Buddhistisches Zentrum Berlin: what do users think?

Yaroslav Hordiyevych: Good place to learn Buddhist meditation!

Vishnu Varatharajan: I am visiting this place almost daily for meditation. The serene ambience and friendly people make this a very unique spiritual experience amidst a busy city life. There is also a Backhaus where you can drink and eat food with optional donation. Best place to meet new people and have a frenzy-less after-work activity. I would highly recommend this place to the people living in Berlin. You don't have to be a religious Buddhist to practice it (I'm not). The meditation is for about half an hour, and an instructor will read a passage in a very soothing voice with occasional vibrative sounds (English on Thursdays). We then read a long Tibetian poem together, which evokes a sense of trance and a calm ambiance. There is a large handheld statue of a Begtse inside the meditation hall. The statue contains insane amount of details, with contrasting colours, pompous exhibition, dynamic movements, complex shapes and primal expressions. There is a lot of minute attentions to detail and individual points of interest, but each and everything only adds up to a complete, menacing, thematic image of the Mongol-Tibetan God of war. It seems to me that if a human being was to imagine the ultimate primal expression of manifestative violence, this image is the maximum s/he could come up with. Each and every space of it screams of violence, with flames all around Begtse. Even Begtse's eyebrows and facial hair are covered in flames. Its third eye reminds me of Shiva, again, the symbol of manifestation (I am not posting it's picture, as I have not taken a picture of it. I feel it diminishes it's value. If I want to see it, I better go to the place). I was so engulfed that I spent a solid 20 minutes to relish each and every detail of it. Some people joined with me after some time, and we shared our impressions on the statue. I met a Greek DJ there. Currently living in Berlin, he mixes music as a side profession under the name of LeTrip. We visited the bar of the Zentrum where we were offered chips and fruits. He showed his SoundCloud profile and I showed him mine. We then had a casual and superficial cultural exchange on Karma and Dharma. I confessed to him that the only modern artistic impression that I have on Greece is through a film called Attenberg. To my misfortune, he hadn't heard of it. I then had a brief talk with an Italian, of our life so far, about my project, her work, and some cultural exchange on Italy. This place is my haven for a good and healthy social life.

Jess Sullenberger: Visited from a sister Sangha, disappointing no one wanted to converse before or after the meditation.

Rumen Yordanov: Best place to be , helpful and kind people

Ancient Finn: Best for your own mind

Yaroslav Kazakov: Best place in city for meet you mind

Rick Eisenmenger: Very friendly Community

Achim Hinzmann: My world since 1972. I've been a Buddhist ever since. Love you all. Thanks.

Christopher Curt Vogelsang: Interesting guided tour and insights into Buddhism and the place. Only to be recommended!

Alla Maistrenko: A beautiful huge center where you can not only meditate, but also live

Johannes Müller: What a lovely place. Nice people, good seminar

Dennis Shu: One of the best places for Buddhism and Meditation courses in Berlin! They have several different meditation styles covered like metta, vipassana. The while area is so inspiring, the people are very nice and everything is Dana based.

Jay Kaufmann: It's funny that you can rate a meditation center with stars. Should be hearts and there are a lot of them here. To know if it's for you you'll want to come and see (with an open heart) for yourself. ;-) The language of the teachings here is German. In either German or English, for some background on the lineage, check out the amazing life story and books of Ayya Khema, a Buddhist teacher born in Berlin (in a Jewish-German family) whose path then led around the world.

Andrea: Super

Duy Anh Nguyen (Parrotherbs): place of spiritual healing

Chris. Paehle: An oasis of calm in the middle of the high-rise settlements. Nice café, with nice tenants & very tasty, prepared food. Interior comfortably furnished. Large, bright, well-kept meditation (dream) rooms, where everyone is invited, d. to find inner self. dr Reuter offers meditation at specific times. The garden has a small heart-shaped pond where a couple of ducks have taken up residence. Peace, inner contemplation can be found there.

Ingrid P.: Wonderful place to relax, the garden heart shaped pond with water lilies.. Meditation are guided, good topics for mental, physiological e health. If you want to relax, you should also enjoy the café or go to the stupa in the inner courtyard.

Patrick Höhe: The furnishings are appropriate throughout and exude the desired charm. All amenities are available during meditation, such as cushions, benches, etc. The tranquility and peace one finds when visiting places like this is haunting, but not intrusive. Clear recommendation if you want to let your soul dangle in Berlin.

