetings that might have take place there. Candlelight is the predominant lighting, which adds to the historical vibe of the place. The food, traditional German cuisine, was freshly prepared, comforting and delicious and the servings generous. I especially appreciated the many vegetarian options and numerous vegetable side dishes. The place has a relaxed and family friendly atmosphere and the staff is friendly. I recommend this culinary experience!

Rachel R: Really good food, especially the schnitzel. The menu really gave us some good German cuisine options, and the guy who seemed to be the owner was very charismatic, charming, and spoke excellent English. Great selection of beer/drinks as well. Price was pretty standard to what we’ve been seeing around the area. They only accept cash, though they tell you this as you walk through the door.pork

Ady Coy: With so many restaurants to choose we went to this one because of its good reviews and near where we was staying it was so good we went twice. The staff and food where excellent had two great German dishes and the portions are certainly not small so cannot tell you what the pudding are like. Drinks where very good as well and nothing was over expensive which made it even better. Thank you to all at the restaurant two great meals had by us all

Mark Catterall: Traditional German bar and restaurant. Very much feels like you are stepping back in time. Staff helpful and friendly, enough English spoken for poor German language speakers. Booking is advised at weekends, staff very helpfully fitted us in on a busy Saturday night. Food is traditional German fare and potions are good. I especially enjoyed the Kreuuzberger Mollie unfiltered beer. Well worth a visit...

Ann Faust: This is my "must" restaurant when I am in Berlin.Definitely a German classic, even for a lifelong vegetarian like me.Make sure to make a reservation and remember to bring cash as they are not taking cards.

Pooi-ji Hang: Lovely food and incredibly staff. If you can only choose 1 dish you should definitely get the pork knuckle. But if you can choose more, any dish is great. Don't miss the apfelstrudel! We ordered 3 mains and 1 dessert to share with the 4 of us. It was plenty. Including drinks we spend just over 80€Food: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

ellie: Bread was kinda stale but it was free so I guess we shouldn’t expect much. Wait staff told us they were packed and wait time would be longer for our food but we didn’t wait very long. Thank you! Meatballs were delicious and the sauce that came with it was awesomesaucs. The schnitzel left more to be desired but would come back for the chill ambience.

Billy Leen: Really nice restaurant, great lighting and atmosphere my meal was amazing, but my vegetarian friend did not like his main course! It's his fault for being a vegetarian. I really love my steak!Nice friendly staff aswell.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Mrs Robinson’s: what do users think?

Andrea Low: Really excellent food and service, I love the commitment to sourcing ingredients sustainably. All the fish was good, but the grilled items particularly so. The savoury dishes were stronger than the desserts, but overall for the quality and the ingredients I think it’s a fair price for the whole menu.

Luka D: The tasting menu was very nice. Interesting flavours, attention to detail, and I cannot fault the execution at all. The staff is friendly too. It isn’t a bargain for Berlin standards but also not exorbitant for what you are getting. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place

Jiwon Yoo: All dishes were amazing to feel the natural taste of the ingredients. We were touched by the delicate and sensuous care of Robinson’s staffs. It was so delicious and I want to visit again. Thank you Kars!

Christakis Psyllides: Fantastic restaurant with incredible service. Set Menu is daily changing with a number of small courses with a few adjustments (like their Infamous Octopus and Beef skewer which was incredible) and wine pairing (which is a must as you will definitely experience wine you would never have ordered or had before) It's all amazing! Not the cheapest meal you can have in Berlin BUT you are getting Michelin level food and service here. It surely can't be long before they get on the Michelin radar (if they want it) and get that 1st star! I have been to many Michelin restaurants in Europe and this one is in or above that 1*\2* level for sure. Highly highly recommended. My new favourite restaurant in Berlin.

Frank Steiner: Finally made it to Mrs Robinson's and ohh my god it didn't disappoint. The restaurant is small and cosy, the staff are superb, attentive and just the right amount of chatty. And the food is simply stunning. We've had the tasting menu and wine pairing and it was heavenly.

Ngoc Pham: Wonderful execution and beautifully plated. Mrs Robinsons did not disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the cosy setting of this restaurant. The staff were so warm and accomodating.

