M R: To the Basic Intensive Course/Basic Course: I'm super happy with the school. Equipment, rooms and teachers are really great. If you are looking for a well-founded introduction to tattooing, you have come to the right place. Those who are willing to learn and invest time will be welcomed here with open arms and, above all, always with open ears. The subject matter was well structured and to the point for the short time of the course. Clear recommendation from me!

Labzwei Berlin: I took an intensive course at the school and my experience was just amazing! All the teachers are super professional: Ricardo is a tattoo professional and teaches with commitment, passion and seriousness. Caroline and Annabel (intro art teachers) are phenomenal...in a short space of time they managed to convey a very wide and detailed range of input...always with love and respect for the different experiences of each participant. Chris (health and hygiene teacher) is just fantastic: precise, professional and timely in his explanations. Jenny (the school's fac totum) is an incredible person and a reference point for everyone at the school: if you need any information, materials or advice about the different possibilities the school offers, she is there for you. Always! I was also fortunate to meet wonderful "travel companions" (my classmates)... all different, with different backgrounds, different artistic experiences, different ages and inclinations... I'm just blown away by this experience! I would NOT recommend it to anyone, but to EVERYONE who has the desire, desire, talent and dedication to embark on a (serious) journey into the world of tattooing!

Hanis Kottwitz: Anyone who has tried it themselves will know that getting into the tattoo world is very difficult. I saw this school as an opportunity to get some experience. You actually have to be very behind to keep up the eight months. There is hardly any private life. But what are eight months ...;) The teachers accompanied me great through the time. The skills I gained through this finally enabled me to do an internship with supervision of permanent employment. You just have to want it. ;)

Christina Brandl: When the school started and the first class started its "tattoo training" there, I took the "basic course in drawing". The course was well structured, it was more about drawing theory and practice than tattooing. The lecturers were artistically excellent, only the headmaster was very suspicious and the school was therefore not in a very serious light for me, which is why I decided against the tattoo training. Some of my fellow students from the basic course went into tattoo training and I continued to have contact with them. Now I know with certainty that this training is not recommended. The headmaster has little idea of ​​what he is teaching there, certificates are issued far too late, pupils who quit cannot get their money back. There are things the students are required to do, such as tattooing themselves without paint, although that was not mentioned before, if you refuse to do so, you fail the exam, and and and ... Unfortunately, it is far too easy to fall for it, me strongly advise everyone against it!

Elisabeth Nikol Rittmann (Elisabeth): Unfortunately not recommended. In the beginning everything was great and beautiful. The drawing course was well structured and the lecturer Carola was very nice and helpful. She was also well educated and was able to answer questions without any problems. She dealt with the individual people and problems. Unfortunately, the course for tattooing is the opposite. Some lecturers speak horrible German and didn't even know anything about their own area - one person even told us that she didn't feel like preparing and then quickly googled something on the spot and read it out. There were also teachers who were very arrogant, not only towards me but also offending the other participants. Almost every practical lesson was missing something, such as kitchen rolls for cleaning (we should get toilet paper from the communal toilet), soap, or simply gloves. How to teach hygiene if you don't have the necessary materials? And for that you have to pay 4000 €. A teacher also simply ignored some students. I was also yelled at and discriminated against by a lecturer in front of the whole group because I didn't manage to finish my homework in addition to school and 2 jobs. I complained to the manager - unfortunately without result. We also had an extra first aid course on one day. The lecturer himself was well educated and friendly, but this extra day took place in a pub in Neukölln and not a word was said about first aid. I find this behavior unprofessional. After I canceled I never got a reply. The school still owes me and other participants a lot of money (about 800€/person). A lawsuit has already won in court, but the school has still not paid the money. After several messages and letters I got no answer. Nobody is interested in the reasons why 70% of the participants quit. :( *** Nice answer, but unfortunately all lies. I passed all the exams I took and took a very active part in the lessons myself. Since I brought a lot of previous knowledge with me, I was almost always able to answer the teachers' questions. I was often only allowed to report after the others, so that the others had an opportunity first. I don't think it's fair and professional to write something like that if it's not true. I also think it's a shame that I never got an answer, and then suddenly, after a whole year, such an unprofessional answer comes up on Google. But nothing more. Maybe I should contact a lawyer like the others. I really hope the school improves in quality though, as I personally find the idea of ​​tattooing training very useful. ... Hanna: My personal opinion: Unfortunately not recommendable because of dubious. The very first semester has not yet received a certificate! I canceled my apprenticeship contract and, despite a solicitor's request, I couldn't get back the rest of my money, which in my eyes is theft because my lawyer has proven me right. The only positive thing is the theoretical knowledge, which unfortunately is mostly not used by the teacher himself, of which you can convince yourself after a little investigative work, and the practical part can therefore easily be carried out at home using the Internet. The entire lesson was poorly organized and there is no individual approach. Everything seems arbitrary and unprofessional. Please transfer my money back to me at last :)