Charlotte Gruben: Buddhist center where lectures and guided meditations take place regularly. Somewhat hidden in a residential area not far from Alexanderplatz - is like an oasis of calm in the middle of the city. The rooms are very well equipped, participation in the events is on a donation basis.

Susanne: Nice ambience and the middle of the city. Nice to meditate. The small garden in the courtyard is very inviting. Overall nice to relax and unwind. The café right next door has great teas. Just go there and refuel.

Yana Penz: I was a guest here with my child Mon-Fri. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating, the room is well used with plenty of storage space and comfortable beds. I have never had such a well equipped kitchen on vacation. Everything you need is there and much more. Every contact, whether email or telephone, was always very friendly. The adjacent playground is also great. We would like to come again.

Daily Meditation Berlin: what do users think?

milosz danczak: I had a few attempts at meditation before, but only after the course with Eddie I could make it stick. Eddie is a kind and effective teacher; he cleared some misconceptions I had about meditation and helped me form a meditation habit that lasts. I highly recommend booking a course with him - it’s the best way to get into meditation that I know of!

Tobias Feltes: Eddie has the gift of bringing the depth of tradition and his understanding of it in a relatable, relevant and understandable way to our modern day life. The picture I took of him during our retreat in India in 2019, which were life changing 10 days. So grateful! xx

Alexis: When I first met Eddie a month ago, I sensed right away his authenticity, as a human being and teacher. By remaining consistent with his teaching and yet open to my experience, Eddie continues to confirm my initial impression. Through a combination of empathy and metaphor, Eddie has a knack for cutting through complication to reveal the underlying simplicity of method and message. What really makes the difference though is that Eddie combines his teaching expertise with an easygoing, gentle approach, as well as a genuine commitment of being there for you. If you need a little course correction after the class, Eddie is as open and available as he is during the lessons. Thanks to Eddie I have a daily meditation practice for the first time in ten years.

Pınar Özütemiz: I went daily meditation because I have major concentration problems, including difficulties staying focused, or maintaining attention, as a major issue faced every day. Thanks to Eddie's approach to have a daily meditation, I can focus and stay on task longer now. However, It is just one of the fact. In reality, I am truly grateful to Eddie because he gives me the key to open a locked door of meditation which is beyond well- being activity. It is indeed life long experience to find yourself inside of yourself. Something like a deeper current.

Betty Cem: Eddie 's meditation was just perfect for us. Extremely well structured and easy to follow. Eddie is a person of deep and profound knowledge which he perfectly passes on to his students. We are excited to go on with this journey and are totally thankful to Eddie's great teaching! Highly recommended!!

Emma Budiansky: When I first met Eddie a couple months ago, I was super stressed and going through a rough period, but the meditation practice he's shared with me has helped me a ton. I had tried getting into a regular meditation practice several times previously, but struggled to establish the habit and feel like I was "making the most" of it. With Eddie's guidance, I feel like I've gotten down the basics of how Vedic meditation works, and I am much more optimistic about maintaining my meditation habit moving forward. Eddie is funny, supportive, and great at explaining complex topics in approachable ways. And I am so glad that I now I have a meditation teacher for life! Eddie makes himself available through weekly group classes in Berlin (which can often be streamed online for non-local past students), which have become a lovely and grounding addition to my week, and he is always reachable to past students too. Before I took this course, I was choosing between investing in meditation vs. a therapist, and I definitely made the right choice. Automatic self-transcendence during meditation itself is incredible, as are all of the benefits I've already started seeing outside of meditation. I've gained an increased ability to handle difficult situations, started attracting better relationships/experiences into my life, and learned how to reframe personal expectations in a healthier way. People are even using words like "calm" and "positive" now to describe me now, which is far from how I felt before working with Eddie. If you're considering taking one of his classes, go for it :)

Regina Loft: A few months ago I had the luxury of learning with Eddie Vero. I came to him a bit frustrated after more than a decade and a half of inconsistent mindfulness meditation experience. My hopes were to learn the ins and outs of the style he teaches: Vedic Meditation. Most of all I yearned to create a daily, sustainable practice for real life, through all the journeys, hills and valleys life offers. Beginning with a touching ceremonial initiation and immediate meditating practice, Eddie then took his time over the next days to thoroughly and clearly teach me what I needed to solidify this new-to-me practice. His manner is centered, calm and light in the right places. He addressed my issues and questions with an open manner and mind, helped me feel comfortable. Knowing that that he is there for me - in person, through his enlightening podcasts, YouTube channel and Facebook Group - is of great comfort and support. As a person who now cannot imagine Vedic Meditation now not being a pillar in my life, I can highly recommend learning with Eddie.