Mariana Rossmann: The food was nice. Some things were truly flavoursome and some were ok but forgettable. The service was great (which is surprising as the restaurant is owned by the same person who owns Cafe Frieda, whose service is TERRIBLE) and the staff super friendly. The vibe is really cool. However, the prices are insane. I paid 175€ for the set menu, the extra octopus and 2 glasses of wine. I have paid less in restaurants with michelin stars, so even though the food was good, I don’t think the price is justified. Also, the price isn’t mentioned on the website nor the menu and you only find out when you get the bill. Furthermore, we were sitting at the bar, which had bar stools with not back support whatsoever (and we all know anyone over 30 needs back support 😂).

PC Walraven: This is the type of restaurant I like. Small setting, only pure ingredients, and a friendly, relaxed but very customer-focussed service. It is pricy but the quality of the dishes combined with excellent service makes it more than value for money.

Ina Li: Chic, open kitchen setting offering elevated European cuisine with asian twists. Simple, fresh local ingredients, rich flavors and elegant plating. On the pricier end but worth the taste and ambiance.

James Kilbane: Let’s start of with this place is amazing! Had dinner here this Saturday night, we arrived super early as there’s no booking due to COVID 19 restrictions, so got ahead of the crowd. Service was exceptional, very friendly and warm staff, super knowledgeable about the dishes and the very interesting wine list. The VIBE was also great! We had delicious dish after delicious dish, each having complex layering of flavours, but with simple and beautiful plating. The plates are small sharing plates, that are flavour packed and toe curling good. Three of us shared 9 plates and came away satisfied, full and happy. Go online check the menu that they publish and see what delights you’re in for. Another cool thing, is you can see on the menu who’s supplied the meat/veggies and other products that you are eating in each dish, small local farms, artisans etc. To sum up, cooking of the highest caliber, interesting insightful flavour combinations, a must visit in Berlin. Thank you for having us!

Restaurant Maximilians Berlin: what do users think?

Don Gulling: Wonderful. Highly recommended. Delightful in every way. Outstanding food. Excellent beer. Great cocktails. Super clean. Very friendly. We came here on our first day in Berlin and we absolutely loved it. Thanks to the great people - we had a great time.

Joseph Hani: Surprised by the Bavarian specialties. I didn't know what to expect and I found it very good! I recommend the HAXE, the sausages (Great Munich) and treat yourself with 1L of beer! The reception and the service were impeccable, everything arrived very quickly. The atmosphere of Saturday evening was top, there were musicians! The restaurant was very pretty and atypical!

Daniel Bar: This is a huge operation on almost an industrial scale, but the place still manages to keep its soul and feel friendly. Dishes arrive at light speed and everything is done precisely per “factory standard”. Most customers are locals. For an English speaker not familiar with German cuisine, the menu is pretty much unintelligible, but this is part of the adventure. Just ask a waiter for an advice and you’ll be fine. A good place for spending an evening and observing some local culture.

Alexei Marshakov: A very nice Bavarian restaurant (Hacker-Pschorr beer). Great food - half of the duck and goose leg (Christmas special) were very good. Great atmosphere with lots of families and friends - the restaurant was full on Thursday night. Recommended!Food: 5/5 | Service: 4/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Lindsay Aiello: I got the vegetable dish and an Oktoberfest beer. The service and food were excellent. It seemed like very good quality and fresh Bavarian fare and the process were very reasonable. We sat outside and it was a great ambiance. Recommend to anyone wanting some traditional German cuisine.

Carolina Sanchez Gonzalez: Tradicional food and great service. Employees there are very friendly and they use traditional wear. Very nice!! Big tables, inside and outside. Big portions in the dishes. They receive all payment methods

Hemant Umbarkar: Excellent German food including vegetarian options and large variety of beer options. An ambiance like an Oktober fest and friendly English speaking hosts. What an experiment with Potato pancakes, kids loved it. Seating outside felt a little secluded from the main seating area.

Frederick Gunning: A great traditional Bavarian restaurant!! Service was great - fast, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, the beers were cold and the servings were huge!! I would highly recommend the haxe, and the apple strudel.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Praveen Mehrotra: We visited this restaurant to get the Bavarian beer experience of Hacker Pschorr. The restaurant has very nice ambiance with both indoor and outdoor sitting. Traditionally dressed staff is very friendly and helpful. Their food menu is also quite extensive although we didn’t try it being late and there only to try different beer. Overall a lovely experience.

buck double: Delicious Bavarian fayre, and an excellent selection of draft and bottled beers. Thought the prices were reasonable for what we had. Ordered the whole pork knuckle, which was huge, and particularly delicious. Would recommend.

