Treetop Travel Journalism: what do users think?

Grace Henes: Will and I recently worked together on a large-scale travel project and it was such a pleasure working with him! He kept a positive attitude despite long hours and quick turnarounds, and was always quick to remedy problems as soon as they came up. I really valued the journalistic eye he brought to the team, and his willingness to search out places beyond Berlin and uncover something unique about them. Thanks again, Will!

Lauren Dempsey: I can’t speak highly enough of Treetop Travel Journalism! The writing project gives you the opportunity to explore your own creative ability, promoting independent thinking and also team work. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to gain journalistic experience or broaden their portfolio. I had never worked on magazine design prior to the project but learnt quickly from the great team and thoroughly enjoyed being able to work under guidance to improve this skill. Additionally the excursions organised made the experience so much more than any other typical ‚learning‘ course that I have ever done. From street art classes to holes, there is something for everyone and the relaxed atmosphere of the group made everything enjoyable. We couldn’t have been luckier with the team that we had, everyone was diligent, committed and open minded and I definitely made friends for life. A big thank you to everyone involved! Whether you want to see Berlin for the first time and document your experiences or are already familiar with the amazing city, I can’t recommend this project enough!

Bethan Reynolds: A wonderful experience to be a part of. A close knit team with a common interest in creativity; a nurturing environment to grow your ideas into reality. Highly recommend to anyone wishing to expand their creative portfolio and to make friends from across the globe. Will is a great guy with time for everyone. Treetop Travel Journalism provides an unforgettable experience for all who attend. Thanks Will!

Carol: Treetop travel journalism was an amazing experience! It gives you the opportunity to discover the city and present your ideas in creative ways. Will was incredible! First of all he creates a safe environment for creativity and expression. Any concept that one thinks about, he has a positive attitude and finds ways to accomplish it. (Very helpful for introverts and people who are scared to share their ideas) Also it was a pleasure to work with such a nice team. The magazine’s diversity came from the fact that, everyone could explore aspects of the city that they were fascinated about. Thus, instead of creating a typical travel guide, the contribution that each made, resulted in an exciting magazine. Another important factor that made this month very fun, was the learning process. I didn’t know about magazine design or travel writing, and i learnt both of them in one month. Ljuba was very kind and patient to show us how InDesing works. She introduced us to the program and also gave us constructive criticism, in order to improve aesthetically and technically our designs. In addition, even though i didn’t expect it, i really liked the graffiti workshop! As a person who is terrible at drawing and very clumsy, as soon as i heard that we had to do our own graffiti painting, i felt anxious. However, the artists were willing to guide and help me to execute what i had in my mind. Both of them literally taught me in 4 hours ,how i can bring to life my idea. The final painting exceeded my expectations a lot and it was definitely my favourite day from the month. Finally i would like to say that i am very thankful for being part of this project and for everyone who was involved in it. If you want to learn about Berlin, magazine design and travel writing, treetop travel journalism is the perfect place for you!

Rachel Drissi: I always wanted to live Berlin with a creative and inspiring project - my participation with Treetop was my perfect solution :) I was able to improve my writing skills while discovering a beautiful and vibrant city. Thanks again to you Will for your advice and enthusiasm, See you soon I hope! Rach

Phillip Fernandes: Curated a super experience for us, has fantastic and unique connections throughout the city and gave us unrivalled insight into the lifestyle! Super lovely guy who runs it and always professional in comms and timetabling. Went the extra mile! 😁😁😁

Alex Bloomfield: Positive: QualityFantastic way to spend a few weeks in a really fun city whilst improving your journalism skills and also learn a bit of German. Billy is a top guy who will show you a great time! Cannot recommend it enough

George Cox: Had such a great time on this course from start to finish, and made new friends on the way. Will (the guy in charge) knows the city inside out and runs the whole thing incredibly. Thanks for the memories!

Marabu Hebrew School: what do users think?

Espee: My wife is taking lessons at Marabu Hebrew School for over a year now and we couldn’t recommend it more. The progress my wife has made has been incredible in conversation as well as reading and writing. Her teacher is really professional, she brings a lot of relevant and modern content to the lessons and my wife really likes her style of teaching and personalized approach. As a bonus she also happens to be a really warm and lovely person. Would highly recommend!!!

Anne Rethmann: Before going to Israel for a year, I took Hebrew classes at Marabu Hebrew School. I took lessons with Ella. Good teaching comes about from having a good lesson plan for each individual. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn modern Hebrew. And equally important, she is not only a great teacher, but also a wonderful person.

Dan Yadin: Studying with Ella at Marabu has been such a gratifying experience. Ella is such an attentive, generous, and patient teacher. She makes it easy to be a student because she is able to gauge exactly where I am and craft a tailored approach for my specific learning style. I heartily recommend studying with her.

