THE FIZZ Berlin: what do users think?

Pavlin Kopankov: Best student dorms I have ever stayed at!!! The prices are great, considering how perfect the rooms are. They have all the necessary furniture for a student. The bed was really really comfortable, it was soft and comforting. The toilet was like a throne, the second I sat on it I felt like the king of the castle. I quite honestly spent at least 5 hours a day in there, it was that comfortable. All in all I would recommend it to all my friends.

Erdem Ilıca: Patrick was perfect house manager, my moving in and moving out process was very smooth with him. In addition to that, he helped about my questions in my tenancy period. Also I can recommend the Fizz to a people who comes to Berlin new, in terms of it is facilities and a great location.

Essil Jemaa: The Fizz Berlin is more than just a home, it's a vibrant community that brings people together. I spent the last 6 years here and had the best time ever. The people here are super nice , our house manager is always trying to support tenants and making sure that everyone feels at home. I definitely recommend this place for students that are looking for a comfortable and cozy place that has an active fun community.

miss girl: Super friendly staff and helpful staff! They host fun social events that allow us to meet other fizzies. Shoutout Patrick for saving me after I locked myself out of my room 🙏🏾

vitto p: The fizz is an amazing place. You have your own room, bathroom and kitchenette, but at the same time there are common areas and community events to meet a lot of new people. The position is great. Patrick, the house manager, is extremely nice and supportive. I would totally recommend living there!

Rohan Singh: Great location, close to all the central areas in berlin. You get the chance to meet fun people and the staff hosts events frequently which really helps in getting to know others. The only issue I really have is with the pricing. I feel like the pricing is a too high for the rooms and you end up paying a lot more than you should ideally be paying. Apart from that the fizz is great for students who have just moved in, friendly environment and great people. The staff is mostly made up of fizz residents working part time - so everyone is super sweet.

A. H.: Appearantly, it is a company running private student dormitories in multiple German cities. They don’t have local staff in each city. The rent and the deposit are super expensive. Their websites allow to book rooms even though there are no available rooms and they ask for extra documents even though they don’t have available rooms. They try to exploit foreign students and some students can be scammed or be a victim of identity theft. Addition to your response on 09.06.2022. Your reply is vague and explains nothing. your processes lack of ethics and designed to exploit students. Your website lacks proper explanation or tutorials as you claimed. Besides it allowed booking.6 months prior to start of the winter semester and even though there are no available apartments as per your explanations via email. I didn't even received any proper explanations via emails either. I believe you are trying to scam people of steal identity. If it is not the case, you discriminate students based on nationality and age. It doesn't make sense to send any documents or transfer any amount of money before seeing a place to rent. If it is requested so, it is definitely a case of scam. Now after a google review again you claim you answer via email which definitely you will not do. Don't expect students to trust or prefer your dormitory with these bad practices and extremely high prices compared to many other available student apartments.
Response: Dear S.Korkmazer, Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention and for taking the time to leave us a review. We apologize for a misunderstanding regarding the booking process on our website. At THE FIZZ, we care about the transparency and therefore our booking process has been clearly explained in details on our website, you can read more about it here (https://www.the-fizz.com/en/tutorials/). Just like any student housing provider, we are required to ask for the list of documents that prove that you are a student and eligible to book an apartment with us. Privacy of our customers is important to us, we only collect the data which are necessary to fulfil our services and execute our contracts with potential tenants. Regarding the availability of our apartments, we open the bookings according to the semester start season of universities and 3-4 months prior to the starting date of the contract. If you would like to see the house before booking, you are always welcome to visit the house on site. However, if all the apartments are fully occupied by tenants at the moment of your visit, it is only possible to view the facilities. We hope we have answered your questions. If you would like to further the discussion, we are always happy to answer you in more detail via email: sales@the-fizz.com. Kind regards, Your THE FIZZ Team

Niya Daskalova: Perfect location with a bus stop directly in front of the door, lots of supermarkets in the area, staff is really friendly and helpful :)

E M A: When I moved to Berlin, a little over a year ago, I had never been to Germany before and it was mid pandemic, nevertheless the FIZZ, and all of its employees, did a good job of making me feel welcome and part of a community. When I arrived I was greeted by a sweet guy with purple hair who answered all of of my questions, from nearest grocery store to how to set up my router. My room was in a good condition when I received it, it was like a blank canvas, so I could decorate it however I wished and I can see see the tv tower from from my room! The facilities are always in great condition and were easy to find. Though doing your washing is a bit pricey and the rent is too, you’re paying for convenience, but I wouldn’t have made the friendships I have if I had not moved here. So I’m pretty glad to have had the opportunity to be part of the FIZZ community.

Nasos DA: Great location close to S+U, bus station right in front of the building.Very active community, friendly and competent staff.

Staytoo Apartments Berlin: what do users think?

Bruno “Grizzly”: Location is pretty good, staff is friendly, people here for the most part are wonderful. Fairly well equipped and the common room is definitely a plus for either studying or relaxing. Price is probably the only downside

Elijah Mensah: This company they’re not serious.I’ve sent them several emails for student studio and they don’t even bother to reply you.

Y. Y.: I was thrilled to come to Germany and excited to be one of the first students to move in in the staytoo apartment in Berlin. Unfortunately the building was not ready. Staytoo was doing a lot to fix this issue. They were arranging a hotel, breakfast, dinner event and laundry service. Finally when I was moving in it become to get better. The location of the apartment, the people and the idea of the room is great. But for the price the common areas should have been done! This place is a good spot to be, to discover Berlin and meet new people!

Royden Cooper: This place is like a hotel. Fantastic location as well with a hip cafe in the bottom floor. The manager Mandy has attended to my every need and truly cares. I am currently staying here and could not recommend it more

Serge Klein: Clean small studios for students. My son lived there for 10 Months. Lidl at 100 m.