Jordan Montero Aragon: Wonderful and friendly staff. The place is really charming, and we even had some live (Italian) music :) The food was really good and the portions HUGE! Totally recommended if you're in the area (and also if you aren't)! Will definitely come back on my next trip to Berlin.

Andrew Lok: Although the front looks like a pub, at the back it's a restaurant. This regular dishes (not XL) are delicious and big. There are many choices to chose from. The staff was very great. Highly recommended!

Алина Довгань: A very nice place to have dinner after a tour. Cozy place, friendly staff and extremely tasty food, large portions!!!Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Julia Smith: Came here to visit family in Berlin. The food and drinks here did not disappoint! All the staff were superb!!Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

JX Liaw: We visited at around 4pm on a Sunday. The restaurant is clean and cosy and we ordered a Jägerschnitzel and cordon bleu. The schnitzels are freshly pounded in the kitchen and the portion size is generous. The jäger sauce was kinda lacklustre although I enjoyed the chunky mushrooms bits with the schnitzel. The cordon bleu is a must-order — crispy, fresh, and perfectly tangy when drizzled with lemon juice. The fries are normal — nothing to complain about but not the best.

Jiří Král: Great place to get German and Berliner dishes. Very friendly and pleasant staff.

Jeff Wise: The best German food I've ever had.. The owners are super super nice.

stephanie seay: The food was delicious and service was top notch!

Tina Sheng: We visited on our way back from charlottenburg palace - had a wonderful dinner here and felt so welcomed! The staff were super friendly and food was delicious with generous portion sizes.

Rachel Kidwell: If you're looking for good German food please visit! We had the mixed grill for two people and WOW the chicken and steak were AMAZING! Found this little place when looking at local places to eat thanks to another review highly recommending a visit so glad we did! Prices were reasonable and staff were really friendly. Seating areas could be better and put dated decor but that didn't matter to us when the food was so good! Take a visit, you won't regret it!!

BLOCK HOUSE Am Alexanderplatz: what do users think?

Hafsa Tariq: Really amazing steaks justifying the price point. Cooked to perfection. The only thing I felt was the taste of the meat could have been heightened a bit. I would have liked a bit stronger flavor. But cooked to perfection! Hearty meal! Would love to try their burgers as well.
Response: Thank you.

Jeffrey Barker: Wow. What an excellent steakhouse this place is! After two years and a dozen countries in Europe, we were beginning to lose hope that we’d find a great steakhouse. Block House was excellent. The service was excellent. The venue was tastefully decorated and lit. There really isn’t anything to complain about here. About the only thing that would’ve made it better would’ve been to get our meal for free. If you’re in Berlin and want a great steak, there’s probably no place better than here. Come hungry!
Response: Dear Jeffrey, we are very happy about the praise and the great rating. Thank you very much!

Yuji Horimoto: Great place, great vibe, great service. If you really need to have a steak, sure why not. Is it the best steak ever? Not really. It doesn't hold up to a NYC dry age prime ribeye. But they do a good job cooking a steak.

Yoav Aviv: Amazing service, host already ordering the beer for you, which came 3 minutes later, following by taking my order within another 2 minutes. 5 min. later my french onion soup came which is the best I have ever had!!! 10 minutes after I finished my soup the American Tenderloin arrived with the baked potato!!! Just amazing guys, so delicious, precisely grilled and the service is amazing! They leave no room for mistakes! The restaurant is full house with another 50 people waiting for their table outside, but once you're sitting, you feel like the whole restaurant staff is there just for you!!!
Response: Dear Yoav Aviv, we read your review with pleasure and are very happy that you are so satisfied. Thank you for the great review and see you next time. :-)

Zeren Cavdar: If you are a tourist, you should definitely come here for the service. Thank you Thomas for your warm and kind service, you made us feel welcomed to Berlin on our last evening. Kids also had good time with colouring pictures and a nice kids menu. Restaurant is very cozy with good beer and food.
Response: Dear Zeren, we are very happy about the praise and the great rating. Thank you very much!

Moustapha Mahmoud: A classic steakhouse. Service was fast and friendly. We had the Mr and Mrs Rumpsteakes. Meat was perfectly cooked, tender and very well seasoned. The garlic bread was delicious, fries and baked potatoes were also very tasty all this with a very healthy salad. We were served by a super nice lady with german humour. I totally recommend.