Michal fargo: Best teacher in the business!Highly recommended!

Jana Hopfinger: I am going on my 2nd year with Ella and I hope that I will continue studying Hebrew with her for a long time! It continues to be a highlight of my week. It is a time in which she brings stimulating material to discuss, a time in which she is eternally patient as I think about how best to express myself, and a time in which someone is preparing lessons for me! As a teacher, I appreciate the time and effort that Ella devotes to her teaching; she is a gifted teacher, a creative and thoughtful person and a delight to work with each week. I highly recommend working with Ella--you will not be disappointed! I am writing this as the Jewish people have finished reading the book of Beresheet and are beginning the book of Shemot. At the end of each book, we say "חזק חזק ונתחזק!” ("Be strong, be strong, and we will be strengthened!"). As you study with Ella, may will grow in your individual strength and may you experience the power of collective strength and understanding!

Catalyst - Institute for Creative Arts and Technology: what do users think?

Mona Jain: My son studies in catalyst and I can see in one year of the programme his skill has multiplied manifold . It’s a great environment and student friendly institute which encourages original thinking . Professors are extremely helpful and themselves experts on their field of music .

Sylvia Gozdek: I took the 4-week Filmmaking short course over the summer in 2020 and had an incredible time. Together with my classmates, we created 11 films together! This meant I played through quite a lot of the different roles on the 6 sets I was on... It really is amazing how much ground we covered. From lighting and camera, to script writing and directing, through to editing and screening. This course is perfect for an ambitious beginner like me or even someone who has a bit of experience and is looking for a fast paced challenge.

Heath B: Despite being the in the first degree program at dbs Berlin, and the humble campus we had in comparison today, I cannot say anything negative about this institution. The degree program was aimed at students seeking a complete education preparing us for our final year’s thesis. Each subject was taught from simple to more complex, and understandably there may be some with more experience than others, but reinforcing the basics is essential. The support I got from all tutors was excellent and inspired passion to learn and grow. Following the degree, I was able to work as a freelancer, delivering high quality work to a variety of clients. Despite not currently working in music, what I learned socially and in soft skills over the degree years still sticks with me and certainly supports my current work and interactions in my industry.

Itamar Cohen: dBs was the perfect size for me - people get to know each other with the slightest effort. The staff were very qualified, helpful, and approachable, despite the fact that many of them were, in fact, English ;) I earned there some tools I use daily ever since, and made connections that go with me to this day. The program is what you make of it - the more you engage, the more you’ll learn.

Nicolas Avila Rodriguez: Dbs music berlin is a great place to make contacts advance in your music/film career and learn from some impressive tutors! With dedication and passion you can learn everything you need if you put the energy on it.

SG Strike: Probably the best and nicest techs and staff all around. Met some of the coolest and most inspiring people there and learnt A LOT! Would recommend it to people who want to be creatively involved in music production, or want to improve their musical artistic views and visions. (got pizza for writing a possitive review)

Jayden Bailey: Film student here: Amazing tutors, admin stuff great people. Super hands on workshops and learn by doing film making, has led to amazing experiences with classmates. Highly recommend. PS amazing location and facilities 🧡

Sprachenatelier Berlin - German Language School: what do users think?

alisan Barca: I am currently at Sprachenatelier coming from Turkey . I got my A1 and A2 from here. Really good school. In a very nice neighborhood, old style historic building and just behind the u-bahn. Always quick respond to our questions not only on mail and phone also on school . The teachers are very experienced and friendly. They are always motivated to teach and we are able to reach them and ask our questions, not only at school but also outside of school. Practitioners are also very friendly and positive, we learned a lot from them, teachers and practitioners are kind of puzzle pieces. There are also speaking clubs every week and a cultural trip every Wednesday. I enrolled in the school for 6 months, but I am planning to extend my course and finish in 1 year. Thanks to Sprachenatelier for creating such a beautiful environment. I highly recommend this place.

Carol: I did my A1 here. The teachers were amazing. I’ve bin in different schools around Berlin but this one is the school that I recommend to people the most. The teachers used games and we spoke constantly in the class. Very good professionals.

EminTurgut: After two years in Berlin and trying four different language schools, at the end i have found mine. It is by the far best. My language level just in one month doubled. Thanks to taboo game in the class :)

Angelika: I have been attending the DaF evening course for over a year at the time of writing this review. I met a few different German teachers and every one of them had something valuable to teach. During the pandemic, the school swiftly switched to a remote teaching model which allowed me to continue learning from home. I can wholeheartedly recommend the school for learning German, it offers good quality for a reasonable price.