Li G: Got an offer for an apartment, accepted the offer, never heard back**just adding a reply to the owner's response - after you wrote your response to contact you, I wrote an email and still didn't hear back.

Eleonora Guardini: Super cool student accommodation in one of the best neighbourhoods of Berlin! I love the neutral design and communal spaces, plus its proximity to public transport.

Expelled MGIMO: Worst service. Greedy people. Extremely small apartments and very high prices. Don’t live there. It’s a pure disaster

Igor Scharich: Super

Abhishek Tamhankar: I I have already visited the Staytoo and seen the available apartments and made a booking request. But I'm still waiting for an answer and will follow the further process. I am looking for an apartment as soon as possible. Since they are available, I await an answer. I've been trying to call them for a week but no answer. I ask you to consider my request

SMARTments student Berlin - Studentenapartments: what do users think?

Lilac Pixx: Hello I am please begging someone to give me an email or phone that I can contact. I have been emailing since september and received no answer so far. I have been desperately looking for an apartment in berlin for a year as well. Thank you.

Amadeus Giovani Biga: I have been living here for more or less 2 months. This is a great place to live! Located in a strategic area, close to most-essential things like late night or normal grocery shops, cheap eats and public transports. Right in front of the building there's a beautiful canal where you can just sit and read a book while enjoying the sun(when it is sunny :)) For Berlin, the price is really reasonable!. The room is fully equipped. The "Hausmeister" is pretty much always there and ready to help. Yet the company itself isn't really well organized. I moved twice because my current room wasn't finished, and the company won't take any responsibility (even by sending me a little help in bringin my stuff) i have a lot of stuff because i moved from other part of Germany. They put me in a different room which is more expensive. I was thinking(negative side of me) that it was one of their marketing strategies to persuade me to take the more expensive room. Even they gave me a promotional offer like i could stay there, 3 months with the lower price, and afterwards the normal price. But i refused because the contract says my room is my current room. However i live now in my actual room. And i am happy to live here!

Baily Rose: Soooooo small feels like a prison. Benches for beds. Whoever is an architect and plans these kinds of buildings has no sympathy towards what a thriving human needs & designs for planned obsolescence. Sure, for a refugee this would be great ! They are about 500 euro a month, but you can barely make a proper meal for yourself (the “kitchenette” is tiny) so you spend more money eating out. The washing machines have double charged me multiple times (it takes a day just to do all your laundry running up and down to check on it —- plus ! If someone opens the door on accident during a dry cycle it stops and re.charges you. I just checked my bank account & it was 15 euro for two loads !? The tiny plastic parts on the curtains are definitely a planned obsolescence design - the tiny plastic parts break easily and are fragile. Being in front of the river is nice, but there are plenty of rats !!!! Knowing that you can get a large flat in Berlin or a spacious room with more amenities, this place is a rip off for Berlin :P

DIEGO ACUÑA BERGER: The smartments are really good, the people and the social life are amazing, but it is quiet aswell when it is required to. The rooms are pretty well equipped and you can find a really nice with even nicer people Spätkauf (a 24 hours shop) with tables outside where you can drink and chil. The name is Spätkauf Spree!!

Jennifer: Nice furnished student apartment with also not so expensive price for Berlin. But sometimes the washing room, community room, and the corridor is dirty. The Hausmeister is really hard to contact.

Ayat Alali: The best place to stay in for a long term stay... Quiet, safe and clean

Ingrid Gursli: Loud music and yelling in the yard until late at night, police are on site almost every night because of noise complaints.

Renée De Beer Saab: I emailed them and no one has gotten back to me, I believe it's been 2 weeks and when I call no one answers!!!

Ali Esen: Really nice place with nice rooms and friendly environment..!!

Santypower: I miss living here!

Neon Wood / Studenten Apartments Berlin Frankfurter Tor: what do users think?

Matija Vukosavljevic: I had a great time over the last two years, everything in the room works well. Location is the best. Gym is cool, Staff are very helpful and kind. Rent is A bit expensive depending on your situation.
Response: Dear Matija, Thanks for your email. We're delighted to read that we've provided you with a memorable experience in Berlin for two years in a row! Our all-in rent prices, which are in line with the local rent market, include everything that an easy living in the German capital can ask for: fully-furnished apartments, highspeed Internet, spacious study and gaming areas, gym, laundrette, friendly teams ready to assist you with any inquiries and small and big events that bring the community together. We're positive we can recover the fifth star in your review ;) Have a nice day! All the best, Your Neon Wood Team :)

Thyma Hisham: I stayed in Neon Woods for a few months while in Berlin and I have nothing but great things to say. My studio apartment was spacious enough for me and it overlooked the beautiful compound inside the area. My gratitude, especially, to the staff at the reception area. They make you feel absolutely welcome and they are always there to help you with a warm smile and friendly attitude. I cannot recommend this place enough! Big love from the Maldives
Response: Dear Thyma, We are grateful for your kind words on our Neon Wood Frankfurter Tor! It serves as proof that we're the best option for student accommodation in the German capital. With at least 5 categories to choose from, our varied offer adjusts to a wide young public. Regardless of which one you choose, you will always find yourself at home, as our apartments are the best example of functionality while still providing space for self-expression. Our large courtyard, as well as our modern laundrette, gym and lobby, are the perfect spots for our tenants to study, work or simply chill. Our friendly on-site team is daily available to answer any questions and organize cool events for the community to celebrate the easy lifestyle ;) We're happy that you were part of our community and that you'll have great memories of your stay with us. We wish you all the best in the future and will be glad to welcome you once more! :) All the best, Your Neon Wood Team :)