Okan Sayan: Very tasty meats. A nice restaurant in the city centre. Salads, sauces and meats are delicious. Staff is friendly. Toilets are clean. The restaurant is comfortable and nice environment. We paid 90€ for 2 people including tip. Prices are open to interpretation. Many people prefer this restaurant. There are always many customers in the restaurant.

Bing: The (tall) guy who served us was really polite, friendly and nice. I'm not fan of salad but i was able to finish the salad they served. Wine was good and all. The rib-eye though is not the best. Did not feel much of the taste. The ambience of the place is good. Wveryone is friendly. Overall, i will recommend it to friends.

Angelica angi: Recommended! Nice and various steak menus. I ordered T bone steak, it’s came with potato, fresh salad, bread and garlic butter. Very good service, nice dinner with a beer.

Efe Cüneyt Yalınkılıç: It was great. We waited at the door for a bit because it was full inside, but not more than 5-10 minutes and the person responsible for taking customers in was very kind. The service was very good and the food was delicious. The only thing that can be improved is the size of the meals.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Loay: Two things are very special about this place its location and food quality. It's located in a beautiful neighborhood where nature is abundant, you can enjoy looking at the river while dining then take a walk after. I believe this is the best schnitzel quality I had in Berlin, however it is quite pricey and had less portion than other places I tried. The waitress was very friendly, and I enjoyed a nice lunch their with my family during the summer. I will be coming back

Prasad Gone: Portions were great, and the staff there were friendly. We had the mashroom schnitzel and dessert. Everything was delicious. Portions were very big, and food was definitely good. If you are in Berlin and want to try some local food I would definitely recommend this place, it's Worth a visit!

Andres Capurro: Food Quality: i was very pleased with the food’s taste and texture. Everything felt very freshly made. The dessert trio is quite interesting, but was not a big fan of the knodel dessert one. Portions: quite big and very satisfying. We only had main courses and felt quite full. Was very tempting to get some starters but would have suffered later the food coma. Drinks: many options to pick from (wines, cocktails, spirits, beers), but being a german style restaurant i went for some local draft beers. Price: $$ for this amount of food and quality, I believe it was very fair pricing. Average to any restaurant of this quality. Service: very friendly staff, drinks and food was quite fast. Atmosphere: there’s an amazing terrace outside with a nice view of the river. Inside its cosy and very german style decorated. Highlights: the terrace, the schnitzel, and of course the welcome shot of beer when you first arrive. Things to improve: it was a pity to be requested to move inside quite early. Even earlier than the noise rule in place. It was a lovely evening and would have been nice to be allowed outside a bit longer.

Matthias Klatt: Let’s get straight to the point: it’s not the best Schnitzel in Berlin BUT it’s actually a lot of fun to spend an evening here. At the door we’ve been welcomed with a bright smile and they instantly offered us a drink for a smooth arrival. I really enjoyed the visit and, to be honest, the bavarian-type Schnitzel, marinated with honey mustard and horseradish, was dar from being bad! 🤤 While there is delicious stuf on the menu, I still think the standard “plain” Schnitzel is not Berlin’s finest. 😁

Chris Paredes: Amazing place for authentic German cuisine (schnitzel especially). Great portions, tasty food (homemade bread is amazing). Even better is the service! Such friendly waiters/hosts. Overall best restaurant experience in Berlin. Highly recommended!

Barb T: Service is good and portion sizes are massive. You are asked about your vaccination status just like any other restaurants and upon sitting you are rewarded with a free beer 🍺. We were a party of two and ordered 2 vegetarian options - the breaded oyster mushrooms (Austernpilzschnitzel) and pan fried dough balls (Försterinnenschnitzel). Each was 16.50€. We weren't big fans of either dish as it was quite heavy, and I think a bit bland. Perhaps the meat options are better or schnitzel isnt really our thing? We had the dessert platter which saved the meal 10,50 €. The chocolate mousse was our favourite.

G a v: I always want to go again and again 😍 Also being veggie. The mushrooms are amazing! Super friendly staff, the food is the best Snitzel in the county. Generous portions. Also to take away, the taste is amazing and the prepare every detail for home (lemon, bread, cucumber, everything the same that dining in). Accept card and is better to make a reservation.

Dina Pickel: Really nice location by the Spree. Staff were all happy and polite. We especially recommend the Wiener Schnitzel and the Jägerschnitzel. Both were very delicious and the side dishes were also great. Really good value for money.Be aware that the restrooms are down a very steep and narrow spiral staircase, though.