Lori Kreuzberg: A relaxed bar with a diverse and international clientele- especially popular with students from the language school Sprachenatelier as a venue for Stammtisch- a language exchange. We offer friendly staff and service, good food and even a new weekend Brunch Menu!

Karan Balani: I can definitely recommend this school. Teachers and staff members are friendly and supportive. If you are serious about learning German, then go for the intensive course

Damon Burrell: This is my second language school. After a month of classes I LOVE IT!! I’m more confident with speaking and learning a lot faster. The staff and teachers are great!!!!!

Freie Universität Berlin Continuing Education Program (FUB-ContinuEd): what do users think?

Mathias Foit: The course Academic Writing in German offers a unique space to discuss the intricacies of German academic writing. The group was encouraging and respectful, and the instructor was very helpful. The course has given me confidence that, although I might not have a near-native command of the German language, I have all the tools it takes to write a good academic text in German.

Cristina Saura: In 2022 I took a communication course here over two months. The organisation was impeccable, the course contents very satisfactory. Interesting and very focused on practical application in professional life. I recommend it.

Dr Hansjoerg Hagels: I participated in the online course on "Understanding global sustainability challenges" in Feb - April 2022. Very interactive approach: fantastic exchange with international speakers and participants.

Natalia Stręk: price adequate to the level of education. Great courses, raising personal qualifications and influencing self-development

Frédérick Deschênes: Fantastic Program! I highly recommend.

Hertie School: what do users think?

YC Boey: Came to visit the school which my son is attending. Smallish reception but had a decent breakout area and small cafe. The upper floors are classrooms and lecture halls I think. But there are cafes and areas like Deutsch Bank digital cafe to run to for quiet and alternative hideouts or discussion grouping.. next to other eateries and a shopping mall so food is readily available.

Godezilla 404: 1. Unfortunately, bad experience in dealing with Hertie School 👎 2. lack of professionalism. 3. For-profit organization, looking for money, not educating others and giving good attention to research. I participated in one of the Scholarship programs for a year, but unfortunately it was worse than bad from my experience and many others were not satisfied. Note: Not to disclose the real names to avoid any problems from the ٍSchool side

A. L: Excellent students, wonderful teaching and research, incredibly terrible administration!

Cesr Rodriguez: The prettiest girl is going there

Daniel Felipe López: A really good university

TORI토리: Bokyung❣️ I’m always be with you!

Jose E. Jasso: 🙌🏼

Marek Slobodník: Hertie love

Phil: "Great experience - thank you!" Got my master’s degree in public policy there. At the time, the course not only enriched me in terms of content, it also enriched the faculty and the many people I got to know. The school itself has become an anchor point for me in Berlin that will always remain with me in the future. #HertieLove

Language Mafia. The language school in Berlin: what do users think?

Julieta Morano: (Online course due to Lockdown) I’ve been almost 5 years in Berlin and studied German in 3 other schools and I must say this course is my favorite! I have Miriam as a teacher and she is very dedicated and passionate. I did B1.2 last month and starting B2.1 next week. I was a bit afraid of studying German online (due to the time on the screen and fear of getting bored/distracted) but the class is so dynamic and well structured that the time actually flies and leaves me motivated every time! Really recommended :)

Martin Edwards: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityClasses with Sprachmafia are amazing. Well structured, thorough, and intense enough. The class had a great vibe and it made learning the language fun. I felt a big difference with my German in just a few weeks.

Paola Compés Tatay: The Sprachmafia is a great school to learn German. Ferda and her team love their job and that shows throughout. The classes are structured, dynamic and highly interactive, which enables you to improve fast while having fun. Highly recommended!

Eleanor Turner: I took the C1.1. and C1.2 courses at this school and had a great experience. Ferda and Fani are both humorous, engaging and creative teachers. The building, classrooms and garden are lovely. The atmosphere is fun, relaxed and friendly, and I met many nice students here who have now become friends. Have been recommending to all my friends and would come back for a C2 class any time!

Flor Vilardebo: Best! After almost 4 years in Berlin, and trying different schools, finally this one has brought me up to speed with my everyday german skills. My teacher Ferda is patient, fun and fast. Really professional both in school and online!

Humboldt-Institut Berlin: what do users think?

Audrey Bentch: The Humboldt-Institut provided an amazing experience! The intensive courses greatly improved my German, and the staff were all incredibly helpful and kind. I would recommend Humboldt to anyone hoping to improve their German language skills and cultural immersion.