Moritz Erdt: It's such an amazing location. I wish I had the dough to be able to stay there. A friend of mine has, so we can also hang out with him in that huge co-working space looking lobby. Staff is super friendly and make you really feel welcome every time we go there. You can also play Playstation 5, pool and ping pong. Wow!
Response: Dear Moritz, Thank you for your 5-star rating! We are proud of every star you have given us as they reflect our achievement in providing first class services to our tenants. We look forward to seeing you again and wish you all the best! Warm greetings, Your neon wood team 😊

JDM: Neon Wood is a great option for anyone going to Berlin to study. The location is ideal, in one of Berlin's most student friendly neighbourhoods, whilst also being close to Kreuzberg. Rooms are a good size and it works well as a studio, the kitchen is good and the bathroom too. Any issues in the rooms are fixed quite quickly by raising with reception. The staff are very helpful and take interest in any issues you may have, they make your time here very easy as you rarely have to worry about anything. Study spaces and also places to watch TV or play video games are provided too. One problem was the laundry room, sometimes machines were broken for a while and it was not the cheapest. But overall, it is in an amazing location, there are a lot of interesting people and the staff is great at sorting out any problems which you have. Would definitely recommend.
Response: Dear JDM, Thank you for such a great review! Perfect location, beautiful apartments, fast response from our team, variety of high-quality services… It seems you have mentioned most of the aspects that make Neon Wood the best housing choice in Berlin. We’re glad to read that you’re mostly satisfied and that you recommend it to future tenants. Still, we regret that you didn’t find our launderette suitable. As an additional service that’s available on a daily basis, we offer our tenants the possibility to comfortably do their laundry without leaving home. Unfortunately, technical issues can happen any time, yet our team reacts quickly as to keep providing tenants with the most comfortable options at a price in accordance with the local market. We thank you once more for taking time to write such a nice review and hope to have you with us again soon! Have a nice day! All the best, Your Neon Wood Team 😊

yuri grippaldi: Perfect accommodation especially if you are new in the city. Fair prices considering the services you get and compared to the average rentals in the neighbourhood of Friedrichshain. The staff is always very kind and they always tries to solve any of your problems. Highly recommended.
Response: Dear Yuri, We are grateful for your 5-star review! It is feedback like yours that highly motivates us to keep up our good work and provide our tenants the excellent services we're famous for. It's been a pleasure to have you as part of our Community and hope to see you around! Have a nice day! All the best, Your Neon Wood Team 😊

Alexandros Liossatos: Very friendly receptionists, always there to help. I love how the gym is open 24/7. Beautiful courtyard for tanning and socializing on sunny days. Very easy to sign up and live here, well-organized!
Response: Dear Alexandros, Thanks for such an amazing review! It's great to read that you're highly satisfied with our services. We want your experience at Neon Wood to be remembered with a smile, therefore, we are committed to make every step of your journey with us easy and enjoyable. We're glad to see we've achieved that with you and look forward to keep surprising you with our outstanding services. Have a nice day! All the best, Your Neon Wood Team :)

Pau Picó: Fantastic 12-months rental experience. The apartment sign-up process, as well as the final handover was carried smoothly, no issues. FHain is a such a lively hood: anyway will feel like home. Amazing team, thanks for your help! 😊
Response: Dear Pau, We're really grateful for your beautiful review, as it perfectly summarizes our great offer at Neon Wood Frankfurter Tor. Our 5-years experience in hosting both national and international students have given us the perfect insight on what works best for tenants like you. Our check-in and check-out procedures have been optimized so that everything runs smoothly, and our team is always available to guide you through every step. It's been a pleasure to have you with us and we look forward to welcoming you once more in your second home in Berlin Friedrichshain :) All the best, Your Neon Wood Team :)

Cobalt Cucco: Great stay for students new to Berlin. Location is great, very close to the Ubahn, staff are friendly and the apartment is thoughtfully designed. I enjoyed the seasonal events and activities planned for the students throughout the year!
Response: Dear Cobalt, Thank you for your fantastic review! It seems you have mentioned some of the most important features of our accommodations -and therefore, some of the many reasons to choose us as for a perfect young lifestyle in Berlin ;) We take pride in our offer, which not only includes a place to live, but also common areas and events for our community to come together. If you ever feel like sharing your experience with more detail, our Community Team will be glad to hear from you! Feel free to write us at community.berlin@neonwood.com. All the best, Your Neon Wood Team 😊

Peivend Ghayori: My only issue is the pricing, something that gets made up by the super-friendly staff that’s always ready to give a helping hand with a smile. Personally I didn’t take a big part In the sicial settings, but for anyone who’s completely new to Berlin it seems like a perfect place to meet new people without the struggle that normally comes with coming to a new place. We were making a big film-project when I was here and the staff were amazingly helpful with our creative endaevours. Any place that appreciates and helps creativity deserves a five-star In my opinion. Plus the staff, location and the study room and social settings, this is a perfect place to start a new chapter in Berlin.
Response: Dear Peivend, We're grateful for your detailed review and the kind words to our team :) Creativity is indeed the fuel of our community; the unique design of our common areas and apartments serves as proof of it. Our friendly team, which is available daily, is committed to our tenants' well-being and always ready to listen and assist you with any inquiries you may have. Student life can be hectic, therefore, our all-inclusive rent model, as well as our variety of extra services takes burden off your shoulders. We thank you once more for your fantastic review and hope to have you with us again soon! :) All the best, Your Neon Wood Team :)

Anas Qasem: Stayed with Neonwood for almost 6 months, had the best experience with this dorm. Some might say it is expensive but regarding the location ,services and amenities that is provided,it makes the price worthy. The reception are the most friendly people you can ever meet, special thanks to Gerd ,Francesca and Lubna. Every time I had and issue they always tried to solve it Asap and if not they contact the person in charge and solve it. Regarding the deposit, as some other comments mention that they had issues with the deposit regarding how many days it took them to get it back. I had zero issue with the deposit and got the full amount back, keeping in mind it was an international transfer. It took them only 10 days to send and receive the money to my account. Also, the whole team are super helpful and they always replied to all the emails I sent and also the finance team were very helpful and understanding regarding an issue I had with my bank before and couldn't transfer the money on time. I would definitely recommend this dorm and would like to thank the whole team for their amazing work and services 👏.