Liv Kao: Delicious! The portion of the dish I ordered was massive! Nice and welcoming service, lovely outdoor sitting, definitely will visit again.

Reinhard Werner: Good quality. This time the Wiener Schnitzel was unfortunately a little oily. But it's still a place a love to be. The dessert was a dream, the beer is excellent and the service is very kind

Lauren Bachman: Some of the best lamb I have ever had in my life! Interesting seasoning, perfectly cooked, juicy, deliciously tender and fatty. I also had a lovely cocktail and the beef rindfleisch tataki which was fresh and delicious, just a little overwhelming with spicy peppers. Generous portions, attentive and friendly staff, one of my favorite meals in Berlin.

Shinji: Good exotic dishes, but sort of hit or miss as well. The atmosphere in general is chic, and the service was also great.

H. H.: Looks like the restaurant overcame previous challenges - we had a superb evening. Enjoyed the tuna and octopus A LOT, as well as the lively atmosphere. Staff were attentive and trying. A bit of wait is normal these days, but in our case totally within acceptable time frames even if the restaurant was packed. Compliments especially to the chef! Will def return.

William Louis Brickman: Great experience, delicious cocktails. Paul made the best espresso martini and gin sour I’ve had in Berlin, make sure to talk to him if you come here. Overall great service, ambience, and music. The flowers at the entrance were a nice touch.

Magdalena Blankenburg: Nice restaurant with decent food, but service was (again) a nightmare! I’ve been second time at this restaurant, but made the same experience as first time. We had a reservation and were seated at a table right in the front of the kitchen and entrance where everybody from waiters til guests passed to the toilet or kitchen, though there were a lot of tables free. It felt like we had no reservation. We kindly asked for another table and it was clear that the hostess didn’t like our request. We finally were placed to another table, which was ok. The drink menus showed different pricing (same bottle of wine was 40€ in wine card and 55€ on the food menu!). When asking the waiter about the differences he apologized and said the menus were to be changed next week. Service continued to be horrible when the waiter almost run away after asking taking our order for drinks though we had said we wanted to order food as well. He said he‘d bring the drinks first. We insisted on placing our food order and he finally agreed to take it. Starters were really good and came fast. After finishing our bottle of Crémant a different waitress showed up and tried to offer us a bottle of champagne, though we hadn’t asked for it. She continued to sell the champagne by stating they only had one bottle left and it felt like she was ignoring us saying no to champagne. Main course was ok. The oyster mushrooms were grilled too long, tasted dry and were hard to chew. At 10 pm the lights were dimmed and the DJ turned up the music so loud, that we had to scream to understand. Almost every table in the restaurant was still eating or in a conversation and it felt like they were trying to push the club feeling though the guests clearly weren’t in the mood. The only ones enjoying the party feeling was the staff. When we tried to ask for the bill the waiters just kept dancing and ignoring guests. Overall: - food was ok - restaurant ambient is quite nice - it’s a nice idea to turn the restaurant into a club after dinner, but it’s irritating when guests are ignored and clearly still eating or in a conversation - service is horrible

Nikos Fanidakis: Mani Restaurant is one of the restaurants I always recommend to someone visiting Berlin. The food is simple, unpretentious but of great taste and quality. Try the fish plates as they all deliver their promise, but do not underestimate the meat plates as they too live up to the expectations. Highlights are the design and atmosphere, the great service and the freshly baked bread.

Alessio Avellan: Made a much better experience than the other reviews. Been here a few years back and was surprise how it turned into one of the best experiences in Berlin. Food phenomenal, vibey DJ (not too loud), friendly service. Will be back more often 🙏🏼

Anjo: Overpriced bread you can't even eat.. No to be serious, my experience wasn't that good. I left hungry and we had to wait for ages between starters and main dishes. Starter where okay Main dishes where really not my thing.. And I don't get why you put food on salty bread, that's so salty that the staff has to tell you don't eat it. Rest of the fish an potatoes where way to salty too (everyone at the table agreed). Desserts where nice, but you can't really go wrong with brownies, can you?

דניאל כהן: One of the best Israeli restaurants in Berlin. Classic, elegant with good food and good energies. The chef of the restaurant is amazing! Yummi dishes !

Carl Kruse: Unlike other reviewers I was not bothered by many dishes served on salty bread - and found almost all of the food, from the octopus appetizers to the steak, which was one of the best I have had in Berlin, to be good. The service was friendly, competent even if a little bit distracted. But all good. Ambiance is sultry, almost nightclubish, and I would recommend the restaurant for a gathering of friends or a birthday celebration, especially on a weekend when they have a DJ and the place gets rambunctious.