daniel ahern: Such a fantastic experience with Eddy. He's a professional guide to build a rock solid foundation for meditation practice that supports everything else I do and am. So many good things say but to keep it brief, I most appreciated how Eddy describes the practical mechanics of meditation, the nuts & bolts of how it slowly trains the brain to be in the moment more often. Truly priceless!!!

Lou Gemunden: Eddie's course could not have come at a better time! I've been doing my own daily meditation practice for about 4 months now, but always felt that something was missing, or that it wasn't achieving exactly what I wanted it to--but then I took Eddie's course and everything changed. He is a wonderful instructor who knows just how to phrase things so that they make sense in a real, concrete, structural way. After 4 days with him I feel like the meditation I'm doing is completely different from everything I've done it the past, it's easy, it's fun, it's effortless, and it always makes my day better. I could not recommend this course enough! It has definitely changed my life for the better : )

Hendrik Schwarz: Eddie is a true teacher who radiates calmness. He taught my parents - who are 80+ years old - meditation. He was very clear, patient and understanding in his teachings, and what matters most he got my sceptic old folks hooked into meditation now!! If there is only one thing you can do this year, learn meditation and use it daily. Best. Treat. Ever.

MEDITATIONSZENTRUM-BERLIN: what do users think?

Dennis Shu: I was a bit disappointed with the beginner's meditation. The subject was explained in a relatively superficial manner and then the participants were relatively suddenly thrown into a 30 minute unguided meditation without the important explanation of how to stay focused.
Response: Dear Dennis, Thank you for your visit and the recession. The technology course lasts 5 dates and includes intensive self-study. We would like to point out on the website and by e-mail that we would like all participants to be willing to mediate for 30 minutes a day. The meditation can only be learned step by step, focusing is the focus for appointment no. 3, see script. All in all, it is a wonderful, if somewhat challenging, method for those who are seriously interested. You are always welcome to continue the course. Warm greetings to all meditators, Andreas from the meditation center

Whitney Attobrah: I discovered the center via USC : I was lucky to practice grounding breathwork and meditation in 4 agreements. There are daily silent meditation and programs that can be found on the website. The space is bright and spacious. I directly had a good feeling walking there. Thank you

Ganna Nestrerenko: Today I first time went to Dhyan Vimal Mediation Centre and loved it. The spaces is very welcoming and safe 💚Facilitator Nirvan thought me how to use breath techniques to increase level of awareness for mediation and how to prepare yourself for personal transformation. We went though three levels of breath technique: Master’s Breath, Nadi Sutti, Bogar's Breath. I’ll definitely come back and go on practicing. It was exactly what my practise needed to be complete, I’m doing ashtanga yoga and kundalini yoga, I was missing breath techniques for meditation. Thanks from my heart dear Nirvan 🙏 See you very soon 💚 Ganna

Dominique Jenkin: Booked through urban sports, couldn’t find the place! I walk around for 40 min, I asked at Humana and people at the street and nobody knew about it. They don’t even have a contact number to ask how to get there. Had to come back homeVery sad..
Response: Hi Dominique, sorry to hear about your experience. The USC event details writeup has the detailed directions to the door. The other attendees have not reported any issues with the directions so far. If the directions written were unclear please let us know and we will improve it further. We hope to see you in future in spite of todays difficulty.

Jonathan Rowbury: A wonderful oasis for learning about how you can transform your life for the enrichment of you and others. I haven’t been the same since I first came.

Grégory Pugliesi: Really beautiful and spiritual place

Vasylysa Shchogoleva: Very nice place to come and relax

Xavier Benony: Very Nice

Christopher Curt Vogelsang: Very nice guide, good introduction to Buddhism. Thanks very much!

Dirk Schmidt: I took part in a guided tour here, you should register for this in advance. Then you get introduced to the religion of Buddhism. I really enjoyed the tour and was able to learn a few things.

lieselote schmidt: Amazing! amazing schedule

Hannes Wiech: A great place for non-Buddhists too. The programs during the week are particularly recommended and can be easily integrated into everyday life as a habit. For more satisfaction and a friendlier way of dealing with others and yourself.