Home & Co Berlin Yard - Studentenwohnheim: what do users think?

Sasho Stojkovikj: Nice area for living, in close proximity to supermarkets, close to the Ringbahn and U3. Apartments are nice, same for the people working for Nido, lived there for 1.5 years.

Y. L.: I've lived at Nido for six years. The apartment is situated in a quiet, green and safe location and it has always been a great feeling to come home after a busy day in Berlin. The current general manager Barbara and the Hausmeister Ben are both very competent, helpful and friendly people. Whenever there was an issue, they could resourcefully come up with a solution. In particular, Barbara's work at Nido has definitely improved the stay at Nido in the last few years.

Радина Пенкова: I've been living there for almost 7 years. Nido Students took over the property 2 years ago and renovated everything. The whole atmosphere changed and now everything looks really nice and clean. The management team is very kind and responding to your questions. The apartments are very suitable for young people and the location is perfect. I loved the whole neighborhood! Furthermore you have good transport connections, three supermarkets around the corner, pharmacies and more!

Teti Vitoratou: My son is a tenant in Garden Studios Berlin, since 2017. The place has recently been renovated and Ms Barbara, the new manager is amazing! Always there, taking care of all issues ASAP, answers the emails very quickly, very friendly and doing an excellent job. The place is amazing and the apartments are bright and very comfortable!

LIYING YU: Living in nido garten is very comfortable! The apartment offers brand new facilities after the renovation so that I can enjoy my new life after moving in. The apartment is conveniently located near several large supermarkets and parks. You can purchase almost all necessities within two kilometers. In addition, I would like to thank Barbara, the apartment manager, who was super nice and efficient in helping me check in!

Lidia Del Castillo: Dear Barbara,On behalf of our daughter Daniela, I want to thank for your help with her problem with the wasps, since she is allergic to them. We are thankful and really appreciate your support. THANKS NIDO BERLIN.

Rozana: FRAUDS & THIEVES Word to the wise.. stay away from their overpriced and overused small 1-room apartments. As Nido took over those apartments 2 years ago, they immediatly started raising the rent without any renovations or changes. The rent kept increasing every few months reaching an increase of 200€ above the initial prices, making the new rents rediculously too expensive and unjustified. They never even pre-informed the tenants, whose contracts were soon to end about that "spur of the moment" rental fee increase . Surely, their rentprices are illegal and against the current law in Berlin that enforces rent-limits (Mietendeckel), according to which all rental fees have significantly decreased. However, to justify their illegal prices, Nido carried out "renovations" over the past months, which are completely useless, irrelevant to the tenants, and seem like "money laundry" related. For example, they painted the buildings' facade with a different color, hammered few metal pieces on the roof (to which no one has access), and "modefied" the washingmachines room, where they absurdly put less machines (2 washingmachines for residents in all 3 buildings) and of course using the new machines costs more. I must also add, that since I moved out of that "money-sucking black hole", Nido did not return my security deposit until 5 months later after I was contacting them and complaining in every possible communication way. All despite giving them back the apartment flawless and super clean (despite initially paying a cleaning fee and recieving it dirty). Even when they after all returned my deposite, it wasn't the complete sume, despite calling them about that and sending them receipts and documents confirming this. Unfortunately, as a student I can't afford a lawyer, and Nido know this very well and they actually thrive upon it, that's why they put illegal prices and act illegally, because they know that we "international students" are not going to sue their greedy, fraudulent A**es. I don't normally write google reviews, but in this case i made an exception, since I feel ethically obliged to tell the truth and warn fellow students from falling prey to these predators.

Riya Roy: Very well maintained apartment, with friendly management. I have been living here for almost an year and I extended my stay because of this wonderful service.

High Life: Very nice apartments, great experience, very friendly management staff und special thanks for Mrs. Barbara 😊 Habtoosh!

Irini Triadafillidu: I read the reviews and I'm perplexed.... I'm satisfied with the apartment but after the renovations I'm very disappointed. I have a nice apartment but my terrace is in a very bad condition..

Carnaby Living House Accomodation.: what do users think?

Grzegorz Meller: It was very hard to get the deposit back, which is very high (more than 1000 euros). Firstly, when I moved out from the apartment, they told that they will transfer deposit back after 3 months, which already was weird. But after 3 months I did not get anything! I was writing them multiple emails, and they were answering only once in two weeks with evasive answers that they sent money or will send soon. After 6 months I decided to ask for help a lawyer and only after his intervention I got my deposit back. I would not recommend this situation to anyone, so it’s better not to rent the apartment there.

Zahra Syed: These guys are scammers basically- they charged me 100 euros out of my deposit just because the wall had normal wear and tear due to my laptop's screen brushing against the wall behind the desk and a drop of coffee on the wall (first two pictures). I also attach more photos as proof to show that I left my room spotlessly clean and still they found a reason to charge me 100 euros!!! They are a rip off, never trust a company that does not have a physical office because this way they deflect responsibility and know the poor student can not bother them by coming to their office everyday to ask for the deposit back. They are very rude and greedy people, making money off of students like this. Beware!!!

Klodiana Gurra: the worst service ever, they’re not understandable at all and they don’t give back your deposit, also the don’t text you back in time. never going back

Blubber Diblubb: Don’t. Just don’t.You‘ll regret it.