CousCous Café & Bistro: what do users think?

Enisha Eshwar: As of now, my absolute favourite place in Berlin. It is always the small places that truly surprise you. Amazingly, tasty food. I love the couscous bowl with veggies and avacado. It is run by a very sweet person - Gabriel who does all the work himself. What really amazed me is- i visited this place one day and on my 2nd visit after a few days, he just saw me and remembered what I ordered :) How amazing is that! I've found my happy place :) If you go during peak lunch hour between 12.30-2, you will have to wait a while. Plan accordingly or be ready to wait. You won't regret it.

Sasha: I had the falafel and avocado burrito - amazing food and really good value for money!

Samantha Grunow: Overall a bit disappointed in our experience. The service was excellent, the food was okay, but neither were worth the price (of the teller) - the man at the counter explained the menu and was very kind. The food also was relatively yummy, but we were disappointed in a lack of "umph" we somehow expected from the reviews we'd seen... The falafel were nice and fluffy but the outside was more like a skin than a crust, so there was no crunch, and the couscous had nice flavor but we also ordered grilled vegetables (€4) and there weren't many in the dish. Overall I payed €14,60 for one plate with couscous, 3 pieces of falafel, and some grilled veggies. I felt like this was a reasonable price for a nice meal, but what I got was fairly average, and definitely not worth more than two burritos (which I could have gotten for under €12) - overall I wouldn't recommend to go out of your way but would happily suggest stopping in for another option from the menu if you're walking by.

Jessica Ibarra: It's a great local cafe with delicious food! My husband got the couscous with chicken. I highly recommend the falafel teller. The owner is friendly and speaks English, which was a plus for us!

Roberto Arsiè: My favourite place in the area for a quick and tasty lunch! The halloumi - avocado sandwich is amazing and I must have eaten 1000 of them without getting tired :)

Filip Machat: Nice bistro with a lot of options for vegetarian, vegan, and some gluten free options. Very reasonably priced and delicious. Had the falafel and sweet potato burrito, really liked it.

Borja Latorre: Great tasty and healthy food with plenty of vegan options. We had the pumpkin-avocado-grilled veggies burrito and the falafel sweet potato plate and it was delicious and the portion very filling. Maybe a bit expensive but the quality is worth it

Will Fischer: Delicious food, but the service went above and beyond. When my girlfriend had a coughing fit, he was out with a friendly glass of water in no time. Really a kind, gracious gesture that meant a lot to us!

Alex C: Great place to get lunch. Not vegetarian (as google says) but plenty of vegetarian options.

Łukasz Pudło: Delicious, fresh food, I advise you to visit for vegetarians and gluten-free people Vegetarian options: Delicious Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free

Anastasia Tziasta: This is the best place to eat in Berlin! Traditional German food well cooked, friendly and fast service plus a very unique environment! Father and son (owners of the place) have made our experience there even better! Highly recommended!!

Stefan Johnson: Pleasant neighborhood place and no tourists (besides my table), with authentic German food. Fair price and waiter spoke good English, while being timely and attentive, very pleasant service. I had a very perfect tender pork knuckle (cured in-house), with mashed potato and sauerkraut, and a 0.5L of their own unique lager. Others at my table enjoyed the pork medallion and rouladen as well. One of us had ice cream with berry sauce and was nice, another had strudel which was good but said it was slightly bland. I finished with a czech raspberry brandy. Will need to go back here if I'm back in Berlin!

Im Garbino: The best service, amazing food, great environment I cannot recommend this place enough if you go to Berlin it’s a must stop. Made us feel very welcome and really showed the hospitality and heart of Berlin!!!!

Mattia Bosetti: We ordered a pork knuckle and spatzle with mushrooms, both were really good, in particular the spatzle.great beer and also nice and kind staff.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

Robert Murray: Wonderful meal in a cool and relaxed setting. The father and son in duo were lovely and the son took the time to sit down and run me through the menu of traditional German food. I opted for the veal's liver which was delicious. Followed up by apple strudel. Definitely worth going out of your way for this one.

