She should be ashamed of herself. Other reviews have mentioned her and mentioned that non-german speakers i.e. foreigners are not welcome. I should have heeded the warning. Nothing but bad wishes to you. Horrid person.

Jo'juan Johnson: Wow what an amazing way to spend one of our last nights in Berlin!!! TheCoven bar is a really special place. When we got in there were just a few people in the place and we got the chance to take in the cool, dark but inviting atmosphere. We also got to chat with the amazing bartender tonight Tom who completely added to the inviting feel! This didn't last long as the place was quickly packed with locals, tourists, men and women. This did nothing however to change the great atmosphere. The place was packed but still very chill. The music was upbeat but understated. And the bartender Tom, if anything seemed more in his element taking care of the non-stop requests. There is an extensive lists of original cocktails as well as twists on classics. Anyone looking to enjoy themselves in Berlin would be well served doing in at TheCoven!!!!

Ahmed Ashraf: I spent a couple of nights in Berlin, went to a ton of bars but nothing tops the Coven, the cocktails, the shots and even the beer were some of the best drinks I have ever had in my entire life. Husik is easily the greatest bartender in the city, and the nicest man I met in Berlin. The Coven is a must stop if you want some place cozy with great drinks and casual music in the background.

Aarron Hirst: If your face doesn't fit you won't be allowed in. Having travelled all over the world I have never been not allowed to enter a bar until now... I arrived at The Covern bar last night for the door man to tell me that they were full. It's venue's like this that don't deserve your custom plus so many more great inclusive bars in Berlin that do deserve your patronage.

Darshan Gajara: One of the weirdest bars I've ever been to. I generally don't feel unsafe anywhere in Berlin but this place had scary vibes. Some people constantly kept staring at us since the time we entered. The bartender was nice but except that everything felt very sketchy. The interior of the bar is like a dark alley, very dirty and there's no point commenting on the washroom 😅
Baddy Dibba: The bar is not clean fish and people are so disrespectful and and drunk. I think it's safe to be there. Many thinks happening there Berlin is good and safe.but bei schlawinchen no is not safe for anyone please for the safety don't go there and get drunk. Always if you there with strangers people at.........
errezeta: I really liked the music they were playing, the atmosphere was very nice and I liked the ornamentation inside. I didn't like that people smoke inside, but unfortunately that's most of the time normal in Berlin.
Levente Balázsi: Amazing ambience, if you visit as a tourist (like I did), it really gives you the "local feeling". Also very cheap, and the people there are extremely friendly. However, usually it's so crowded you cannot even sit down, and the fumes of smoke can be a bit overwhelming.

The place is extravagantly decorated. It has table football. The pub is very small and, unfortunately, smoking is allowed inside. Step in for a beer or two when you are nearby.
Giada Sami: Surreal. One of my best memories of Berlin. Monday morning 4 am, cheap beers and cigarettes. Got lost in the decor and many drunken rambles. It’s gritty, might not be everyone’s jam, but I felt at home listening to the stories of all the strangers coming to my table from all corners of life. People watching at its finest. Acid trip flashbacks. Lady playing foosball balancing a beer bottle on her head. Mystical/mythical place, will stay wi the me for a long time. I can barely wait to go back (only fear is that I might not want to leave)
Jaymes Tree: Amazing atmosphere full of locals and travellers alike . 24/7 opening times are a dream. Pints at around €3 lush. Had the funniest night out in a while here in Berlin worth a visit for a late night sesh.
Godfrey Ryan: Absolutely super pub. Great layed-back atmosphere. It's a 24 hour pub with cool customers and staff, and beer at very reasonable prices. It opened 36 years ago and has never closed even for one day or one hour or one minute since then. It get's a 100% recommendation from me.
Fulya Gönültaş: Probably the only bar in Kreuzberg that is open 24/7. They have such a nice atmosphere very interesting interior with full objects.
Aga Kuleta: Cheap 24h pub with smoking still allowed, only one draught beer and unique atmosphere, a tourist attraction in it's own right. What's there not to like?

Christy Casamayor: My favorite bar in Friedrichshain! There is no menu so you simply tell the bartender what you're in the mood for - voila - you might find your next favorite drink. They have a terrace for summer but make sure to also check the interior. It's super cozy and the staff is always very friendly and attentive.
Aki Latvamäki: Artesan cocktails with a unique personal twist, lovely staff, soft atmosphere and great music, what more can you ask for a drinks place? Booze bar is as good as it gets.