Steffi Becker: Lived there for a total of 18 months. I can confirm the negative reviews. There was no hot water three times, including a heating failure in the winter quarter, written messages from the property management sometimes only came a week later. Until April 20 you could only be reached by phone Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and meanwhile probably only by email. That doesn't work at all, because problems such as heating or hot water failure do not comply with the opening hours of the property management. When we moved in, the floor, especially in the kitchen, was completely black with street shoes because the previous tenant had probably never wiped the floor. The toilet seat was broken on one side and a blind. Should be repaired in a timely manner and the floor should be properly cleaned by the cleaner. Nobody did it in 12 months 🤷🏼‍♀️. The apartments themselves weren't bad, underfloor heating and large windows, tiny bathroom and no windows. You should be guided by the floor plan of the house on the website. There is a 2-bed apartment on each floor with a window in the kitchen (always apartment 5 on each floor, except the ground floor, i.e. 1.5.1 and 1.5.2 or 2.5.1 and 2.5.2, since you are dealing with one room in the apartment advertised), all the others have the kitchen on the inside, which is what we had at the beginning. I wouldn't recommend it at all, because in summer or as soon as it's a bit warmer, there's always mega heat in the kitchen and the exhaust air system leaves a lot to be desired, and it's just depressing to sit at the dining table in the dark. After that we lived in an apartment with a window in the kitchen and facing the courtyard at the back, quieter than facing the street in front, which is very busy and a tram rushes past every few minutes until 1 a.m. In the summer, however, there is often a party in the inner courtyard, which is very noisy, but the windows are well insulated against noise and heat. The rent is high, but in principle the shared rooms in the area cost about the same. The main reason I would never live there again is the people who live there. We are over 30 and not students and probably. therefore the wrong clientele, but you can also expect a bit of consideration and cleanliness from students in their early 20s (certainly not all of them). It was always dirty in front of the door, there was suddenly an old sofa in front of the house or shopping carts, sometimes a burned one (see photos) and the household waste was thrown into the small garbage can in front of the house out of laziness to walk 20 meters further to the garbage room and if nothing more fit in there thrown next to it. Don't be surprised that there are rats running around everywhere and it stinks. When people made it to the garbage room, they weren't able to throw their garbage neatly separated into a container either. Paper full 2 days after emptying, because huge packaging is simply thrown in without making it small. Rubbish would also just be put in front of the bins, it was just disgusting. Bulky waste was also illegally disposed of there. Also in the house in the corridors and in the elevator there was always rubbish somewhere (for example pillows or beer bottles) and in the elevator something new was smeared on the walls every week. People smoked weed all the time in the inner courtyard and you can smell it when the windows are open. If you are really considering staying there, you should also be aware that you are only renting a room. The residents of the flat shares there usually change every 6 months and you cannot choose the residents. As already written, you can just get filthy lazy bastards 🤷🏼‍♀️. As a tip, rent a flat share with friends/acquaintances. Conclusion: - Apartment with window in the kitchen ok - Dirty and inconsiderate tenants - Poor service - no recommendation from me

Michael Schreiber: The service of the property management after the change of ownership is very bad. Messages will only be replied to if it suits you. In addition, there is no telephone number to contact in case of problems, let alone a contact person on site. For this high price an absolute cheek. Another point is the rather bad location and the small rooms. There has been no hot water in the house for a week. I advise everyone not to rent a room here. Edit: There is no response to inquiries regarding a rent reduction, which the tenants are legally entitled to, for the failure of heating and hot water for 8 days. In addition, there is now a rent increase of around 5% for tenants who move in from April 2020. Furthermore, it must be noted that the drafting of the contract is very unfavorable for tenants and that no new tenant may be provided if the tenant moves out earlier. This means that moving out is only possible at the beginning/end of the semester. From the landlord's business point of view, this is very wise, since contract law in Germany is regulated dispositively and the notice periods from the German Civil Code are circumvented. However, since the majority of tenants are students, such a contract design and behavior for the required price (with the old landlords an earlier termination in connection with the position of a new tenant was possible) is morally highly questionable and, in my opinion, unfair.

Emma: Don't rent here! Would really advise against a room there. Was a temporary solution for me, which I very much regret. Very overpriced small rooms, and a small kitchen/tiny bathroom that was never cleaned by the 4 other roommates. As with many things, the property management does not feel responsible for this. GEZ not included, despite the horrendous prices. I didn't get into the room I originally chose, top floor, courtyard view, no prior viewing was possible. Property management does not have a phone number to reach them. Then came into one of the smallest rooms. On the ground floor. street view. My room (always had to have the blind down (there are no blinds)), as well as the rest of the common rooms were very dark. This whole environment has done tremendous damage to my mental state. I moved out early, was not allowed to find a new tenant/sublet because of the absolutely stupid contract, had already given up the apartment and had to continue paying rent. I still haven't seen my deposit. I also remember the escapades with the water well, others have already done that well here. This is pure profiteering through and through, poor students, especially international ones, are exploited. The pictures may promise bright, beautiful rooms, but you won't get that.

Antonia S: I moved to Berlin in September and thought, come as a temporary solution, that's okay. And now I regret every day that I moved in here. 1.) I pay 493 € rent for 10.5 m2, about 1 hour by train from the center. 493 € for 10.5m2 on the outskirts of Berlin ?? For the same price I would get 15m2 20 minutes from the center !! This price is a cheek, which I've only become aware of since I've been living here. 2.) The quality of the equipment is cheap, the bathroom has neither ventilation nor windows (attention, risk of mold), the kitchen only has poorly functioning ventilation. 3.) The unfriendliness of the property management: Inquiries were hardly or only very unfriendly. DER HAMMER: We have had no hot water for a week now. No information from the property management, no repairs, no reaction to damage reports! I ask everyone not to let themselves be withdrawn from this club and rather to look for something else. I regretted living here from day one; for the price you will definitely find MUCH better deals in Berlin !!! +++ I moved to Berlin in September and thought, come on, as a temporary solution that's okay. HON - Walter May House: what do users think?

