The animals of the Berlin zoo

Once inside, it seems to be in a new microcosm where the animals are the real protagonists. Each species has its own “home”, that is a protected and ad hoc natural environment, fortunately cages are rare. The distance from the animals is minimal, but still such as to guarantee a pleasant visit for the whole family in perfect safety.

Among the different exotic species meet elephants, hippopotamuses, monkeys, rhinos, panda and very high giraffe. There is also, in the northern area of the park, an area entirely dedicated to birds and penguins.

If you are passionate about ornithology we advise you to enter the Butterfly Pavilion dell'Amsterdam Zoo Artis.

One of the main attractions of the zoo is located at the southern entrance, let's talk about theancient Elephant Gate built in 1899, today House of Carnivores: the jaguar, the Californian lion, the panther and many other rare predators are photographed every day by thousands of visitors.

The services offered within the park

We suggest visiting it Berlin Zoo calmly: it will take at least half a day to be able to explore everything, fromDolphin aquarium to the wonderful lakes with weeping willows.

The structure is perfectly organized to offer a complete service to families: two restaurants offering Berlin specialties, a fast food, Numerous bar and toilet. At the park entrance it is possible to rent equipment for disabled visitors.

Lo Berlin zoo provides 2 different areas designed specifically for the little ones:

Every 30 minutes, in the various areas of the park, a different species is fed and becomes the occasion for an exciting and compelling show. The last show is at 16.00 hours when the monkeys meal.

What to see in the surroundings

We are located in the heart of the area reserved for parks of Berlin, so the Großer Tiergarten is definitely worth a visit, a huge park where you can get lost among lakes and nature trails. We also recommend a visit to the Bauhaus-Archiv Museum, the museum of German rationalist architecture.