Joe Johnson: We went here for espresso martini’s but they were out. Instead of leaving we stayed and that was the best decision we made. This place has a wonderful atmosphere, great vibes, and an amazing and friendly staff. While their were no espresso martinis they had White Russians and they were phenomenal. They didn’t taste like the White Russians I typically have in America. They are delicious here. The cocktails are so good, the bartenders are good, and there’s a picture of Farrah Fawcett for you to drink under. I definitely recommend stopping by and having a drink!

AGUSTINDIJOQUE: The atmosphere is simply AMAZING. But the most important is the attention from the staff Hassam and Anastasia who is an artist 🧑🎨 with the drinks, just watching her preparing the drinks and cocktails is stunning. They offer your a chocolate liquor which is delicious. The drinks menu is delicate and well done. Is a must to come here is you are in Berlin. They have all that you want and know what they mix. The music is perfect, including the volume.

We went here for my partner and I’s anniversary and we got to chat with the bartenders about the drinks, which they are very knowledgeable and informing of the drink in perspective of your preferences. Rodrigo Rivera: This bar is full of creative creations. There are cocktails for everyone, and the location offers a very cozy and intimate atmosphere. It is a great place to go for a date or meet someone.
Fariba Fathi: We ordered 3 different cocktail, i liked their new taste, also the dark wall and design made the atmosphere more comfortable. Staffs are friendly and price a little expencive. Smoking is free inside and maybe it effect on you after some hours. I liked here and definitly i'll come back!

Daniel Devine: Was in Berlin (Dec ‘22) for a gig (Shikari in Potsdam) and was looking for rock type bars and this was on our list. Was reasonably sized inside, had a decent selection of drinks and helpful bar staff. Had a fair few locals, and a louder group than us came in and played fusball table, which didn’t bother us, if anything just added to the atmosphere. Music was good, if anything could have been a little louder haha! Overall good experience, would go back again if in the area!
Kjartan Abel: Upon my arrival at Trinkteufel, I was immediately swayed by the pleasant atmosphere. It's easy to see why the pub is so popular with the locals. The ambiance is festive, and they have a good selection of beers. Take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It was a bit of a departure for me, as I am more of a synthwave fan, but I have to give it credit for creating a positive atmosphere. During our visit, they had a unique playlist.
Nicolas Balcazar: Das Tor zur Hölle seit 1997. Nice cosy bar in the middle of Kreuzberg. Prices are decent. The atmosphere nice. Attracts all kind of crowds, everybody feel welcome. Special recommendation is the shot called Kettenfett. Combined with a Hausbier vom Fass you can't go wrong.
Ruxandra Grecu: Reminded me of being 20 and going to metal places. There is so much devil imagery and decoration there that it was probably all ready for Halloween. Oh, and the tables have animal print, which is beautiful. It's a nice place to have a beer on a Sunday evening.
Stefan Sothmann: Cool spot right by Kotti, with a good selection of drinks and really cheap beer. Music was a bit too loud, especially after the rush died down but at least it was good music ;) Was also very stuffy, but that's about normal for the time of year.

Paulo Román: Extremely rude and pretentious staff. Never been treated so bad and asked to “choose another bar” before. If you looking for a nice bar avoid this place :) Update: Sure let’s get the story straight: Your staff had a dangerously placed tray by the entrance bar that at the slightest touch (that could have been anyone passing) created this whole mess. My friend apologized innumerable times to your staff and your staff instead of providing help and solutions to an accident became extremely rude and literally kicked us out without “recommending Marsha’s” as you mentioned. Of course I will invest time in writing a review when I had such a bad experience that infected our night and a situation like this never has happened to me before. When working in hospitality, accidents happen, things break and your staff should know how to de escalate the situation instead of letting her anger and frustration out towards your visitors (as I’ve read we are not the first to experience something like this in your bar).

Why was the staff telling you you should find another bar that day? And even recommended Marsha`s Bar across the street. So let's tell the entire story. You entered the Bar with three Ladies. One Lady leaned at the Bar and for what reason, lets assume accidentally, cleared the entire Barsetup. Glasses, decorations, trays everything slammed at the working area and the floor. So a total mess. No communication. Quietness. No apologies. No offered help or anything. So that unnecessary situation and no communication from the person which was responsible for that was the reason to tell you just to leave BRYK and to go to our friends at Marsha's. Now we had to clean up your mess now without any compensation from your side. But thank you very much for investing your time to write a review like this. At least you had a good time at Marsha´s as they told us. Best Carsten
Nathalie Nebelius: My favourite bar in Berlin, cosy and dark with a fore place in the winter and lovely outside in the summer. They have a fun smoked gin concept, definitely worth a try. Love the complementary dill popcorn. They also have a good selection of really nice alcohol free drinks that I highly recommend. Card payment accepted.