Pichayut Rerkshanandana: Was a good experiences time to be there almost 3 years.. The officer very helpful and easy to reach.. There have a 24x7 services point stand by ready for any problem solving.. The location was perfect in the middle of Berlin with just a few walks to U bahn and S bahn station.. So just feels free to contact them for availability. I really recommend 👍

Eldhose Shaji: Good for students, cheaper than other HON accommodations. But it's not cheap as such than STW. The Hausmeister is too unfriendly. Lift doesn't work most of the times, so be ready to climb upto 6 floors at certain times, the only option is to choose your accommodation at lower floors if available. Make sure you are cautious enough to not have any issues at your room because if by any chance there is any and you complain, they will take ages to solve or even respond. The best search for me while staying there was searching for coins for laundry and many times the machine takes coin but doesn't start, so always have additional coins to wash. Also, doors for the building you will mostly find open, take care of your own safety! Don't be surprised of losing your cycle as that's very common in Walter May House. I lost Mine from inside the garage when my cycle was properly locked. They don't even entertain complaints about missing cycles.

Nikhil Kashyap: An awful place for students. The rooms are dull and every other equipment in the "furnished" apartment are very old. The Hausmeister is rather unfriendly. They'd exploit the fact that there is a student housing crisis in Berlin. The trash is not collected properly and one should make a small travel to dispose the glass waste. Ridiculously overpriced for the service and condition of the apartment.

Mary Lane: Ridiculously small Room where you share a kitchen with 14+ people! Internet is virtually non-existent. I hope the management realizes that this is a student apartment where they highly rely on a fast internet connection to function as a student. EXTREMELY overpriced for such a small room and a complete exploitation of foreign students who have little options during their initial months in Berlin. Placed right near a noisy train station. Noisy fridge placed right inside the small room, room gets very hot in the summer. Not a great functioning fridge either! Cooling is way above the recommended 5 degree Celsius. Complete exploitation!

Antoine Royer: Overall a nice place to live as a student when you haven’t find the public student housing. Public transport is convenient, just several steps from the metro station. The only thing is that the kitchen might be crowded sometimes. Nice place!

Harishchandra Sagarie: Good locality, S bahn , U bahn close by. Edeka Supermarkt is just 10 min away. Wi fi connection is poor, so add up the cost for purchasing wi fi privately. Bathroom is too congested to take shower. Washing clothes in washing machine will cost 2 euro per wash. But nice to have a refrigerator, cupboard, shelf and wash basin in a room.

Anna Kazakova: Just a place to live close to Ring Sbahn and subway station. Very dirty kitchen and toilets as you have to share it with lots of people who obviously don’t care about anything. Bad internet, extra costs for washing machine. If you have a sunny side - don’t take the sunny side.

Pushkin Gautam: Super shitty management at Walter May House, HON charges shit-loads of money for an old dungeon here. You cannot visit the place before you already have signed the contract and paid them. The fittings in the washroom especially are ancient and your request to upgrade them will always go unheard.

himani jain: Next best option for students finding a student dorm if not able yo get a place in studentenwerk dorms. Its pricey but better than taking a place in private market for students.

Dinesh Kene: Good alternative if you don't have yet studentenwerk in Berlin. Single room occupancies have common kitchen and washrooms.

The Urban Club - Berlin-Reinickendorf: what do users think?

Marcel Franke: Great living style and affordable! Features * In house GYM * Wash and dryer (rentable) * Free internet (just works fine) * Worker space * Rentable community kitchen * Community space * Outdoor garden * Single looft for one person, not more and not less. * Fast and good customer support

Elli: living together with your friends in a modern dorm is the best!! It’s also nice located. Also, I love the workers, everyone is so nice. This place became my second home:))

Paola Saa: Nice place with supermarkets and pharmacies nearby, it’s location is not too central but the ubahn station is 5 min away in walking distance so it’s well connected. Common areas of the building such as the laundry room are not to clean.

S L: They never answer at all. Plus, my application got denied and I was blocked from applying again without any reason. (Don't know if they are racist or something)

Waseem D. Haji: A wonderful place to stay. Especially for young individuals. The Urban Club rocks!

Gordon H: Far location, but very new and complete facilities.

Sanjeev Singh: Good

user: you got to write a mail to use the oven

Andre Petroll: Very nice apartments close to the city, many public areas and a great team on site.

Michael Perkuhn: Some people are accommodated there who make a lot of noise at night, according to the registered letter, the man thinks they don't all have Savoy anymore...really not nice if you live opposite here...really schitt.

EBA51 - Studentendorf Berlin: what do users think?

Thorsten: Due to the fact that EBA is housed by students it makes it a great place to live and have a very social life. Students swing by each other, eat together, etc. During the weekends there is always music and party, so be prepared. Besides, the rooms are already furnished with the basic stuff. However, the furniture is of poor quality and also EBA's service isn't that great. From 1 january 2017 there's a new owner, so hopefully some facilities will be improved. Although for students it is a great place to live and meet people from all around the world!

Gino Raidy: Great place to live, close to the bus stop and S-bahn stations. Lots of great students from across the world, so you can make a lot of friends over a beer or BBQ, or return to your private apartment in a one. if the awesomely furnished and fitted containers

Richu Royce: Best place to live and enjoy the Berliner life as a student!

subiiaaco: The accomodation is not even close to representing what was initially promised. My move in date was delayed by 6 months without the owners giving me any notice and doing this one month at a time. At the time of writing this review, I have been living at EBA51 for 10 months and it is still a construction site with active work staff. We were offered 2 months of rent deduction (30 euros off) although construction has been non stop. Most of the people who move here are not from Berlin and do not have the opportunity to view the area before they move which was also situation I was in. If I would have had the opportunity to view EBA51 beforehand I definitely would not have moved in considering all that was advertised and clearly unfinished state of the project. Because finding accommodation in Berlin can take months, upon finally viewing EBA51 I was extremely frustrated and shocked to see just how different the reality of the project was compared to how the owners had portrayed it. However, at this point I had no choice and had to move although as previously mention, there is no way I would have signed a contact to this place if I wasn't very desperate. The previous owners were bought out by HOWOGE simply because they ran out of liquidity and could not fund the project any further. They were unexperienced and vastly understated the costs and timeline in order to attract investors. Because of their miscalculations, tenants have been living on a construction site for months, many even longer than year.