Winfried Schneider: A great place with very lovely people. Although there is still some work to be done here, the temple and its buildings exude an aura of peace and relaxation. We recommend. Check out the programs, it's worth it.

Kadampa Meditationszentrum Berlin: what do users think?

Heath Johensson: Modern meditation center. Modern approach integrated with one of oldest traditional of Buddhism. Very recommended for meditation course and others.

Sven Polleis: A wonderful place of peace, appreciation and togetherness. You can tell from the center teacher Gen Ananda and also Kelsang Gyudzhin and the other teachers that they really practice and live what they teach. Here Buddhist teachings are passed on in a clear and structured way, so that you can really do something with them, integrate them into your own life and thereby make your own life happier step by step. The accessibility is great! You practically only have to drop out of the U6 and you are already there. Nice that there is such a place in the middle of the city!

Plemmy Peculiar: Care should be taken in choosing the sangha and teachers, especially in the western world. The New Kadampa Tradition has been criticized for having sect-like structures. This can easily be googled. In Buddhism, too, there are unwholesome teachers, and abuse of power can quickly occur, especially when worshiping the Lama. Of course, the lama is an important part and he deserves respect, but when choosing a sangha, always remember the words of Buddha, who always urged his students to examine his teachings and not blindly accept them. If a teacher demands strict observance of his words and does not tolerate inquiries, this is against the Buddha's teaching.

Marcus Prade: This Buddhist meditation center is an oasis of peace in the heart of the capital. The hustle and bustle of everyday life takes place in front of the door of this center and you have to enter to experience the tranquility and inspiration of this place for yourself. That's not difficult at all, because in the small shop in the entrance area there is tea and coffee as well as a lot of exciting literature. However, you should definitely take a look at the meditation room. In addition to many interesting courses, which come from Buddhist wisdom but can be integrated directly into your own everyday life, you can also simply relax and find peace here. The local people are all very friendly, some are even ordained monks and nuns. You can feel that the people in the center live what is taught in the lectures and meditations. I highly recommend the place to anyone who is interested in meditation or even Buddhism. There is something for everyone in the range of courses.

Paddy F.: Attention: quad cards are only valid for 2 months! I was not told when buying in April, just small listed on the map. Who is already studying such a card? I did two meditations and spent a few weeks abroad. Now on Thursday I was told that the card had expired, the remaining two of the four pre-paid courses expire. So I could again pay 7 euros for the beginning of meditation in order to participate. The following discussion was unsuccessful over the total (pre-) paid 19 euros. Why is there no time span of 6-12 months as with most other courses in the world? When it comes to money, there does not seem to be any goodwill in this center. Thus, I was there for the last time.
Response: Hello Patrick, We are sorry that yesterday you could not bring your 4-card with us because we have not pointed out the validity of 3 months. Of course, you can redeem your 2 free credits during a meditation in the main center in Mitte or one of our branches in and around Berlin. We apologize for the inconvenience. many Greetings KMCB team

Johannes Armstrong: Such a friendly atmosphere that makes you feel at home straight away. A bookstore, small cafe & accessories for your own meditation included. The Buddha statues enchant you immediately. We recommend.

nina hecker: First of all, you wouldn't expect such a place when you turn into the backyard from the busy Mehringdamm. It is hard to believe that despite the noise, people and other features of a big city, this place of rest can be located there. When you find it, you immediately realize that this is no ordinary place. I've tried a lot, tried several different forms of meditation and chanting. But what I encountered in this place really touched me. In front of a beautiful altar, with elaborately decorated Buddha statues and special objects, raised on a pedestal, a young monk sat and told about the method with which one can completely calm one's mind. How - with a little practice - you can achieve permanent happiness, not just spontaneous, temporary happiness. Yes I would also like to. I can't put it into the few lines I have here, nor am I as practiced as this young man. But I'll keep at it, because who doesn't want to be happy all the time in this crazy, busy world we live in? Thank you for this experience.

Patricia Franke: A place of strength, love and trust. As soon as I enter the meditation center it is like coming home. thank you very much

Khristian Schlösser: Oasis of peace ...

Elli Pfund: An oasis for the spirit in the center of Berlin with regular lectures on the challenges of our time.