CJ: Very Slow and rude staff. Not only did we have to wait ages for our drinks, even paying took ages. Will not return again. Edit: We did not yell at anyone nor slam the door, so it seems like we were not the only group that did not enjoy the evening lol. Maybe you should rethink the way you react to negative reviews, very unprofessional

Mark Gulati: Bar tries to maintain an air of exclusivity when really it is one of many bars in the area. You sell alcohol to thirsty people, we get it. We actually had a good time here. The entrance has a buzzer you must press, and someone then lets you in. It is non-smoking inside, which is nice. The cocktails were on the expensive side, but we chalked that up to new PBerg pricing. They were made decently and arrived fairly quickly, bonus points for that. We all got different glasses, which was a laugh. Bonus points for the water and popcorn as well. Our server was friendly. They mainly have cocktails that they seem to have made up themselves, including a few seasonal specials. Only one craft beer though, unfortunately.

Friedrich Arnold: Friendly staff is highly skilled in cocktail mixing. Place is famous for it's Smoked Gin & Tonic. I tried 'The Scotchman's Kiss' yesterday. Was very good. They bring out new seasonal cocktails a lot. So it's always been worth coming back. I like the popcorn, too :)

Felix: Great bar with amazing drinks, I mean really amazing. There you don't find the normal gin tonic (although you of course also can order it there) but super creations of different liquor. Also the decoration of the glass was great. Only negative this time was that we didn't get the attention of the waiter for a long time for ordering and also when paying.

Fikret Can Kuşadalı: There is a guy working (or maybe the owner idk) there he is shouting everyone about something which is extremely rude. Edit: I am sure you understand, but i am not talking about being loud because of the crowd. The guy at the bar was yelling to the customers, which is not really friendly. If you have rules you can warn people in a kind way. Anyway i would never visit again, i recommend the same for other people too.

Jamie Hannaford: Good drinks but weird vibe. The place looked and smelled like the inside of a taxi, and the staff were quite aloof and unfriendly at times. They even checked our banknote at the end of the evening as if we were giving them fake money. Nice cocktails but it just felt quite strange and pretentious.

Sailor Moon: This bar is really dark and looks luxurious. It is a nice place to have a few drinks. The vibe just wasn’t there for me personally. Drinks were okay but nothing to crazy. The girls working the bar were nice. It would be instagram worthy if it wasnt to dark to take photos.
Frazzot: Very cosy bar and nice staff. I'm not a fan of the fact that you can smoke inside, the air was thick and gave me a sore throat. But that's more of a me-problem! Loved it otherwise!

Get it if you’re training staff as mentioned in other responses but staff is just chatting, sipping drinks and smoking. Drinks are very overpriced, extremely average. Would’ve loved to like it here but it was extremely dissapointing.

Nikolaus Velich: This place is not a cocktail bar. The waiters are all about 19 years old, have no clue about classic cocktails and have never heard of offering water with drinks. Our whiskey sour’s were basically sugar waters, no egg white inside and for 13€ per drink the whole experience was more than disappointing.

Franz Wiedemann (Foreign_Francis): Management seems to not have a clue on how to run a business. Employees are untrained, even though they are trying their best. However, when you pay 15-20€ for a cocktail you expect and deserve better.

Piero D'Onofrio: The best cocktail bar in the area, thanks to the skill of the bartender. I am passionate about margaritas and here they are excellent, but the other cocktails (large choice) are also very well done. Highly recommendable.
Xie Long: This bar strikes the sweet spot between fancy cocktail bar and inviting place to casually hang out. Big plus are the multiple big tables and seating areas (for a higher class cocktail bar) while the prices are more than fair. Personally I love the creativity that went into their menu, from horoscope drinks to creating a random drink by rolling the dice. Been here with colleagues on various occasions and will surely be back again.
Teresa Maria: The moment that the bartender starts reading a recipe, you should know disappointment will come crashing down on you. The nice atmosphere and lights of this bar might trick you into thinking, that the quality of the served beverages might be better than tab water. The served cocktails tasted rather watery and the salty sticks were extremely dry. Keep in mind that prices in this bar aren't low. Serving took long time even though the bar wasn't packed. Sad

Michal Wichowski: Cheap and hip location but very rude bartender - after refusing to make a diet version of the Cuba Libre, I asked for a can of diet coke and a glass of rum - to which the bartender refused. The drinks were not well made - Cuba Libre was on white rum instead of the appropriate gold/dark rum and Aperol Spritz did not have the propper ratios - too much water, not enough prosecco.