Francisca Go: Best crowd / location ♥️

Elisa Karberg: I don't know it well enough, but it makes a nice impression.

Huberto alois: Plant has construction site character - standstill, unfinished !! no feel-good atmosphere, Outside a gravel wasteland In front of a sample container is an unkempt green area with a trend towards landfill

555 Nase: An eyesore near my apartment. The area could also have been greened and no, I'm not a fan of green. It's a nightmare for students to live there. You could have rebuilt there, for example, the Rewe that burned down next to the tracks.

Kate Blossom: As a first impression, if you come as a student from the outside, it is certainly quite practical. Unfortunately, the first positive impression was clouded by regularly deafening, triggered by simple cooking fire alarms, which also feels the neighborhood as annoying. The initial friendliness of the staff left to be desired towards the end, it was partly not available for lack of contact information. Our excerpt was ultimately in the mouse problem behind the "walls".

Toni Sprang: I would also give 0 stars if I could - only problems with those - the furniture is junk - everything is poorly finished somewhere. The employees themselves don't know what phase actually is and they're just keen on the money, they don't care about the people. The rent is also way too high!! I'm just disappointed.

Response: Thank you Mara, it was nice to give such a nice review, I hope to be able to host you again soon in our house, all the best for your further studies! The owner

Gaia Brandi: My daughter stayed at this property during her study trip to Berlin, she had a great time, welcoming furnishings and great cleanliness, convenient location to move around and close to all services. To recommend😉

Response: Thank you so much for your words Mr. Galatola! See you next time! thanks again 🤗

Costanza Pulitani: Great location, well connected with public transport (S-Bahn and several bus lines right in front of the door). Shops (supermarket, pharmacy, stationery, bank, fitness studio, also nice snack bars and restaurants) can be easily reached on foot. Ringbahnstr. Is rather a quiet street, good for living. Street noise of the Kaotian Kudamm cannot be heard. The apartment is a great old building, elegant, with wooden parquet, box windows (as is typical for old buildings) and every room in the apartment has stucco on the ceiling! Unfortunately, I had to move out of Berlin for work reasons, otherwise I would have liked to continue living in the shared flat ;)
Response: Hello dear Konstanze! Thank you for your nice description and nice to hear that you liked it. I hope to have you here again soon. All the best in your new city LG Charlotte

Bernhard Lippe: Berlin is a "difficult place". Our young people are safe and in good hands there. We recommend.
Response: Thank you for your kind words Bernhard and see you next time !!!

Bruno Sorrentino: Excellent services and great courtesy. The central location makes the difference. An experience to remember and if possible to repeat.
Response: Thank you very much Bruno for your good review and see you next time !!

Sonia Cianca: The stay was great at Charlotte- Studentenvermietungen.de and my daughter will 100% come back. All the best Charlotte and thank you!

Neon Wood / Studenten Apartments Berlin Mitte-Wedding: what do users think?

Taimur Wardani: Great student dorm. The rooms are really well built to allow a functional life in a small space. Everything is durable and bed is comfortable. Location top. The staff, especially Dzema, were all excellent and always there for you for anything you need. Would recommend 10/10.
Response: Dear Taimur, Thanks for your 5 stars! We're glad to read that you will keep good memories of your stay at Neon Wood :) Our apartments were designed attending to our tenants' needs, hence the stylish designs and functional spaces that allow both easy living and self-expression. As we understand it can be hard to settle down in a new place, our friendly teams are always available to assist you with any inquieries you may have. We thank you once more for the great review and hope to see you around soon! Have a nice day! All the best, Your Neon Wood Team :)

Anne-Laure Tettoni: I had a really good experience at this student accommodation. The room is spacious with a lot of storage room. The building is very well located and connected to the city. There is a place to put your bike and a great study room. I recommend it :)
Response: Dear Anne-Laure, Thanks for your 5-star review! It seems you mentioned all the points that make our accommodation the best choice in Berlin ;) We're glad to reas that you've enjoyed your stay and look forward to having you with us again! Have a nice day! All the best, Your Neon Wood Team :)

Lea Cohen: I had a great stay at neon wood for a year, the location makes it really easy to travel all over Berlin, and the rooms are very comfortable. The staff is always here to help in case we have a problem with anything. I would recommend this place for students :)
Response: Dear Lea, Thank you for leaving such a great review! It's great to see that we have fulfilled your expectations with our outstanding offer. As we strive for perfection, we pay close attention to every aspect of student life. Therefore, our accommodations are purposely located in key spots of Berlin, include everything for an easy living and take pride in serving you with a cool and ever-growing community. We're looking forward to seeing you around again and wish you all the best! 😊 Best regards, Your Neon Wood Team