Bartek S: It took more than 8 months after the final exam for the certificate to arrive. All very unprofessional. For example, that you have to tattoo yourself, the students are only told at some point in the course of their training, without details. Then it turns out that you have to tattoo yourself without color, with distilled water, which in most cases, even if done correctly, still leaves scars. I definitely didn't do it too deep, you can't feel it but you can still see it, and that after more than a year. Now I have a clue and I know what I'm talking about. It might be good for some to know before starting and paying for the training. If you don't do that, you won't get a certificate, failed. So if you want to survive, scars for free. Termination is accepted at whim. A student handed in the notice at the end of the month, the principal read it and said it was correct, all good. Waited a few days until the next month starts and then it says the termination was not written correctly, not officially enough, therefore also void and she also has to pay for this month that has started, while at the same time the termination is accepted ORALLY by another student! She still hasn't gotten her money back for the remaining months, just like the others who quit, so it's not an isolated case. In the lessons, the material was often missing, e.g. Gloves, when Zewa was gone you had to get toilet paper from the toilet, it was funny. Now that I work in a professional tattoo studio, I realize that unfortunately the knowledge of the principal is quite limited. When it comes to more complex things, he is overwhelmed. The tips I got from the tattoo artists got me further within a week than I had all the time at school. In the end it just wasn't worth the money. If you want to do something other than old school tattoos or linework, you can't be helped effectively, I'm only realizing that now. The NECESSARY knowledge was not available. The few positive things that you can also learn at home on the Internet, such as. the machine settings (youtube) are simply not worth mentioning with this unprofessionalism, some things don't work at all.

Got mine done by Nick, and the tattoo turned out amazing, and I’d definitely get another one done by him if I were to visit Berlin (which I probably will)! Sanskar Chitnis: The people here are so lovely! I had talked to people from multiple tattoo shops and they were all very matter-of-fact and monotone and generally did not sound very interested in providing their services. However, at Bläckfisk they were so interested to hear my ideas and so friendly and enthusiastic to meet me that I had a feeling I would like it here from the moment I spoke on the phone. The place is extremely clean, the owner is hilarious and affable and the artists are just as talented and cordial. I trust the piercer and don’t make the sizing decisions on my own, which is a huge mistake as every time I come out with a smaller barbel than it should’ve been. I have told them on the spot that I am concerned with the jewelry being small, to which they reply “you’ll get used to it, or just come back again.” I will not come back again!!!!!! I have had to go under a local anesthesia on my lip because they’ve put a piercing so small that it sunk into it. Robin Molteno: both myself and a friend got pierced here. if the interactions and experience you have while getting pierced matter, go somewhere else. if you only care about technical proficiency, the place is great. we interacted with 3 staff; 1 was nice. front desk was quite curt/dismissive/rude. the lady that first did our piercings and took our calls was aggressive, and cold in-studio. a place like this should really be more aware of the significance of what they do, for those that support them. even a fake smile would meet that need.

Bella Pea: I visited AKA as my piercing got infected. The women who consulted me was very aggressive in her communication and made me feel very uncomfortable. She swapped my 2mm bar for a 1.6mm as they didn't have 2mm in stock. She said it would be fine, but now I know that it will take months until I can go back to a 2mm and the stretching will cause more irritation and will be painful. Very unhappy with this service. Left the shop almost in tears.

Malvika Saini (ITM BG 12-14): Got my nose pierced by David here. Its a very clean place. David did a great job. Used a fresh needle to pierce. Normally it takes 2 weeks atleast for the pain to subside (from my other piercing experiences) but it's just 5 days and i have no pain at all also no swelling... The guy knew what hes doing... It was a perfect pierce for me.... Highly recommend it ... Super happy i chose them!!! 👍👍

Loved the design itself and Carlo is the quickest artist I have been to which is handy if you're paying by the hour! The studio was really nice and the other artist were friendly and conversational. English speakers won't have a problem either.

She is very careful and considerate while piercing, puts a lot of emphasis on aftercare and informs you about everything you need to know regarding your new piercing. I have had many piercings already, but would recommend her as well for anybody who's first time it is, she really does an amazing job. Last but not least: the equipment and all is clean as to be expected 😊

Jear Perry: I got my nose piercing here about a month ago, which went great and I went back today for a checkup because it looked infected to me. I’ve been told that the rod was too short (which they had chose in first place) and that they have to put a long one in. I assumed that because they’ve done the mistake I wouldn’t have to pay for anything but I got charged nearly as much as a new piercing. The reason for that - she told me - 'the shop owner has changed so therefor it’s not the same store anymore'. What does that mean for the future? Every time I go for a checkup I’d have to pay because the owner changes?! This wasn’t my first visit but certainly my last.

We had a doubt about a very small tattoo costing 170€ (probably because we are tourists) and she said if you can’t afford it maybe you shouldn’t be getting it. End of the day it’s a good piece of work so I’m happy. Just avoid the redemptionest