Petr Mátl: I spend 5 weeks in Humboldt-Institute in Berlin. I can recommend to anyone who wants to improve his German and experience Berlin. I appreciated the most: - German lessons - Stefan was one of the best teachers I have ever met. I made big progress in speaking as well as in writing. I would need normally a year for similar progress. - organized rich leisure program that helped me get to know the whole Berlin (and also some other cities) - location of school - just next to the S-Bahn station and 20 minutes walk to many city highlights - “all-inclusive” catering. Always enough food and also taking into account dietary restrictions - nicely renovated and good equipped room - very friendly staff with a family atmosphere - I am no longer in my student years, yet I appreciated the inspiring contact with young people.

Nikita Guryanov: Very cool place to study German! In 2011 I studied at Humboldt in Bad Schussenried, but this time I chose Berlin (because it’s for adults). We have very cozy and interesting lessons, teachers are very very friendly, kind and professional. In winter there are not so many students, but anyway it’s cool to study there. Staff and workers do the best to make lessons, free time and weekends fun and useful. Courses are really intensive and heavy, but you will speak German every day, you will learn much new stuff and you will meet cool people. Accommodations could be a little bit better, but rooms are fresh-repaired and rather big. I love Humboldt, the best German-school in Germany!

TRANSMITTER Sprachschule: what do users think?

Josephine Lohoar Self: Transmitter is a fantastic language school to learn German at, not only are the classes small but the teachers are super lovely, creative and kind. They somehow even make learning grammar fun! Would highly recommend.

Meltem Çetinoğlu: I’ve completed A1 level back in 2019 and took a long time off from learning German due to Covid. I’ve started again in 2022 and I went back to Transmitter without hesitation. Thanks to the lovely teachers there, I’ve reached the end of B1 level in ~6 months. All the teachers are not only very competent both in their knowledge and in making the class fun, but also they are interesting as human beings, most of them having some kind of interest in art, music etc. They often organize activities outside the class; pub gatherings, museum visits as such. I enjoyed learning so much with Laura who is an extremely nice and organized teacher. You can really feel she is personally committed to her students’ success. She always searches new ways/tools to explain the topics and goes above and beyond in making each and every student regardless of their level, feel at ease in the class. Thank you Transmitter for the lovely atmosphere and making me more competent in German. :)

John Calaway (Big Black Bike): Yes, 5 star review from me as well. Great setting to learn and practice German. In my case I needed a grammar refresher, vocabulary boost, and a bit more conversational confidence. 4 week daily intensive course was perfect: small class size, solid enthusiastic teacher, and quick-paced lessons. Already enrolled in next series B2.2!

Manoela A. Lemos: Absolutely the best course in Berlin. I’ve tried some before, but they are all extremely boring, only following the book and not really interested in trying anything new to help with the learning process. Transmitter cares about making thorough reviews of the content, every class there’s a bit of a review of what we have learned. This is extremely important to help fixating the content. Besides, it’s always very dynamic and you don’t get tired of the subject. There are games and activities developed specially for every content. Another great thing is that every teacher there is incredibly good 💛

Ghazaleh Ansari: As someone who recently immigrated to Germany, the transmitter language school is a very lovely place for me. Friendly environment & best teachers. I really do enjoy learning German here.

MetFilm School Berlin: what do users think?

Andrew Ballantyne: Was a student during COVID-19. Was not prioritized and paid too much with very little income put in return to the students. Also was hired here as an alumni to be told the position was filled. Go to one of the hundred other film schools in Berlin

Pablo Norzagaray (Norza): I did the 4 Week Cinematography and I have to say it was great! The knowledge and gear provided to us was amazing, and the instructors managed very well the fact that the group was a mix of different levels of experience.Really considering coming back for the MA this year.

Philipp Roll: Finally I found time to write a review on the 4 week editing course I took last year in September. Origininally, I wanted to take the 4-week cinematography course but it was already fully booked, so I chose the editing course and don´t regret having taken that decision! I really enjoyed the course and learned so much about editing a bit about sound design & color correction. I am actually changing my profession right now and the editing course definitely played a big role in taking this decision. So thanks a lot to met film school, I can highly recommend this course :)

Neema Ngelime: I attended the 8 Week Documentary course last summer. It was a great decision I made. I had basic film skills but the course made more confident. For anyone who wants a good head start in the documentary world, Metfilm will give you the right confidence to pursue it. During the course we were taught theory (sound, edit, cinematography and directing) and practiced as much. My fave bit is we were all left with films we made. It was a great collaborative 8 weeks we required to be in other projects as crew thus graduating with a body of work.

Julia Shropshire: I had the opportunity to join the masters in narrative directing from 2017 - 2018 and had a great time. The biggest highlight was connecting with people in my class and around campus from all over the world and having the chance to work in different roles on their films. Every few weeks there is a new focus and after one year, I graduated with 8 of my own short films and credits in over 20 other shorts from my peers.