Andrea Vivaldi: I’ve been here from April to July 2021 and had a really good time under every aspect. I decided to go for a “Classic” Apartment which was small but functional and easy to clean and keep tidy. All the furnitures were solid and durable, the bed comfortable and the full wall window made the difference in my opinion, since the room was always bright and also felt more spacious. I appreciated the industrial style of the whole apartment too. Unfortunately i could use the common spaces just for a few weeks due to corona, the study rooms were quiet and confortable with a nice atmosphere, the lobby and courtyards great for meeting people. Shoutout to the neonwood staff, which was really friendly and always ready to help, just great people! FINALLY, i wanted to spend a few words on some bad reviews about deposit, price etc. which concerned me too before signing the contract. Apartment prices in Berlin are high, there is no doubt about it, even if you go for a tiny room in a WG you will end up spending around 4-500€. The added value of having a personal bathroom, personal kitchen, the possibility to stay in your own space or hang out with many different people in the common spaces when you want to, 7/7 assistance/services and a really top location (Bernauer Strasse is only 10 mins from Alexanderplatz and a gorgeous spot itself) is worth way more of those extra 200€. Regarding the deposit, it was given back to me about two weeks after moving out, i even got extra money since i used less water and electricity. I just made a normal use of those utilities, neither wasting nor getting mad about sparing. So, according to my experience in neonwood i can say that you shouldn’t worry about losing money from your deposit for no reason or other things, just behave in a serious way and you’ll have a great time here! I fully recommend this Student Housing.
Response: Dear Andrea, Thank you for your excellent feedback! It’s great to hear that we succeeded in making you feel comfortable and relaxed during your stay at Neon Wood. We are glad we were able to deliver an experience to remember, from the warm and personable service to the cozy and valuable accommodation. Your attentive recognition for our team is greatly appreciated and motivates us to keep creating distinct and thrilling experience for all of our tenants. Your positive experience with the deposit refund and the rectification of our rental price is shared by many of our tenants. Nevertheless, to avoid any misunderstandings concerning the deposit/utility costs that led to negative reviews you mentioned, our rental model was changed to all-inclusive rent starting next semester. Once again we thank you for your kind words and look forward to seeing you again and creating memorable experience on your future stays at Neon Wood. All the best, Your Neon Wood team 😊

Courtney Boulé: Great location, laundry room is nice but I wish it was open 24h. A bit loud but nice area. Rooms are small but it is enough for one person. I had a room with a patio and the extra space is worth it. Expensive for Berlin but the facilities are nice. The internet is good.
Response: Dear Courtney, Thanks for your review. We’re sad to see that we haven’t fulfilled your expectations, unlike with most our tenants. We understand there are reasons behind every star and would like to learn more about your experience, so that we can work on your case and hopefully regain your trust. Please don’t hesitate to contact our Community Team at community.berlin@neonwood.com, we will be glad to hear from you! Have a nice day! All the best, Your Neon Wood Team

Ka-Wai CHEUNG: Only one star for the location and the nice reception person. 4 deducted for their poor organisation. They will not notify you when they cannot make SEPA direct debit. Instead, they will wait for 1.5 months and then sell your private information to some collection parties directly. And one year ago when I first started to live in here, they charged me double the price because they mixed me up with someone who has a same name. That one I didn't wait for 1.5 months and ask for a credit collection agency, huh. Just idiotic and full of chaos.
Response: Dear Ka-Wai, Thanks for taking time to share your experience with us. We regret to read about your situation, as it does not correspond to our goal of providing the most pleasant stay and easy lifestyle to our valuable tenants. After noting this shortcoming, our Accounting team swiftly took care of your case and a rectification was successfully done. It seems that, unfortunately, there was a technical error in our software while processing the payment method of your new contract. As a delay was detected, an automatic reminder was sent to you and, subsequently, an intervention from our rent collector took place -needless to say, in accordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We apologize once again for the inconveniences caused and we ensure that your feedback will be discussed internally for further optimization of our processes. Should you wish further clarification, please don’t hesitate to contact us any time at community.berlin@neonwood.com. We will be happy to assist you and hopefully restore your trust in Neon Wood. Have a nice day! All the best, Your Neon Wood Team

Jonathan Grennäs: Hello everyone who is thinking of moving into Neonwood; As a former student at Technische Universität, I have had nothing but positive experiences studying and living at Neonwood. In particular, the landlord and its staff are very flexible and agile. I would like to give a special thanks to Reservation Agent Juliane Piecha who helped me to shorten my contract due to continuing my studies elsewhere (in Sweden). Here are some positive things that should be mentioned: + Access to public spaces: study areas, social rooms, gym (Frankfurter Tor) and activities. + Close to the Penny-market for groceries and other daily goods + Quiet in the evenings most of the time. Otherwise the staff is ready to help keep the noise level down. + Nice fresh private kitchen and bathroom + Close to U-bahn and Tram with connections to places like Alexanderplatz. + Helpful staff for e.g. questions or printing of school related material + Possibility to order food from Bolt, Uber Eats directly to your door. + Possibility of "Anmeldung". You get help directly on the spot.
Response: Dear Jonathan, Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We're delighted to read such a detailed list of positive reasons to live at Neon Wood, as we worked hard to achieve the highest quality in our offer. It's been a pleasure to have you with us and we hope to see you around again! Have a nice day and all the best in your future endeavors! :) Best regards, Your Neon Wood Team :)

Zeynep Asel ÖZGÜLDEZ: I stayed at Tannhaus for 6 months. It was very nice&easy. As I did not damage anything, I also got my deposit fully back with no problem!
Response: Dear Zeynep, Thanks for your amazing review! As a sister brand of Neon Wood, our Tannhaus accommodation provides the perfect environment for young professionals as yourself to develop a successful career and an enriching private life at the same time. We take pride in our common areas and fully furnished apartments, designed with maximum care and paying close attention to functionality -mandatory features of the Berliner lifestyle. Our check-in and check-out procedures have been perfected through the years, and it is a pleasure for us to read praise on this from happy tenants as yourself. We thank you once more for your review and wish you all the best in your future endeavors! All the best, Your Neon Wood Team :)

AuxiliumVeritas: Secure, warm in winter and affords many services and amenities. I recommend it for students who need an apartment. However, the apartments are SMALL and cramped for the price. I suppose it balances out considering the services, but it won’t suite everyone. The Neon Wood card that you open doors with (yes, your apartment is accessed by card, like a hotel room) also is used for such services as laundry, printing (papers) and for purchasing from the vending machine(s). Edit: I love the view of the sunset here.