Kaleigh Woods: This place was great! I loved the atmosphere and the bartender was truly an artist at his work. The only reason I didn't rate it higher was how dead it was -- granted it was a Thursday night, but all the other bars had tons of people. It felt like a newer bar that did not conform to the traditional dive-bar feel all the other bars had going on on that street. They definitely deserve more recognition than they have.
Dylan Korver: Späti + cocktail bar. Plenty of seating inside. Cheapest place to drink and the cocktails are better than average. 5eu for a espresso martini beers are 1.5-2euro + you can get tobacco and rolling paper etc of course as well. In winter it's a great place to start the night, gets busy toward midnight.

Ryan Messner: Trendy hidden bar and restaurant near Friedrichstraße station. More than just bartenders slinging pints — they are artists, hosts, entertainers! Earlier in the evening the bar is generally empty and everyone keeps to themselves. As the night carries on, the place starts filling up with a trendier crowd, and turns more into a club. Hit the bar for some pre-dinner cocktails, enjoy dinner at the Backroom Cantina, and then stay for the DJ or Band. They do allow smoking inside and have coat check available. Cant find the entrance — YG?
Rik de Koning: I got in, which - as I understand - can sometimes be troublesome for foreigners. The place has a great ambiance, almost a bit posh. Don't expect a simple night out in a bar kind of feeling. Music was good and was building up slowly as the night progressed. Cocktails were a bit expensive and took a long time for the waiters to make. In the end we even waited for half an hour and still didn't got our drinks, even when we've asked for them a second time.
Christakis Psyllides: Nice place for a drink and a very cool entrance. Hard to find if you don't know where it is but that's part of the cool vibe. If you in there then you know about this place. It's expensive but the drinks menu offers some unusual and unique options worth getting through. Get there before 11pm to ensure you get a table and enjoy. Nice music too and not too loud so you can talk, which is good...

Karolina Biskup: This place was on my list when we visit Berlin and even thought we had to wait in queue more than half hour I think it was worth it. The view is speechless, especially during sunset. Drinks were amazing - the best quality and interesting taste. Unfortunately we haven’t seen any animals from zoo but the view was really nice still :)
Mattia Chiapello: Great rooftop bar, with a nice ambiance, good views over the zoo areas, and great cocktails! Keep in mind that drinks are on the expensive side (€13–15), but we all agreed it was worth it, since they all tasted really good. Also consider that the zoo has no light at night, so if you want a good view of that side, you should come before it gets dark. And there was a line to enter the bar (about 10 mins), so one more reason to come early! PS: our waitress was a little grumpy, but we were having such a good time that it didn't bother us at all, if anything it added to the experience. Not sure if it was an isolated episode or if all waiters are like that.
Ire: I do not know why this place seems like a very top rated tourist destination. The drink and music are good. We were at the window seats yet there is not much to see as it was facing to the zoo. If it was facing to skyscrapers, the view would be so much better. This is the reason I don’t why people are crazy about this place, like there is NO view lol. It was during covid so we waited for like an hour? The seats are also very close each other. Anyway, drinks are good. That is it. No need to wait an hour to come I think.
Nila Homar: I went to this place on a weekday. We didn’t have to wait for a long time like on a weekend. Still, the place was so crowded.They have good cocktails and an amazing city view from the top.But I don’t think the place matches the hype.
Shinji: Very crowded with loud music. A place to enjoy the vibe, not to talk. Staffs were nice, the drinks were okay. If you sit outside, there‘re people always coming to take pics of the skyline and block your view. Would be better visiting during the daytime - relaxed with good views. (Plus most of the positive reviews are from the people who visited at afternoon.)
Dexter P: Perfect view over the park. The drinks are also delicious and worth the premium price. The side dishes from Neni are also perfect combination. Especially the Korean chicken. Unfortunate to read all complaints about the waiting time. They are open from 13h so you do not need to stay in line. Just do not come at peak times at night.

Olli Lappalainen: Went there with a quite large group of friends on Saturday nights. Bar had very nice atmosphere and music. Definitely a place to go for a metal fan. Drinks were very good. The staff seemed not to be very good with English or not very willing to speak it. So as tourists as we were, we were lucky to have someone with ok'ish skills in German. So probably it'd be good to hone your skills to order drinks in local language. The "Halford" coctail was very tasty.

Owen Duffy: Awesome metal bar with gleefully over-the-top decor, including a giant cartoon statue of Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford. Playlist included a mix of classic hard rock and heavy metal bands and more local and underground acts, plus some cheesy hair metal if that's your kinda thing... Really attentive staff and some very friendly regulars. The only slightly weird point was when Gary Glitter came on the sound system, but I'm guessing that was picked by an algorithm rather than a person!