Milana Nurgalieva: Totally recommend this place!!! The beer is amazing, the dishes are suuuuper tasty. This meat was so tender that I don't even need to use knife. If you are interested it was deer. And the place itself small and cozy. It's very felt like it's German place By the way a bit costy, but I assure you, you will not regret

Jason Balram: In short: without a doubt, visit this place. Found this place through a short google search and after reading some of the rave reviews, I had to check it out. I was not disappointed one bit. Before I speak about the incredible food, I want to acknowledge the service. Really awesome ambiance as well - away from the busy streets and I’m a space that allows you to connect. The food was so rich and full of flavor. I’m already recommending it to my friends even before finishing the meal!

Bojana Sakic: We ate here on two of our five nights in Berlin because we enjoyed it so much! Very hearty portions of delicious, traditional German cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere with friendly service. The prices are also super reasonable for the quality of the food. I'm not a beer drinker but the wine on offer was lovely and my partner definitely enjoyed the beer selection. Can't wait to head back when we're in Berlin again!

Márk: Absolutely the best dishes I’ve tried in Berlin. The service was also really kind. You MUST try it in Berlin.

Tathiana Chermont: We are in Berlin for three days and we wanted to try some typical German food. We looked for information and saw that they had good recommendations about Hackethal's. We sent an email to book and soon received confirmation ( reservation is necessary as the place is very small ). Anyway, super cozy place, Mr. Frank and his son are very attentive and friendly, and wonderful food. We had venison and duck leg with wine sauce. Both delicious. Heard about the liver dish and I'm already curious to go back. Apfelstrudel delicious also!! I highly recommend it.

Clärchens Ballroom: what do users think?

Elisabeth Nefeli Motoshige: I really liked my experience there and the food was delicious. Definitely on a food coma afterwards! The only thing I wish was different is being able to get a reservation easier; while I was there the restaurant was pretty full but they still had some tables free even though it showed complete booked on the reservations platform and people were turned away…

Iara Fulco: Really recommend this restaurant! Nice place in a good neighborhood. There are a lot of tables outside and inside so make it easy to get one.

Rūta Keviešena: Highly recommend this place! The atmosphere, the place, food - everything was great! Food was delicious! Spent nice afternoon in there.

Tilman Benecke: it is an old venerable restaurant which defines its charm by being a bit run down. Hard to complain, prices are expensive but reasonable for this area. Beer prices for half a liter are still less than €5, which is rare these days. The Berlin Sausage Salad took a little getting used to because of the slightly delicate tasting cheese, but it was still easy to chew and digest. the staff was on point and friendly.

Karim Dernaika: The garden is lovely and this restaurant has a nice atmosphere, the food is ok, I only tried the Berliner wurst and had a few drinks. If the weather is nice, it’s worth a visit and make sure to sit in the garden

Niklas Burghardt: Wonderful location! The kitchen is delicious and if you want to learn how to dance you can also book a course. Highly recommended location! Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian alternatives. You can also ask for vegetarian options to the meat courses.

Luigi Puno (Luigi): Quite a nice outdoor seating area, with nice evening ambiance too. The beer is cold, the meatballs were juicy! (I find that they tend to be pretty dry when you order them in other places!) I can also recommend the Truffle flammkuchen, that was pretty unique! You can pay with card 👌

L Wang: Beautiful restaurant with great German food and friendly staff. Strongly recommend!

Kathryn Callow: There was a few issues with a booking I made. My sister in the UK had made a €50 gift certificate for my Canadian relative visiting me in Berlin so she could try schnitzel. They didn't have the booking in the book. I had to show the email. The hostess really did her best but of course it meant we had a bad aisle table by the door with lots of disturbance. Not ideal for a special occasion. The server had low training. She couldn't answer questions on the menu. Be warned the vegan schnitzel was sold out by our sitting at 20.00. She didn't know how to handle the gift certificate. She asked in a strange way for the table back at closing, I did 7 years in service 'can I bring you the cheque ladies?' is adequate compared to 'we close. You must leave. So go' at precisely 22.00. Strange phrasing... Top marks for an alcohol free champagne, to my knowledge the only one in Berlin where a drinker can prost together with a dry version. A lovely male runner took our picture at the disco ball. I've been for other people's celebrations before it was a little sad to spend €50 on Flammkuchen we'd gone for the schnitzel and mentioned that on the booking. Please please please prep more schnitzel for schnitzeltag 20.00 isn't so late. If you know 20.00 is too late and the booking comes for schnitzel perhaps you could recommend the guest an earlier time slot? Total €76

Cristian Preuss: Nice place. Service could be faster. Food is good and good value.
